We absolutely love this hotel. It was clean the staff was very friendly. The rooms are set up with a full kitchen with a large refrigerator a table and four chairs and all the amenities you would need like glass plates and real silverware. The breakfast was very good and the outside patio was well thought through. I would stay in this hotel again for sure and will definitely look for other TownePlace suites by Marriott. Our experience was great! They even offered a free ticket to the minor-league baseball game in town as a perk. Amazing!

We stayed here to attend a wedding anniversary party for a good friend. We have not had good luck with Marriott lately, so we went with a newer one. This is a fairly new place located right off of Interstate 66. Everything was clean and nice. There is an outdoor pool area and a gas fire pit to sit around in the evening out front. There is a fair amount of parking and it is located near a lot of things... Target, restaurants, Lowe's, and 10 min from downtown Front Royal. It is a fairly expensive place to stay. Also, for a new place the walls were thin. We could hear the elevator running most of the night and you can hear plumbing from other rooms, showers running/toilets flushing. The room is set up like a suite with a small kitchen area that had a microwave and refrigerator with a freezer. The gym looked like all new equipment as well. It is well maintained so far!

The parking lot was crowded for the size of the hotel, we had to park on the street, and our sheets didn't look clean when we got in there, rest of the room was nice and the bathroom was spacious. Showers took a while to heat up but stayed hot after it got there. Staff was mostly friendly, breakfast was just bread / bagels and cereal from what I could find, which might make sense for covid, but I didn't think the amenities / Room warranted the price charged. Overall nice hotel and if I'm in the area again I'd consider staying, but would like to pay a lower price or see the amenities increased.

Teflon nightmare

Honestly, given the good reviews of this place I'm surprised to be writing this. However, I am appalled that after spending almost $600, there is an extreme decline in quality at this hotel. 1. Hot water didn't work. I called the hotel front desk to get assistance with it and after the receptionist told me she would reach out to her manager, I never heard back. Takes the hot water 15+ mins to heat up. 2. Pots and pans were completely scratched up. Stainless steel should have been the option given nonstick pans do not last and can be quickly ruined if used incorrectly. Nothing like poisonous teflon in your food. 3. Breakfast options are very slim. All sugary choices, nothing healthy. Healthiest option was an over-boiled egg. 4. Was given a broken tv remote. 5. Room was VERY small and I was constantly trying not to smack my head on the tv since it was hooked up right next to the bathroom at a very odd angle. There was plenty of space across from the bed where the tv could've have been mounted, next to the bathroom, in the middle of the hallway, not a good idea 6. Now, I understand that early check-in is never guaranteed but I was given the runaround by multiple people about being able to check in early. I was told inconsistent things from three people who all said something different. I also never received my mobile key until 4:30 PM (check in is at 3) and had to call to confirm that my room was even ready. Unfortunately, it seems like all this hotel cares about is the overhead, not the actual quality of the services they are providing. This room was a failure I will not be staying here again. Spend your money elsewhere. Feels more like a motel. Very disappointing. I've spent numerous days in Marriott hotels before, but never one this trashy.

Nice complimentary breakfast every morning

Happy hour was fun especially if there are other guests. Sitting at their little bar or sitting on the grand front porch just chilling is great. And their breakfasts are amazing and made fresh. Each morning is something different. If you eat it all, there is no room for lunch. My wife and I travel the world, and this is one of the most charming, relaxing, and accomodating places we have stayed. Downtown Front Royal with all of its eateries is within walking distance. The view of the mountains and the Shenandoah National Park are amazing. I recommend Woodward Hosue for anyone visiting Front Royal or the Shenandoah National Park. Michael H. Richmond, VA

The room had lots of space, with a large bed, separate sitting and TV area, and a small refrigerator in the room. It was a little tight in the bathroom. There are alot of collectables throughout the house. The common bar on the first floor had complimentary drinks, with fresh baked cookies and some snacks in the room. There were also sweets scattered through the home. If you find the bed is too high, look under the bed for a stepstool. We were given bath salts as a gift when we left.

I'll spare the story. My card declined, simple mistake happens to everyone at least once, but they absolutely whaled on the door and scared my boyfriend and I so bad. Instant attitude from the staff. That's when I decided to leave. Other information; huge gaps under doors, very loud it's like there isn't even a door there. The bed squeaks like it's something out the Smithsonian. Bed was unclean, little flecks of black stuff on it (hell no!) Save your money and keep yourself safe. We are now comfortable at the Hilton.

My husband and I eloped in 2013 and wanted to have our big wedding. When we saw the Shenandoah…read morevalley golf club we knew we needed to get it. The place is so beautiful. We reserved our date more than a year in advance 06.19.2015. Today I emailed the coordinator to let her know we would be canceling our date because we are expecting our first child in May 2015. We have gone back an forth with whether to continue with the wedding but financially it would be smart to focus on our unexpected child. I received an email back that said they could not refund our deposit because they have turned others away from our date. I find that quite puzzling because when we looked at the calender every weekend in 2015 was practically open and June 19th is on a Friday... I am extremely disappointed because the amount we are losing is pretty hefty. I will not be recommending this facility to anyone. It's unfortunate because the place is gorgeous. Don't do it!! Save yourself the hassle. Life happens and you never know, just know you will NOT get your deposit back. The fact that the deposit is so huge and this company feels that they have done 1,400.00 worth of work on my wedding so far is a little absurd. I do not believe that a bride was turned away from this date and my family is without money we saved. If you're thinking about reserving this facility for whatever reason, just picture something completely unpredictable happening and weigh out whether or not it'll be worth losing your deposit.
