You know how companies will say they will Stand behind their customers well some say it but don't do it. We returned a rental car , there was no damage and 4 employees saw the car when it was returned. Well Townsend Ford did stand behind us and worked with Enterprise to make sure it will not happen to their Customers again. Was looking at buying a used vehicle from this dealer, started to work with Bradley, got approved and was ready to move forward. Dealer did not want to attempt or give aide in pointing me in the right direction to register out of state. When I went with another dealer who was able to secured a similar match I got nothing but rude and snarky replies upon updating the dealer that I had gone with another dealer. had an appointment to get my mirror replaced. When I gave them the car, the new mirror was put on incorrectly., and then they began to say that that is not the correct mirror even though you can see, it's overlapping the edge of where the mirror sits in. They also broke the mirror on my way out , that I gave them to install. So destruction of property, and lemon law that's their infringements. This has been by far the worst experience I've ever had at dealership, even the general manager told me they can't do anything other than just give me $40 for the mirror.... He should've just replaced it and got it fixed correctly. And not bullshitting me about them not being able to fix Ford mirrors.. and just because I didn't buy it on the Ford website for $180 doesn't mean that that is the wrong product!! All dealerships have suppliers where they buy the same products from!! so for them to just try to scam me and say that they're not responsible for the work because it is an aftermarket part is pure BS!!! They shouldn't have done any work on it in the first place!!! But they sounded so confident and getting my mouth fixed so I gave him a chance... incompetence, if they don't have employees that don't know how to do the work then don't do it!! They say they call in a specialist to work on my car specifically my car... and yet here is the type of work that they do... and they were gonna charge me 300$ just to stick a mirror on... read more

Townsend Ford - My new truck! - Auto Repair Near Me - Townsend, Massachusetts

Brought my wife's bronco here for extended warranty work after three local auto shops confirmed I needed a new transmission. Was sold $2,000 worth of work that didn't solve any issues then they told me I needed a new catalytic converter for $2,500 and that the transmission was completely fine. Felt skeptical and brought it to a transmission shop who confirmed after testing the transmission, o2 sensors, and back pressure that the transmission did in fact need to be replaced. Called Townsend Ford again, voiced my frustration about the issue and specifically asked if I would have to pay a diagnostic fee again in which I was told no. After I brought the car back for them to check it again, they told me it then needed a $700 repair and that the transmission was fine. Told them to forget it and I'll bring the vehicle elsewhere and when I arrived, surprise surprise I was met with attitude and being told I had a diagnostic fee. Brought the vehicle to another Ford dealership who within 24 hours confirmed it needs a new transmission and that it's completely covered under warranty. Townsend Ford Service Advisors are the most dishonest, untrustworthy individuals I've ever had to deal with and I will happily be taking both my service issues and new car sales for my business and personal use to another dealership moving forward. read more

So I saw a used car online, good price took the long drive up. Salesman was nice. I knew what I wanted so I made it easy on him, too easy. Was there on a Friday, decided on purchasing the car, had to get a certified check so left there with a we'll call you Monday once its all set with the insurance co and we get a sticker on it. Long story short, Monday went into Tuesday ( not sure whose fault insurance or them??) Made a appointment for 10AM Tuesday to complete transaction and pick up car. Salesman was not there and no explanation where he was ? Was handled by a few different people cause the car was NOT READY. Waited almost 2 hours , had to chase people wheres the car?? Was handed one key, your all set...no I want 2 keys...oh ok, here you go, how about the registration? Oh yeah here you go....so disjointed and just like Im bothering them, after dropping a chunk of change. Car was not gone thru from their auction purchase of it. I honestly have no idea if they did anything to it. They didnt change the balding tires or vaccum the white dog hair off the carpet ( saw that a couple days later). So now I will take my 3 year old car to a local mechanic and have it gone over cause Im fairly certain beyond putting gas into it, they did nothing. Have not heard word one from the dealership after the process so I guess one and done is their sales motto. Do not waste your time unless you already live up there and its your only choice. For the record: every other car I looked at ( same age/mileage) had 4 new tires and had been gone thru top to botton. No quality control here though. read more

Took our suv to ford for repairs and tires. Made an appointment which is a joke. It is drop vehicle off in morning and we will keep it all day. Get a call at 3pm saying they wont be able to finish my suv. So we had to leave it another day. Work only takes like 3 hours so you kept my car all day and didnt do shit to it. I kind of need my vehicle. That is inconsiderate. SUV was finally done at 130pm. So they didnt even do the work first thing in the morning. Seriously rediculous that this was handled the was it was. You would think to apologize they would take a little off the bill. Nope not townsend ford. Never again will I go to them they do not care about customer satisfaction at all. read more

