Do not stay at this hotel. Bad Smell, found a dirty diaper under a bed after the second night stay. The Wifi would not work. I spent an hour + of my time on the phone with some second rate service they had contracted with who never did get access to me. I stayed in a two bedroom unit with kids who are all connected. So as you can imagine, not fun. The manager could not be reached. I left my contact information for the manager to call me. I was never called. I called Marriott two times. I was disconnected once and the second time placed on hold for so long I finally gave up. read more

Let me start off by saying that the single star I gave this atrocious property is because of the staff. They are gracious and accommodating as they attempt to mitigate the disastrous state of this "hotel". So let's explore the not-so-finer points, shall we? 1) The beds are so uncomfortable they cause injury. We are in a 2 bedroom "suite" with a fold out couch. After attempting (on nights 1-4 of a 35 night stay) to sleep in each of them and realizing that the fold out couch was too uncomfortable for a 3-year old to sleep on, we spent $150 on a queen sized air mattress that we take turns sleeping on for a reasonable attempt at sleep. 2) The windows leak. In Minnesota. In winter. I'll just let that one sink in. The owners care so little about this property that they didn't even seal the windows in a state where the temperatures drop to -30F. 3) The material condition of the rooms is just absolute sh*t. The heater/air-conditioning unit was not functioning. So I called maintenance (awesome guy who knows me on sight now, but more on that to follow) and he fixed it when he realized THERE WAS NO FUSE in the damn unit. So now I have heat, but the A/C still doesn't work. 4) The "oven" is utter crap. The temperature control doesn't work, the range on top is the lowest level of functioning crap available and the cookware is campfire style. After 2 nights we gave up and bought microwaveable meals and hoped our blood pressure would hold. 5) Until the toilets overflowed (3 times so far). I finally "borrowed" a plunger from the nice maintenance guy and it is residing in our bathroom until we leave. 6) The internet here is unreliable at best. And I do mean at best. There is a "premium" wifi you can pay $5 a day for, but surprise, surprise, it isn't working after 3 days either. So we spend an average of $15 at FedEx/Kinko's trying to download and send work and home purchase documents every few days. 7) The TV channels go out constantly, and with the crap-tastic internet service we can't stream anything using our PS4 or our tablets. This is like being stuck in a cabin in the woods without any good scenery or fishing. So it's just.....sh*tty. 8)The staff, as I said, try very hard to help but at the end of the day there isn't really anything any of them are trained or equipped to do for this place. We had to pay $5000 up front to rent this sh*thole for a month while our house is being completed. My husband's company had a "contract" with them so we were able to be reimbursed, but I would NEVER trust a Marriott name ever again. I assumed that for the money and with the name I would get a quality at least one star above a Motel 6 or LaQuinta. Instead I have a back ache that won't go away, and a serious desire to put a sign up outside saying "Flee for your lives!" This is a travesty of a hotel and I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone stay here. read more

We booked this hotel because of the location and the fact that they had a 2 bedroom suite. It was part of the Marriott chain so I thought it would be OK. We were disappointed. When we checked in, we noticed the place was not in very good condition, paint chipped, walls dented etc. The rooms we booked, a studio and the 2 bedroom suite were laid out well for our needs but again a little dilapidated. On the first night, my husband found something in the bed that looked like a large clove of garlic. Not pleasant. The next day we showed it to the front desk who offered to give us new sheets that we could put on ourselves or the option of having housekeeping change the sheets the next day. My husband was tired and chose to have them change the sheets the next day. Needless to say, they never showed. In addition, we found a dirty sock under the AC unit, our TV didn't work until my husband fixed it, the closet door was off the track, and one of the phones was dead. AC was intermittent. Suite was slightly better. Not up to Marriott standards. read more

