    Front Exterior. Beautiful landscaping

Excellent stay. Modern clean property. Excellent gym, filtered water system. Love the walk in shower and kitchen in my room. Windows that open for fresh air. Excellent staff, breakfast, eating area. The train going by didn't disturb me at 1 am. Thought it might. It didn't, I loved it. We don't have trains in Hawaii, it reminded me of growing up in Ca and the fondness I have of trains in the Midwest. Landscaping was really nice. They have a fire pit and cruise, sit-down area in the front of the hotel. I didn't sit there, but groups of ppl did at sunset and enjoyed their time. Super cool location. Right near downtown, renovated, historic district and walkable to the walking trail along the Mississippi. I loved this place. So central to everything. I stayed 5 nights visiting my Mom, so I got a good feel for this place. Housekeeping and breakfast attendants were super polite and friendly too. Nice experience. Thank you Marriott and Mgr Ms Rodger's and all the staff. 1 thing, the darn HVAC A/C kept coming on when I would turn it off. It would get cold in the room so I kept having to turn that darn thing off. Irritating after a 5 day stay, perpetually having to turn that thing off 6x a day or more. Rrrrr

A very clean and modern style hotel with a free decent breakfast. It is close to all the new bars and dinning spots in the downtown area. The rooms have very modern deco and come with refrigerator, microwave, stove top and are set up nice for a small room ! Me and the wife would stay again

This is a new hotel, it is very clean, well designed and nicely appointed. The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. There are many bars and restaurants nearby and the location is only about 25 minutes to nearby Galena. I found the bed to be very comfortable, the AC was effective without being too loud. The room was pretty quiet overall, with the exception of hearing the occasional nearby door close and the sound of a passing train now and then--I am a light sleeper and I didn't find these sounds to be overly obtrusive.

This hotel opened up in January of 2019 and is one of two Marriott properties in the Dubuque area. Of the two, this Marriott property is far nicer and, I'll admit, it's likely because it is brand new. That said, it is in downtown Dubuque, a neighborhood experiencing a renaissance. The hotel is walking distance from 7 Holla Brewing Company and Brazen Kitchen, two EXCELLENT dining options. The rooms are spacious, clean, have nice walk in showers, a kitchenette and a connected television. There are Keurigs in the room with a variety of K Cups. The hotel also features a very large fitness center and a salt water pool.

There are only two Marriott brand hotels in Dubuque, Iowa. This is the newest one located in the industrial downtown of Dubuque. Parking and local eateries are plentiful. The rooms are clean and modern as are the pool and fitness center. The only issue one has to be concerned about is the trains that will blow their horns and wake you up at least 2-3 times after 1 a.m. There are earplugs on the nightstand but the front desk staff never warn you about the noise. If you are fine with this distraction, this is the place for you.

Hotel Julien Dubuque is one of those classic grand hotels that immediately leaves an impression. I…read moreabsolutely loved the atmosphere from the moment I walked into the lobby. It has that traditional old-world charm, and it's amazing to see how well the historic architecture and interior details have been preserved over the years. The building has so much character, which makes the stay feel unique compared to modern hotels. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating, and the hotel also offers a large parking area behind the building, which was very convenient. Our room overlooked the river, and the view was fantastic, especially in the evening. We only stayed for one night before continuing our trip, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. There are also several restaurants within walking distance, making it easy to find different dining options. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would gladly return the next time I'm in Dubuque.

We stayed here in July 2026 and paid over $400 per night for a suite. While the suite was clean, it…read morewas definitely outdated. The major problem was the thermostat. We normally keep our room at around 68°F, but the thermostat in our suite was locked and could not be adjusted. The room was approximately 73°F and very humid, making it difficult for my wife to sleep. When I spoke with the front desk the next morning, I was told that the temperature was controlled by the hotel through a computer. Had we been informed of this at check-in, or had there been a notice in the room, we would have contacted the front desk immediately. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of the issues. We purchased a robe to take home, but when we opened the package at home, we discovered that the robe was used and dirty. I contacted the hotel and eventually spoke with Allison Rosch, the Front Office Manager. It took several phone calls and emails to get any resolution. After repeatedly asking, I was offered $80 off the room. I was also told that the hotel would consider refunding the robe after receiving it back. I had to ship the robe back at my own expense--approximately $40. What was most disappointing throughout this entire experience was the lack of an apology or genuine concern for what happened. For the price we paid, the experience was simply not acceptable. Marriott Towne Suites would be a far better choice.

Not much for climate control but a ceiling fan and opening windows. Tini-Tiny bathroom. So small the sink is on the outside. Smoking allowed in building. Train!!!! 3am train We found this on yelp that everyone was getting a kick out of this place so we decided to try it. Called ahead (from across town). The woman on the phone was very kind. Walked into the old fashioned lobby and checked right in without any hassle. Besides the front desk is a small market of choices for snacks incase you forgot something. The woman was friendly again and told us all that we needed to know. She told us about the adjoining bar that opened later that night. The two creepy life sized Native Indian dolls weren't much for conversation. Got in the rather old elevator....It made lots of noises as we ascended to our floor. Using an actual key we went into the room. The rooms decor was like stepping into my grandma house. It actually had a grandparent smell. We cracked up at the size of the "queen" bed. That is not a queen. It was clean though. Minus a couple little things the bed was clean and that's important. There was a mini fridge, a couch, a microwave and about 6 different lamps in our one room. What made me laugh the hardest was the instant coffee maker..The antique. Even had the plastic mini cups holders. Oh I was afraid of setting something on fire. You're adventurous right? Tired of the same old hotels, yea try this one for a whole new experience. Also the bar attached to the hotel has karaoke every night and the staff is very welcoming. Within walking distance of many places to eat.

Clean, good price. Nothing fancy. No temperature control in room. Mine was too cold. Desk manager…read moresaid they didn't allow heaters and he could not get the heat fixed. He said he could get me another blanket. That didn't happen either. Disappointing.