Walking into Townsend Ford is like stepping back in time 50 years. There is no glitzy decor and gourmet coffee stand but you don't miss them and I was glad. Yesterday I had the pleasure of dropping my car off for adjustment to my rear hatch door, and Townsend Ford delivered unparalleled service in car service as well. Even though I showed up a day early, Debbie in service gave me a loaner car and managed to get my vehicle serviced by 5 pm. Townsend Ford delivers exceptional customer service from the Sales floor to the Service department. The dealership is run by expert hands which is evident in customer service, attitude, expertise and even how clean and tidy the dealership space - inside & out - is maintained. The cherry on top is our new Ford Escape Titanium. We had not owned a Ford in 20 years and we are very happy to have returned to the brand. I was surprised that the Ford Focus I drove as a loaner yesterday was as quiet and comfortable to sit in as my Escape. Ford isn't cutting corners in its vehicle line up. After owning two Volvo cars for years in the past, we are enjoying the ergonomic and comfortable design of our Ford seats and the complete lack of road noise in the passenger cabin which makes the great sound system a pleasure to enjoy on our weekend excursions around New England. Townsend Ford is a good dealership, but unfortunately they have a lousy product. I bought a 2017 Ford Fusion Platinum, top of the line. It has 13,000 miles on it, and it has failed to start THREE TIMES. The first time I jumped it, the second time it was towed from my garage, the third time it failed to start was in the parking lot of the 99 Restaurant in Fitchburg. I cannot wait to get rid of this car. I was even stupid enough to buy the extended warranty. I cannot have a car that I cannot depend on, and this is a car that I CANNOT DEPEND ON!!! WOW, I just went to the this dealership for the 2nd time the first time was in January. I got an e-mail for a survey from my first visit there. Well when I was checking in the women in the Service Dept. wanted to know why I wrote such a bad review. OMG in front of like 5 people I'm like "I don't remember when was it? she said January" I'm thinking to myself she's actually confronting me on this in front of people. I said I don't remember and I'm not discussing this in front of people. If they were professional about it they would of called me but instead I got ambushed. Then all of a sudden the Service Manager Joe Sullivan AHole comes out and again ask me why I wrote a bad review? I'm like OMG I don't remember so when It's time to check out he throws my review in my face again I said "I'm not discussing this in front of you and other people" he says well it's my people. I'm like ok whatever I'm still not talking in front of people. He couldn't pull me aside and ask me or call me back in January really?? Well I told them after spending $200.00 and waiting over an hour and half to get a key programed done. I told them all I'm not coming back to your dealership. I'll go to Gravis Ford in Ayer. What a bunch of bully's and how dare they treat a customer like that. One of my reviews stated that their dealership is run down like all the others in MA. I've lived in AZ, and FL and they all have state of the art new dealerships. He say's get this "Well this isn't Kansas City LOL what does that even mean. The service department is the worst I have ever seen. They change their prices and cannot tell the truth. Brought my truck in for a simple fix and they made it so it doesn't even run never will I be back ever. Spoke to the service manager and basically he tells you you're out of luck. If you value your car don't go anywhere near them A few days later I get a message to call and see if they can work out something. I called and spoke with them and they refused to do anything and denied giving a response on yelp. But you can read it for yourself and they just continue to lie. What a waste of time. Never again. I've sat on this experience for over half a year now, and have decided to write about it now. This time last year, my car decided to have every problem under the sun within a few short months. Around springtime, I was having yet another issue with my car. I took it to my go-to mechanic, and due to it being a difficult intermittent problem, I was referred to Drum Hill Ford to check it out. $500 later (including the diagnostic fee) and two new sensors, and I thought my problem was solved. I was having the same problems crop up several weeks later, and Drum Hill Ford was unable to see my car right away, so I went to Townsend Ford, a dealership well known to people I know, and who have had good experiences. I paid for another diagnostic down here. My car was all over the place; the wrench light was going on and off 10-15+ times while driving, and my car was on the fritz. I took it down, and I was eventually told my transmission harness may need to be replaced, and that it would be a several thousand dollar fix. There was no guarantee this was the problem. I was absolutely inconsolable at work, where I found this out, because I had no idea how I would either A) pay for such an expensive repair that was the equivilant of the blue book value of my car, or B) have transportation in the interim while I decided whether or not to repair the car, or pursue a new option. When I got there, I was shown a water bottle partially full of black transmission fluid, and was told this was pulled from my car. This was the only talk I had of my transmission fluid, and this is a key point in my review. The fluid was NOT replaced, even though it was jet black. Nor was a transmission flush recommended to me that day. During the few back and forth visits I had made to this dealership, I had also perused a few cars one day, and test drove another car. I made it clear I was only considering my options at the time. I was offered a trade-in on my car close to the cost of the repairs I would have had to make as well. I did not sign on a car that day, because I wanted to weigh my options, research dealerships and private sales with used vehicles available, and bring the car back to a central location so I could either tow it back to Townsend Ford with AAA, or have my mechanic look at it again. While I was driving back to Lowell from Townsend, a miraculous thing happened. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. They had pulled some bad transmission fluid out of my car, and suddenly the problems were gone. I had an a-ha moment. I took the car down to my mechanic. I asked him to check my transmission fluid. It was still black. He did a full flush and replaced my fluid. Guess who's car is still working perfectly fine over half a year later? It needed a transmission flush. A flush that costed well under $200. There was nothing wrong with my harness. There has been nothing wrong with my transmission since. I do not trust this dealership. I was treated well while I was looking at vehicles and while interacting with their maintenance department, but I felt extremely betrayed after this experience. I was a wreck when I thought that my car was undrivable and beyond the scope of what I could afford to repair. I went from a several thousand dollar repair quote down to a repair that cost me under $200. I will not be utilizing an overpriced Ford dealership in the near future because of this experience. And if I do decide to remain with Ford when my car needs to be replaced (in its own due time), I will not be utilizing this dealership in any way. read more

