They did an excellent job fixing my brush mower at a reasonable price. But be sure to allow a few weeks before you need your mower. Usually they're very busy and backed up. I took an electric weed wacker in to get it fixed. They fixed it in a few days and called me and left a nice voice mail message saying it was ready. I was really hoping that Shoreline Mower and Saw would be a good spot for basic repairs and annual tune-ups. I live nearby and it'd be quite convenient. I like to support local businesses whenever possible. However, these guys are slooooow-w-w. I brought my Echo leaf-blower for the Fall tune-up and they gave me a fair price and estimated two weeks. I called after two weeks and it's not ready. Seriously? It's mid-October and leaves are falling right now everywhere. I must have my leaf blower to clear them before it rains and they turn to mush. But, no. By the way, I drive by this shop regularly and never see any customers' car in their parking lot. I can't believe it takes them this long for the most basic routine bread-and-butter maintenance chores. I have a lot of small gas engines (lawnmower, generators, pressure washer, string trimmers) and I'm taking them elsewhere for tune-ups. read more

FYI: they have speed traps on 1st Ave NE by the shoreline rec center so don't get caught speeding while you are looking up the address and not paying attention to the speed limit like I was. read more

Do not use this shop for warranty repair. I took a chain saw in for warranty work. First, although they are listed as a Poulan warranty location, I was told that they were not when I took it in. But, to be fair, he said he would do it. That was 6 months ago. Six months. I keep getting reasons like parts on back order, 'we can't figure out the reason why..., it will be delivered and done by Saturday (a month ago). The staff is courteous, and apparently those who take stuff in for regular repair do okay. But for warranty work, your item will get the lowest priority treatment. At this point, I'm going to call and say I will come and collect the parts and then I will take it to a regular shop and pay to get it fixed, Other warranty locations are miles away and this region's traffic is enough of a deterrent to avoid the hours of hassle on that end. Final note: Do not buy a Poulan Pro chain saw. I have to do better at reading reviews. Ugh. read more

We moved here in 2015 and I was stoked to have a mower repair place so close. We have a craftsman lawn tractor so the occasional need for a repair man comes up. Fast forward to fall of 2017- we needed to mulch the leaves in our yard so we fired up the old Craftsman and it smelled like gas. Bad. We cut it off and began our research. Come to find out this is a common problem where a part in the carburetor goes bad and needs to be replaced. The next day I headed on over to our local repair place. The gentleman was nice and said he'd pick it up the following Sunday or Monday. He never came. I went back down there and inquired about what had gone on. He apologized and gave me a couple more dates on Sunday or Monday when he could come. So I waited. He never came. I went back down there and did the same thing as last time. He apologized and gave me more dates. He never came. I went down there again and literally BEGGED him to please fix my lawnmower. Again he apologized and again HE NEVER SHOWED UP!! This company changed owners recently, for about the third time in about three years. The new owner changed the name from North City Mowers, probably to disassociate himself from the sad reputation of North City Mowers. The new owner is the guy who used to work there as their repair person. Sounds good, right? However, I went there and bought a replacement air filter and spark plug for my Toro mower. Couldn't figure out why the spark plug wouldn't stay screwed into the mower. A neighbor suggested that I must have stripped the threads on either the mower or the plug. My mower was six years old, and I figured that it would cost more than it was worth to take it in for a repair. So, I went and bought a brand new Honda. At the Honda dealership, because I am sick of dealing with horrendous service from mower repair shops (check out reviews for shops around north Seattle. There's one place where a customer was physically assaulted!). The new Honda, of course, works like a dream. I also looked up the replacement spark plug for my Toro. Lo and behold, Mr. Shoreline Mower had sold me the wrong one. This had not been a complicated problem for him to solve. Most Toro mowers, it turns out, use the same spark plug. I went to HOME DEPOT and bought the correct one. My Toro works great now. Now I have two working mowers, which I don't need. I have this crazy feeling that the guy at Shoreline Mower sold me the wrong one so that I'd need to bring the Toro in for a repair (yes, I'm a woman). Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong. It means that the guy is either dishonest or stupid. If you can find an honest, competent mower repair place anywhere around Seattle, please let the rest of us know. Or maybe you can open one up yourself. Even if you know nothing about mowers, you're likely to do better than the incompetent, dishonest or violent shops that are polluting the scene now. read more

