Very, very poor customer service, if you have an issue needing to be resolved. First, after trying for days to actually speak w/someone to tell them they overcharged my credit card, (was only supposed to be charged 50% at time of booking yet was charged the full 100%), they were unwilling to rectify. I also booked weeks prior for 10 days and something came up so I asked to switch dates to 2 days earlier- was told they could not do that, although they were not fully booked. Then, because of the lack of even trying to accommodate, I attempted to cancel but they refused a refund and said there would be an additional charge if I cancelled. It was obvious since this is a self-check in, self-serve motel that this is just an investment property as the owner and manager who are not onsite showed zero interest in making anything right, nor was there a willingness to be flexible- far from hospitable. Zero stars for customer service. I did keep my reservation but would not choose to stay here again. To be fair, the rooms were clean and nicely renovated, as well as the grounds, and self-serve area. That is the only positive experience but unfortunately, because of their horrible customer service, they lost repeat customers. read more

My parents got my partner and I a night away here for our anniversary. It's a short walk to downtown and there is a view of the lake through the trees. Everything was clean and super cute. The bed was so comfortable and we slept like babies. I really liked how everything was updated but didn't ruin the wilderness theme. The outdoor fireplace was a great way to end the evening. We thought the shared kitchen/game space was so thoughtful and added a great touch! This truly is a hidden gem! read more

My family and I recently stayed here for our vacation to the Olympic village and Santa's workshop. We loved our stay here. Miguel and his staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were newly renovated and stunning. Everything was very clean including the community kitchen. The pool was the perfect temperature at all times. It was a walking distance from the town and extremely close to a lot of stores (grocery, dollar store, Walmart). The only small things we as a group would have liked more was a dresser to put our clothes in, hooks for towels and maybe a second mirror so that while your brushing your teeth someone can do their hair or make up. But these are small things that won't keep me from coming back or recommending this wonderful establishment to those looking for a place to stay. read more

LOUSY COMMUNICATION. I was supposed to stay here starting today, 9/10. I tested positive for Covid on 9/6/2022. I tried calling the number provided 15 times between 9/7-9/9. Any option I chose at this number rang and then connected to voicemail that had not been set up. I emailed 4 times since 9/7, and even texted the number regarding cancelling. I never received a reply to my emails or text, however I did receive a confirmation of my reservation on 9/8. It was not my intention to cancel this reservation. I was looking forward to a relaxing stay with a college friend. I was hoping to speak with someone about either a refund, partial refund or voucher to stay another time. I have heard nothing from this company or anyone affiliated from them to even have a conversation. I have offered to send them my positive test. Even a decent business would have responded to my emails, or at least have a way to call and speak with a person. read more

This motel is clean, friendly & worth the stay. It's close enough to walk to town, shuttles & boat launch. The rooms are spotless & the kitchen that is available to the guests is beautiful. The fresh coffee is some of the best coffee around. They allow dogs & there is a nice potty area with bags & garbage, making it convenient to pick up after your dog. We haven't been here in the summer but they have a private salt water pool. There is a fire pit area which was terrific. We enjoy staying here & highly recommend. The hotel, owners and staff are top-notch! I just wish some of the guests would be considerate & pick up after their dogs (and not just on the motel property but along sidewalks, etc). Ps) this motel is super clean normally. We stayed again during Covid & I felt completely safe! Love this place & can't wait to come back! read more

Spacious, clean, recently remodeled rooms. Comfy bed with cloud-like linens. Incredibly hospitable, cheerful staff. They went out of their way to shovel a path to our car in the morning and offered fresh coffee and hot chocolate in the office. We're here at least annually for a hockey tournament and we'll always stay here from now on. read more

We stayed here with 2 families over New Year's.  Booked a little late so had to put our teenage girls in a room together, with the adults and 2 dogs in the other 2 rooms. It ended up being a fabulous setup (and surprisingly reasonable considering it was a holiday.). The rooms were clean and super comfy and cute.  The community room was an awesome addition- we cooked breakfast there in the morning, played Uno one night and hung out on the couch.  Everyone was pretty respectful of other guests.  There was also a fire in the pit lit every night -- which was a popular spot for s'mores.  There's also a fun little hill right there for sledding.  Great location too -- a short walk to the main town.  And VERY dog friendly.  Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I came to Lake Placid for our honeymoon in October of 2017 and fell in love with this town immediately. We wanted to come again to experience the winter season and stay in a small hotel/motel a little off the beaten path. We did some research and the Town House Lodge was the perfect fit! We had been to Lisa G's (another spot we recommend) and it's run by the same people, so we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. Beautiful clean rooms, great location not far from Main Street, friendly staff, comfy beds, quiet environment, and all at a very fair price. We will most certainly be back again! read more

