We played them once and can live without them. Lots of parking and there is a bathroom facility in the park...but have never used it. Course is always well maintained, every hole in the first 18 has a paved t-pad. There is a creek running through that claims many discs. There is a box on site that you can deposit any found discs. The shops who maintains it will call you if your number is on the disc.

However, having always had something special going for it,the north Texas growth has breathed new life into this 10 square mile area formerly " historic" McKinney. This little lake created by forward thinking city planners is more and more a community gathering point. Just to the west is a full blown Frisbee golf course, hiking/biking trails and more. Very well maintained park , nice concrete pathway for walking & jogging. Saw many people who came early morning for fishing. It's a huge layout so didn't feel rushed every one was enjoying walking or jogging at their own pace. Ample seats for taking breaks or enjoying nature. Loved the vibe here all locals coming for walks , children enjoying parks & slides , enjoyed watching birds, turtles, fishes. There is ample parking place around the park & very well connected to all the local roads & highways.

First off, we should discuss location, location, location! I am a 75074 based pet sitter and this park is very close to my home base. The Plano Parks & Recreation lists the following address for Shawnee Park: 3380 Sherwood Drive, Plano, Tx 75074. So I don't where the info disconnect on whether it is a 75023 or a 75074 park but I do know it is a great community park. This neighborhood park has it all, including the following: disc golf course, hike bike and dog walking trails, playground, sports practice fields (first come, first served), restrooms, grills, picnic tables, sand volley ball court, and a small lake with a fishing pier. The pavilion holds a maximum of 50 people (no limit on the number of dogs and pets that I am aware of) and can be your rental as follows: resident rental rate $50, non-resident rental rate $100, $75 deposit requirement and other fees may apply. Amusements/sound allowed. This is a excellent park for walking, playing and exercising your fur babies. If you and your dog/dogs haven't had a chance to spend any time together then you need to correct that over-sight real soon.

There were about three other groups spread across the 18 baskets, so no crowd issues to deal with. The course appears to have been laid out originally as 9 holes, and then they added 9 more pretty much on top of the original 9 (you end up making a circular circuit twice). It's a little confusing at first figuring out which basket you are targeting, and where the next tee-off pad is, but everything is pretty well marked (although we never did find the basket for #17). For the most part, the holes are pretty wide open. Several are straight approaches across open field. A few do take you a little ways into the woods though. I'd call this an intermediate course, but a beginner would find it fun as its not too technical. The only advanced part is a couple of the distances and some curve approaches. There are a couple of ravines to watch out for, otherwise, pretty minimal chance of losing your disc as the trees and shrubbery aren't real thick. I'll definitely play this one again.

Andy Brown is a beautiful space, from the pond to the open fields, the sidewalk/bike path, multiple large pavilions, and fun playground. There are large, mature trees surrounding the park. We parked in the wrong lot and had to walk alongside the gym in order to get to the playground and I couldn't believe how beautiful the pathways were with all the trees and the small creek running alongside. Not what I expected from a city park! The playground itself ("Kid Country") is almost fully enclosed and is a sprawling assortment of things to climb up, swing on, and slide down. There is a play area in the toddler section with storefronts to spark pretend play. The ground is bark. There are large trees in the center of the play area that provide shade and make the play structure look more natural than your typical playground. Almost like a tree house. There are benches scattered throughout the play area and a large covered pavilion with multiple picnic tables underneath. The city of Coppell provides free WiFi there and there were multiple moms with laptops out, working, while their kids played. The only big negative is the distance from the playground to the bathroom. I understand that they probably built the bathrooms more toward the center of the park, but the wise choice would have been to also put an additional small restroom right next to the playground. It's too far of a walk for me to feel comfortable sending my younger kids over there alone and it's kind of a bummer to have to wrangle together the entire group every time one kid has to pee. Otherwise, a fabulous park. LOVE IT. Hats off to you, Coppell!

I…read morefind it hard to give any disc golf course less than a 5 star review, but this one gets a solid 4 from me. Pros - Good location. Easy to get to especially if you're on the Dallas side of the metroplex. - Holes are wide open with minimal obstacles. I imagine the only way you'll lose a disc is if you throw it in the street or maybe deep enough into the trees. The walk is also pretty easy. - Clean and well taken care of. Everyone is respectful and considerate of their game pace as well as their location on the hole. Mind your manners and yell fore. :) Cons - I personally hate the level of traffic on the course. Most people are fine with it, but I like being able to take my time and not feel rushed. (Not that any one has ever made us feel that way, it's just my own personal anxiety peeking through!) - I didn't necessarily get the best read on where all the holes were and how they were set up. If we didn't end up tagging along with a fella that was familiar with the course, I don't know if we would have found all of the holes. It was just a little confusing for me. We will for sure be back at some point, but I'd probably choose from another one of my favorites.