I have stayed at this location a few times. Some rooms seem a bit dated with bathroom fixtures that just seem old (but worked fine) or maybe the tub had old grout in it. One stay I did have a room that just seemed like it had been closed up for a bit without any air circulation so it was a bit musty. That resolved itself after leaving the HVAC unit running all day while at my meetings. I find the location convenient with several sit-down and fast food options near by. The shuttle will even take you across the way to the plaza area if you don't want to walk to the Chili's at the other end of the parking lot. I've stayed in better and I have certainly stayed in worse. For business travel it was perfectly fine. It has a 3/4 size refrigerator for leftovers and beverages. The rooms have enough size to not give you that claustrophobic feel of the walls closing in on you. read more

Used them for a night because they had a park and fly rate. Room was ok, really nothing special. We stayed at three Marriott properties in the last two weeks and they were all lacking... To top this trip off we had a 30 min wait for the airport shuttle to take us to our car. Have to look at Hilton me thinks Update The driver was not happy the riders were talking and he could not hear his ballgame so he kept turning up the radio louder and louder..... And it was a 40 min wait! Update 2. And we get back to the property and the car was damaged....... read more

This hotel is very clean and modern. I work on the road so I have been to thousands of hotels and I'd say this is a decent one. But being on the road all the time, a big thing for me is the WiFi as most of my work and entertainment comes from streaming online... which is where the two stars come in. I paid for the upgraded WiFi (5 dollars a day) and it is horrendous. Kbps speeds. I am so tired of paying a lot of money to these places and the simplest amenity is almost non existent. The photos posted do not reflect what it looks like. The ones I took will not upload. This complaint to management and simply got "sorry". All of the problems are known per other guests. I was assured by Ixcel Mendez, manager that I could be accomodated This hotel faces a busy, loud major intersection and highway. The constant engine noise has prevented me from sleeping. Check-in: It was total and utter chaos. There was a flustered man dressed in casual clothing going back and forth behind the desk loudly using the phone. Also, there was an African American man with his items in plastic bags on a cart visibly upset on the phone loitering in the breakfast area. And, I noted the "Business Center"; is a single computer monitor, along with one chair directly up against the entrance doors, so no privacy at all. The lady who checked me in forgot to give me the Platinum Elite welcome amenity. There were no carts to use. The hallways had garbage outside of rooms and by the elevators. Inside of the room, all of the towels, toiletries, items for the kitchen, etc., were heaped in a pile on top of the dining room table to be put away. There were two police squads in the lot to meet the man with the cart outside that had been in the breakfast area. Further, the hotel parking lot and abandoned lot behind the hotel room used for guests recreation is highly suspect. Requests: I called the front desk and asked for makeup remover wipes and was told the hotel does not have any. But the next night, I was given a couple of wipes with the bath items I had requested. Morning, 830am I was informed the produce truck was late. And also that there are no trays to juggle the paper plates on. By 8:50am, I inquired again at the front desk and the breakfast attendant snapped at me in front of the truck driver, front desk staff, and other guests; "Yes, one momento please!". She then asked me "what I wanted", told me there were only bananas and apples, and asked me how many bananas I wanted. Housekeeping arrived and asked if I needed anything. Despite my bagging up the garbage, getting the towels, and helping in general; my clear request was ignored and hostile spanish from the other housekeeper was used while I did this. I sent a request for various bath amenities. However, no one actually responded to the requests. So, at 754pm I sent a chat checking on the status and the Elite welcome amenity. But, after half an hour I called the front desk, Lyndsey said she would "be right up with the items". At 845pm, "George", the shuttle driver, came to the door with wrong items. After I spoke to Lyndsey, she explained the "requests for services" and messages I had been sending were "for someone else" and going to "a Maria". Then she told me "a Maria works here, they are going to her inbox, and only she can open them". I called and spoke to Maria around 11pm and she stated "she could not tell me why". Marriott Account login breaches: I had been logged out of my app recently and had to reset the password Marriott to the app. I was logged out again and continue to receive error messages in red highlight. Room/hotel conditions: The shower is very slow to drain. It fills up to the tops of your feet after about 5 or 10 minutes. Overall, the room isn't in sanitary condition. Due to residue and dirt I had to wipe out the drawers in order to put my things in them. Cup rings on the surfaces. The filth accumulated in the cupboards below the sinks and in the oven I haven't used. Upon first use, the kitchen sink/garbage disposal was clogged with what appeared to be potatoes. Like other reviews of this property the furniture is ridiculously inadequate, so small and uncomfortable, it leaves the room abnormally empty looking. Like everyone else has experienced, the breakfast is not anything a person would personally spend money on or wake up for. I vomited afterwards. Then there is the nuisance extreme random noise disturbances from the other guests late at night and early in the morning that make it impossible to function. There are slamming drawers, silverware, doors, etc. The phone in the second bedroom wasn't working for two days. I wasn't told when maintenance would be arriving and due to the major language barrier of the employees I couldn't understand the housekeepers that came to the door and they couldn't understand me either. "Jim" came unannounced with Ixcel Mendez after a mobile app message relayed there is no linen service for stays of less 7 days. He was quite rude, repeatedly asking to enter the room with the closed door, assuming the dead phone was just "unplugged". In conclusion, my room requests were not respected, once I checked in the staff have been nasty, my requests were stifled by ignoring me, my hotel account has been repeatedly tampered with. read more

