Had a great time here! We were attending a wedding rehearsal dinner, preceded by a cocktail reception on the open roof area. Great ambiance on the rooftop, nice place to enjoy a cocktail. The dinner was great, servers were on top of their game, food was served at perfect intervals, presentation was great, taste was tops! We were here for tonight from out of town and a friend recommended Town Hall to us. It was excellent. I highly recommend the Bouillabaisse, one of my favorite dishes, it was very good and fresh. We visited Florence for Christmas and this was the perfect place for a nice dinner out with my Grandmother. The pork belly was fabulous and so were the deviled eggs. DO NOT skip desert! The banana rum bread pudding and fried pie were out of this world! Our party of 5 thoroughly enjoyed every single dish we ordered. The service was phenomenal and the ambience was great! First time coming here tonight and it was absolutely great! Went out for dinner with the family and we all enjoyed our food and the atmosphere inside was very nice. Our waiter was quick and got everything we needed and the food came out quick. Our valet driver Chase took care of our car and he was very polite and quick. This restaurant is wonderful. I have never been disappointed. I can truly say that the Hanger Steak is the best steak I have ever eaten. It is perfect every time I order it. The servers are always friendly and attentive and the manager always stops by to say hello and check on our experience. I have never been a huge brussel sprouts fan, but their roasted sprouts are delicious. I enjoy dining here regularly. read more

Pretentious and overpriced. Ordered my hanger steak medium. It arrived sliced and covered in a wine reduction. However it was blue. I sent it back and when it reached our table I found they had thrown the slices of steak back on (coated in a reduction). Scorched taste and rubber band texture. Fries were good. read more

Was in Florence for a tennis tournament with my son over the weekend and we were looking for a nice place for dinner. Found Town Hall on Yelp. We had an awesome dinner. The food was really excellent. I agree with the reviewer who wrote about the cornbread and butter. Really terrific. My son had the burger, which he loved and managed to devour. That came with some deadly good truffle fries. I had one of the specials, which was a heritage Carolina pork loin. One of the best pieces of pork I've ever had. Absolutely amazing! The grapefruit negroni wasn't bad to start off the meal either! The decor of the restaurant is really nice. Very modern, open kitchen, huge glass windows right in front of the bar. Our waiter Dion was also very knowledgeable and friendly. My son and I will absolutely come back here when we are next in Florence. read more

This is hands down the best eatery in florence owned by a fabulous group that has multiple other restaurants in downtown Charleston, Columbia and Atlanta! Town Hall, specifically, has wonderful staff who know their area of expertise. I have tried most of everything on the menu and the chef has consistently delivered a fantastic meal. If you get a chance to visit this amazing establishment ask for Terrell he is the man behind and in front of the scenes making things happen, providing support to staff and exceeding our expectations. I will not be back at this restaurant again. We had a reservation for 7 PM and were not seated until 7:30. Yet the table they seated us at had been open the entire time we were waiting. Once they took our drink and dinner order it took them almost 1.5 hours to get our meal to us. They told us they don't start cooking your entrée until you are completely through eating your salad. There were vacant tables in the restaurant so I'm not sure why it took them so long. Last time at this restaurant! read more

My friends and I ended up at Town Hall because the place we wanted to go to was closed. However this was an awesome alternative. It was an hour before closing when we arrived but we were happily welcomed into the restaurant. Our server Gretchen was wonderful. She was very nice and personable and was very helpful when it came to choosing entrees. We started with drinks. I had their special margarita with Grand Marnier and orange juice I think. It was delicious. For appetizers we had the deviled eggs and pork belly. Both were tasty but I liked the deviled eggs more, just my preference. For dinner I ordered one of the specials, a lamb pasta orecchiette. I think that's what is was called. I'm a sucker for lamb so I was sold on it when she described it and I was not disappointed. The sauce was a great match for the lamb and there wasn't too much pasta to overshadow everything else in the dish. My other friends had the scallops and the oxtail dumplings (another special). I was too stuffed to try any desserts but if I'm ever back in Florence Town Hall will be on the agenda. read more