I found myself with a flat tire yesterday while waiting to pick up my child at school. They came to me and aired up my tire enough so I could drive it to the dealership. They were able to plug the tire and the price was very reasonable. Every staff member I spoke with was so friendly, and I really appreciated that the waiting area had a toy box to keep my kids entertained. I will come back to them for all my truck's maintenance because they were awesome! read more

I brought my 2015 F-150 Platinum in for a warranty repair. I was having electrical problems with the "blind spot" & "cross traffic" sensors. I did not buy my truck from Townsend Ford, only because they didn't have any of the new 2015's yet. I was planning on getting all my services done with them, and purchased all my aftermarket items through them. It was bad from the start..... The service lady initially didn't want to service my truck because I didn't purchase it there. So I flat out asked her "so because I didn't purchase from you, you won't service it". She reluctantly made me an appointment, but had a real attitude. Well, once the mechanic got in my truck (unbeknownst to him I have a Blackbox camera in my truck) all I heard the entire time was "F%#k this truck, F%#k this guy, he didn't buy this truck from here". Another mechanic came over while he was trouble shooting my vehicle, and they can both be heard saying "F%# him, he didn't buy it here". They went on to say "these trucks are overpriced prices of shit" & "I would've bought a dodge". Needless to say, they didn't fix the issue I was having, but believe you me, I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE EVER! The only reason I didn't make a complaint was because the guy didn't beat the crap out of my truck on the (2) test rides he took it on. read more

Most people cringe or shy away from working with dealerships for repairs. Some have reputations of "finding" a lot more repairs than a car was originally in the shop for. This is not the case with Townsend Ford. The service department is very thorough with their quotes for repair, keep the customer informed of when the repair is completed. They will let you know if there are some repairs that could be pending but do not high pressure you to do them that day. I have bought all my vehicles from Townsend Ford since 1998 and will continue to do so as well as schedule my repairs and maintenance for my vehicles. read more