It was okay , we had the studio room on 4th floor and the pool was right under and kids would make too much noise and you could hear in the room every time someone was in the pool , the wifi was okay not fast but okay . The room was nice the kitchen had a oven as well which was nice ! The staff at the front desk was nice and helpful . The housekeeping ladies didn't clean very well , i would get the room cleaned while i was in the room and they just seemed to get it over with as fast as they could didn't clean the bathroom vanity or the floor so yeaa .... Aight look, on the surface this place looks pretty tight. However when you experience one night you'll realize this place ain't got the clout it claims to have. The TV is old as heck and ain't compatible with any other devices. Kitchen is cramped and the stove burners are mad crooked. The dang closet is a pain in the yap to open and close. Room service just ain't cut out to deal with anything; they didn't clean or replace the toilet paper or do jack squat. The bathroom light went out and they never replaced it. Horrible customer service in desperate need of extensive retraining!!!! Received 3 different stories from three different front desk attendants. Checked in on Friday, June 19th for two rooms. Was asked for a credit card for "expedentials" at time of check in. I asked if there would be a hold or charge on the card because it was a PayPal prepaid Mastercard and let her know I would go get an actual credit card from my vehicle if there would be a charge. Attendant assured me that she would not charge the $20 hold for each room on my prepaid card and that she ran it for $0.00. LIE!!!!!! After getting notification from my card late Saturday night/Sunday morning that there is $40 pending charge from Marriott, I asked the front desk attendant Sunday morning at check out about the charge (explaining what the checkin girl had said she was doing) and asked when it would be released back to my account. I was told because my card was also a debit card that it would take 5-7 business days and that I should know that my card would've been charged because that's what happens when you check into a hotel. (Because I apparently look like I stay at hotels alot?!?!) I was then told she does not have the authority to waive that charge and was told about the very small printed sign on the counter that stated the length of time debits are held. Which it was so small I could not read it and I'm only 36 years old!!!! When I told him I could not read the sign because I don't wear my reading glasses just for kicks he gave me a crummy attitude and said it was there and everyone should read it. So apparently I need to always bring glasses and READ EVERY LITTLE THING IN THEIR FACILITY SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO DO THEIR JOB?!? IT IS NOW 2:00PM ON THE 7TH BUSINESS DAY, TUESDAY, JUNE 30TH AND $40 IS STILL ON HOLD IN MY ACCOUNT. When I attempted to call today to speak to a manager, who is never available (surprise, surprise) all I was told was that they have a sign stating it on the desk that it is 7-10 business days for debit cards and that I should have read it at time of check in and gave another card and an apology that no one there can do anything about it and I have to continue to wait for the money to be released. There is absolutely no customer service, no manager presence and everyone at this facility doesn't know what they are doing and just yes you to death to get rid of you. I DON'T WANT YOUR APOLOGY, I WANT THE $40.00 YOU HAVE FROZEN IN MY ACCOUNT!!!!! FIX THIS AND TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES CORRECTLY OR RESTAFF!!!!!!!!!! I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS MARRIOTT OR RESTAY. Also, the shower liners are caked with mold and your room was only lightly cleaned before I entered it. (There was a wad of hair in the bed.) It was disgusting! read more