They said it could take 2 weeks to repair our mower. Ok, we called after 1 week and they said it would be done within the week. Ok. We got busy and they are closed on Mondays so we called back 2.5 weeks after we originally dropped it off. We were told they had just ordered some parts that day and it would take another week. And they were taking a long holiday weekend and would be closed. We explained we had company coming over and needed it and by they time they completed it, it would've been almost a month. They also couldn't give us an approximate estimate of cost. Meanwhile we were left scrambling to get a mower shortly before our function. I would not recommend them. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! If there was such thing as zero stars they earned it. My experience was exactly the same as other customers getting warranty repair. If you value customer service and timely repairs this place is not for you. I brought in a Ridgid miter saw for warranty work since they were the only listed authorized repair center in the area. This was back in early June. It is now almost September and they still didn't fix it. I had to call numerous time to check on the status. I am a general contractor and use my miter saw regularly. To not have my tool back for 3 months has been very very inconvenient. The last time I spoke with the staff there and told them I need my saw back because I have lots of jobs to finish, they had the nerve to tell me your jobs are of no concern of ours. Yep that's right folks, their words verbatim. I am shocked this place is still in business. So after hearing this, I picked up my saw the next day, still broken and took it to Home Depot tool repair. For anyone with a Ridgid tool that needs servicing or warranty work save yourself the time and trouble and check out the Hme Depot in Woodinville. Don't expect to get your item back in a timely manner...especially if it's warranty work. It took them 4 months to fix my weed cutter and I wouldn't have known anything that was going on because they don't call with updates - even when it's finished! After 6 weeks of waiting I was told that the part they needed was on back order. A month later they said they had the part and would get to it within the week. A month later they played the back order card again and said it would "be done Friday." 3 weeks later I tried again and found out only by driving to the store that they had closed for 2 weeks and could not be reached by phone. When they finally opened up I called and they said it was done. I'm a patient person and this is my first negative review ever. Terrible customer service! If this was not covered by warranty I would be even more angry. read more

My dad recently brought in our Toro lawnmower to be fixed (the second time within the past year) and when we brought it home it worked just fine. However, the second time we mowed our lawn it stopped working. We recently paid ~$100 to get it fixed this month so my father (English as a third language speaker) was frustrated with always having to bring his lawnmower in to be fixed. He enjoys going to this establishment because he wants to support local businesses. When we went into explain the situation, the mechanic explained to us that perhaps we didn't put in new gas. I asked how fresh does the gas have to be, he said roughly 3 weeks. I really hope that this diagnosis holds true. It remains to be determined. However, the mechanic was willing to clean out the carburetor and work with us to resolve this issue. Because of this I am giving them a thumbs up and would recommend them to others from the good customer service provided today. read more

Shoreline Saws and Mowers tuned up my Rigid pressure washer. When I brought it in it had not been serviced in many years, was running roughly and was difficult to start. They replaced the pump oil, motor oil, and some other engine parts. When I got it home, it started on the first pull, and nows runs perfectly. The price for all that was $130, which I consider reasonable. I am very satisified wuth the work they did. read more

Lousy customer service, bad attitude, rude staff. I brought in a brand-new lawn mower for warranty repairs (it broke on the third use). The mower company said I had to use an "Authorized Repair Dealer" to get a warranty repair, and they directed me to Shoreline Mower and Saw. I carefully explained what was wrong with the mower (drive belt slipped off the driveshaft), and asked when they could give me an assessment. He said "I'll call you" and took my number. After awhile I hadn't heard back, so I called them. The person I spoke to said they hadn't looked at the mower yet, that they were busy: "We have paying customers ahead of you, we can't tell you when we'll look at it." When I asked if he could give tell me when I might expect to at least get some idea if the repair was covered by warranty he said "No. We're too busy with paying customers." The person's tone was rude and offensive - he clearly didn't want to be bothered with warranty repairs because that meant extra paperwork on his part. I told him I'd pick up the mower the next day and take it to another shop. When I did so, he pulled my mower out and walked away - he didn't even offer to help me get it into my car. (I'm a senior citizen - fortunately I had someone along to help me). Avoid this shop unless you're paying cash. read more