My son surprised us on our 29th anniversary by buying us dinner at Town Hall. We are very happy he did. As many people comment, it is a little pricey for what Florence is used to, but the question is it worth it? After our meal i would have to say yes. The service and atmosphere was different than any other place in Florence. It's not an every night place for sure, but I wish I could. Great food, atmosphere, and service do not come at a $9.99 all you can eat price. We had the seared fish (Tilefish), and the seafood pirlau. We had the jalapeno and cheddar sausage as a starter. And it wasn't just a sausage slapped on a plate. It came with bread toasted on the wood grill, a just right spicy mustard, pickled onions that were pickled with the unique homemade pickles that were the perfect palate cleanser. They knew it was our anniversary, thanks son, so they gave us a complimentary dessert. We were too full to order one but managed to eat the brownie and strawberry ice cream dessert. Both of which were made in-house. Nothing we had could be duplicated anywhere else in Florence, which is a testament to going thru the effort that's needed to create from scratch. So please support a local establishment that has given Florence a different style and class of restaurant. No place is perfect, but it is obvious that they are striving to be as near perfect as a restaurant can be. I almost forgot, don't dare miss out on the cornbread. Paired with their butter, it will make you wonder how they did it and leave you trying to replicate it at home. read more

I've traveled a bit and eaten in some "foodie" towns, and Town Hall was great. It's got a great vibe, decor, etc. Described in terms of store, its dressy casual. The food was great. I loved the oysters on deviled eggs. I had a filet and my date had the fish (sheepshead). We had drinks prior across the street at Victors, which I like as well. It's definitely a more casual environment at Town Hall, exactly what I was looking for. I haven't been out much in Florence, but it's great to see new venues like this springing up. read more

Stopped in late afternoon for a snack and a beverage on our way home. We were delighted by the food and service! Split two appetizers among three people, and the portions were large enough for that to be enough. The Deviled Eggs with Fried Oysters were wonderful, but the Pork Belly on Red peas were the star of the day. I will definitely return for more! Our server, Monique, was quite the hostess, too! The food was fantastic. I went to Townhall for a dinner meeting. We had a big crowd and the servers stayed on top of our orders.

This is our second time going to Town Hall. I am sorry to say I am not a fan. I wanted to be. I really did. My guest and I arrived to a beautiful restaurant in a newly thriving area of Florence only to be greeted by a male in blue jeans who never gave us eye contact or seemed the least bit interested in his job in this expensive restaurant. All the servers wear blue jeans as well. Really? For a $$$$ price! Didn't it used to be the servers were well dressed and they had dress codes (at least to some degree) for their patrons? We were seated this time at a two top in a corner with a row of about seven 2-tops along the back wall. The man next to me had a ball cap, old sweat shirt and grungy jeans. Are we at the Waffle house? Servers can't even enter the space to serve you in this area because their rear ends would be in your face. You cannot have a private conversation with the person you are dining with. Our server was shy and new. He said this was his third day. I get that however, did the restaurant review any of the menu items with him or how to serve before putting him out on the floor? I simply asked what a Hanger Steak was. He said I really don't know, I'm new. I said for a $25 steak could you please find out? He came back and said it's a cut in the middle. I said what does that mean? He went back to ask. He said like a brisket. So he had taken our drink order and we had to ask twice to get it. I ordered a Seagrams 7 and 7up with lemon and lime in a tall glass. I received a Segrams 7 and 7 in a short glass with 3 cherries. I asked for the lemons and limes twice more. I asked for bread because the last time there we didn't receive any because we were told "we didn't ask" I guess you have to know the code. The cornbread was much more of a cake dessert to me than bread. It wasn't bad but I just wanted a piece of bread not cake. The hanger steak wasn't awful just ordinary. It came with spinach on the side and some type of potato. I ordered another drink and again had to ask for the lemons and limes. If I was at a much less expensive restaurant in town like an item price between $12-$15, maybe I would not be so critical. Bottles of wine start at about $40. This is an expensive night out for us, so yes I do have different expectation here as opposed to getting a quick bite out. However, other folks seems to really like it. But for us, it is very expensive for a waiters poor knowledge and forgetful service, all to dine at a trendy new Florence restaurant. The menu is very limited for me. I think I could spend $100 for 2 meals at another venue, or perhaps go to the bar for a drink and go to dinner somewhere else. Our last visit we brought a guest. The bill was $260 including tip for 3 persons. 3 meals, 3 salads (ala carte) 2 drinks, 1 shared dessert and 3 coffees. Wow!. We were given a gift certificate this time.... Interesting & simple menu - ordered deviled egg app w/ oysters which was awesome, entree trigger fish - nice dish / good light flavor but not over the top, dessert - try the beignets made me think I was NO!