The property seems to be in decent condition, but the bed was definitely not up to normal Marriott standards and was only about 6 inches thick. The sofa bed was absolutely the cheapest mattress you can imagine and you feel every spring in it. The kitchen worked fine, and we had no problems with the internet or the TV. It would have been nice to have a few more kids channels (Disney?). We stayed using points, so no real complaints other than the mattresses. I would not pay to stay here. read more

I stayed two nights at the property and it was a good hotel. The staff was friendly and courteous. Check in was a breeze; they made it very easy. They had fresh chocolate chip cookies on the counter; piping hot - I love them when fresh. Went up to the room and it was nice corner suite (I got an upgrade). Everything worked fine; it was a good value. Finding the place was easy and the location was great; just behind the Chili's which I went to for dinner the first night. More on that in my review for them. Overall, a great experience at the hotel. Now the good and bad: they offer a free shuttle service as far as the Mall of America. That is great and a reason to come. They gave me a lift to pick up a Uhaul rental and the driver (Bones) was great. Very entertaining and friendly; he even gave me directions on the best way to come back to the hotel. Dropping off my rental car at the airport was a different deal. Bones gave me the number to shuttle service and I have had experience with this chain's shuttle service at the hotel by Mall of the America, so I know to call WELL AHEAD of when you need them to pick up. So I called at 9:50 to tell them I was at the Avis Counter (I wasn't, but I was 5 minutes away). The guy Shawn told me the driver would be there in 10 minutes and told me where to wait. I turn in the car and get to the pick up spot in exactly 10 minutes. No shuttle, so I call. Shawn answers again and says please hold while he locates the driver. 10 minutes on hold and I hang up. I call again and get disconnected; I call again and talk to a nice lady who tells me the driver will be there in 10 minutes (yeah, I heard that before). So, at 10:25, the driver shows and he says he just clocked in at 10:10. He apologizes for the mix up, etc. He calls Shawn after I told him I called 4 times and have been waiting for 45 minutes (well, it was 35 minutes), but I was ticked off. Shawn tells the driver I only called once. So if you call this service and get Shawn - ask for someone else. Just keep in mind the shuttle service, while a great offer, is free and you get what you pay for. read more

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom unit. The rooms are dated and barely furnished. For a room which is supposed to sleep 6 persons, there was only a small table with 3 chairs....we had to use the desk chair for one member of our party and the other had to wing it. There was only a small 2 person sofa, and I use the term lightly, and one arm chair present....how can a family or larger party sit down to enjoy a relaxing evening.The bathroom has no exhaust fan in it so it is a mold factory waiting to happen. One of the reasons we chose this property was the hot breakfast which is supposedly offered. The first morning there were fried (overcooked) eggs and sausage. No fresh fruit other than overripe bananas, oranges or apples was available. Our second morning the only solid protein source was hard cooked eggs. This is not the sort of breakfast I expect at a hotel which purportedly caters to business travelers who expect high quality for their money. It is not in my mind unrealistic for these offerings to be of a significantly higher quality especially since on this same trip we had stayed in long term rooms in a competitor for several nights in our first city, where we were consistently impressed by the amenities provided. When I come to the Minneapolis area, I will never stay at this property again and will likely avoid any TownePlace suites locales as a result of this experience. read more