Just spent 5 nights there and it was everything my daughter and I needed. Comfortable beds, clean, quiet and close to town. Great location if you are racing IMLP. Ok, my fiancé and I have been staying at the Townhouse Lodge for 6 years. We first stayed when it was owned by a a very nice German gentleman named Wolfgang and his lovely wife. It was very rustic but charming. The ownership changed hands the following year but we kept returning because the new ownership is even better. They updated all of the rooms and grounds. Everyone is hip and always clean. It's modern but still retains the ADK charm. Plus we love a drive up style motel where the parking is lined up with the room. We try and stay here twice a year. Once during the summer and once during the winter. Prices are fair and they really are very friendly. I was reluctant to write a review because I don't want the word to get out to much. It's already been getting harder to get a room. And I don't want the prices to increase because of demand. But what will be, will be. The THL is a quant and romantic getaway for my future wife and myself. We absolutely love everything about it. Cheers to the present and future. We can't imagine staying anywhere else. read more

Don't be deterred by the exterior "motel" look. Our room was impeccably clean and comfortable. Designed with a true Adirondack feel. The room included a coffee maker, mini-fridge, toiletries, hair dryer, TV. The sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were perfect. I slept like a baby. Within walking distance to Main Street, but not the absolute closest. For the price it's a great place to stay in Lake Placid. read more

Amazing place to stay. Very well located. Clean and they offer everything you need for. What's great is that they have a big kitchen with coffee, mustard, knives, everything you need for when you want to prepare your meals when going to ski. The rooms are also nice. There are small but you have everything you need. The room temperature is a bit weird. It's either very hot or very cold. But it's okay. I highly recommend this place if you're going to go skiing because you have all of the required things to prepare your meals and lunches. It's close to the good restaurants and you can walk around everywhere. They have free parking. We went to Whiteface to ski and it was between 20-25 minutes from the hotel. read more

My husband and I stayed at Town House Lodge as part of a mini-honeymoon/hiking vacation. I had researched many lodging options in Lake Placid, but the reviews on various internet sites for THL sealed the deal for me. The experience happily lived up to the hype. Our room was charming and comfortable. We are both active people and really needed the room for a crash pad throughout the weekend and it served that purposed perfectly. However, it was clear by the vibe all around us that this would have been a great place to spend more time. The communal kitchen and hot coffee in the morning was a stellar addition. Very close to town and several trails. I got to meet Lisa for a brief minute and she was lovely! We'd definitely consider staying again! read more

This is mine and my fiancé's first trip to lake placid for his birthday to go skiing....Everyone at this "lodge" is So nice and the room we got is beautiful!!!! I couldn't be more happier with our choice in a hotel...my fiancé took a bad fall skiing on the mountain and his snow pants and jacket was dirty so I asked the staff if there was a local laundromat and he actually took it and washed it for us....they had mold wine and cheese in the cozy kitchen area where we met a nice couple and had a nice time with the staff before we went out on the town....I'm already thinking of planning a summer trip here and if we do we will definitely be staying at the townhouse lodge!!! read more

As we were told by a local, "There are no motels in Lake Placid." This real name of this place is the "Town House Loge by the Lake" which is a bit of an exaggeration, but by no means is this place undesirable. It has a motel structure to it, however it is a very cozy, clean place to stay for the weekend. The room feels like you are staying in a friend's large guest room. Three heaters (one in the bathroom) heats the room up quickly. Tap water tastes really weird so make sure you pick up some bottled water. read more

My husband and I stayed over Christmas for three night to ski at Whiteface and to enjoy Lake Placid. This was a great spot to stay. It is a bit of a walk to the village with a few hills but nothing too strenuous. Our room was located in the back so we heard no street traffic or noise. The room was very clean an the bathroom is newer with tile floors and corner shower. Our room had a coffee maker and mini fridge so we ate breakfast in our room daily. On our second night there were neighbors next door and we didn't hear a peep. There was also free wifi provided and lots of tips on places to eat in town from the front desk. We would come back and stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

We stayed here during the week of July 4th. Not only was it a reasonable price, but it was in a great location. It's not right in the hustle and bustle of the town, but it's a very short walking distant to every shop and restaurant. Our room was immaculate and so cozy! Easy check in and friendly staff. The only thing that would make this 5 stars is somehow incorporating a small continental breakfast. We will certainly stay here again the next time we are in Lake Placid. read more

Just a 5 minute walk from Mirror Lake/Main St. Love the fact that you don't need a room key. They have a keypad and you choose your pin to enter your room. read more

Outstanding service! Staff was readily available for all of our needs and concerns. Rooms are impeccable, and as clean and tidy as can be. There is a fire pit that looks over the lake, which is perfect for friends to gather and relax as the weather cools down. Looks like a motel on the outside but was surprisingly comfortable! Very clean rooms and the beds are comfortable. There's AC/heat, a coffee maker and an outdoor pool. It's right outside of town and close to a lot of restaurants and activities. The owners were also so nice and helpful and made recommendations that really helped us enjoy our stay. read more