I had an experience that I thought I would never have. The Ford Service Manager actually told me to not come back if I'm not happy with the service at Townsend Ford. He said there are many other Ford Dealerships that will honor my warranty. Here is what transpired to have this Manager tell me not to come back. I bought 4 new tires from Townsend Ford back on November 2014. I purchased the Goodyear Assurance since I do 95 miles a day I hate replacing tires every couple years, the Goodyear Assurance are 70k mile tire. In August of 2015 I noticed very LARGE cracks on the side walls of 2 tires. Took the car to Townsend Ford and asked to have someone look at the tires and see if they will be covered under the manufacture warrant. The ( I think a mechanic) said yeah that isn't normal and both tires were replaced under Goodyear warranty. Now it is January 2016 and I have another tire showing signs of cracking. The tire that is showing the crack is one of the two tires that were replaced under warranty in August. The tire is only 5 months old. These cracks are not dry rot cracks. Took the car to Townsend Ford again and asked for someone to come out and look at the tire while I was there. The Service Manager came out and looked at the tire. We discussed the issue and I was getting the feeling he thought I was trying to pull something over on him. He asked me why I even noticed the tire cracking. I told him that I had a low tire light on (for a tire that doesn't have a crack). It seemed a bit weird that he would ask me how I noticed the tire. I told him I have never had issues with tires doing this before and he laughed. Needless to say he got me a bit annoyed so we went back and forth. He just kept telling me that it was up to what Goodyear said, whether they would warranty the tire or not. I kept telling him that I don't care who warranties the tire it shouldn't be doing that. If Ford is selling the tire and the tire fails under normal usage Ford needs to cover it. I don't care who your supplier is, I bought it from Townsend Ford. The conversation went to me explaining that the tire purchase is the first time I have been back to Townsend Ford in more than 5 years. Several years ago I had my F250 in for broken exhaust manifold bolts, I think everyone knows about those on the 5.4. Not everyone knows, there is a federal law that states the car maker has to fix parts of the exhaust system for a certain number of years (I forget the exact no. years, I think 10). Townsend Ford was trying to charge me 800 dollars to fix the bolts. When I cited the law they said oh you're right, it was fixed for free! When I told him that I haven't been back to Townsend Ford since that exhaust experience about 5 years prior to the new tire purchase. I told the Ford Service Manager I am un-happy with Townsend Ford's Service department he then told me I don't have to go to Townsend Ford. The tires will be warrantied at any Ford dealership. I really don't feel the conversation was at that level that the manager should be telling me not to come back, I'm happy not too. I came back to Townsend Ford figuring I would get 4 new tires and start going back to Townsend Ford (can't hold a grudge forever). I haven't had anything but problems with the tires. I have had 3 tires replaced in just over 1 year for Steel belts shifting issue (that's what the mechanic called it). I didn't at anytime raise my voice, attack the manager personally nor use swear words. Was I upset and showing it, yes. My voice was raised a decibel or 2 and maybe argumentive but no more than he was with me. I was talking to a sales person about the new trucks and how expensive they are and the sales guy asked why I was there. Explained everything and just as I said I was not going to buy from Townsend Ford the Service Manager opened the door. He complained to me about spreading bad feelings throughout the departments in Townsend Ford. Townsend Ford just lost a couple sales. I have a 2010 F250 6.4 diesel that I plan on replacing in a couple years. Most likely I will be in the market for a F350. Also my Ford Fusion is good for another 2 or 3 years after it is payed for. I will be buying a new Ford Fusion again to replace that. I won't be buying from Townsend Ford, since I was told not to come back. I'm not looking to get the Service Manager in trouble, I would just like to go to a dealer that is just down the street from me. I have had great experiences at other Ford Dealerships. I couldn't even get a loaner car from Townsend Ford and I bought my car there. When I was in Florida this past summer my truck broke down. The low pressure fuel pump went south (literally haha). The dealership gave me a loaner car for free and said, hey go to the beach while your truck is worked on. I can't see Townsend Ford giving that kind of great service. read more

I felt no pressure to have to pay for anything extra and they gave me the best price for my car! Better than any other dealership I researched! I drove an hour and 15 minutes round trip to pick up a bolt for a Idler Pulley from Townsend Ford paid $12 for the bolt only to get it back and find out the bolt wasn't even close to being the right part. I called Townsend Ford and was told we're more then willing to refund you on the bolt if you drive it back an hour and 15 minutes to us or mail the part back. Its a $12 bolt I'm not wasting that much time, gas, or money on shipping to get it back. Any decent company would have offered to just refund the cost of the bolt over the phone and say sorry for selling you the wrong part. Apparently not these guys. I didn't buy a car or truck. I don't even live in the area and have not for almost 30 years. But a couple weeks ago we were visiting the area and had a Ford rental vehicle. My daughter dropped some weights from her darn fidget spinner down the slit where the seat belts come up in the rear seat. I could not figure out how to get the seat cushion up and get her weights out. I stopped by Townsend Ford and went into the service area. The service manager came out to help me after I explained the problem. She did not see how to do it either and had one of the service mechanics come out and he helped me get the seat up so we could more easily reach down into the seat belts and get the weights. Very good customer service. My daughter and I were very appreciative of the time they took to help us even though the vehicle was not sold by them and we had no relationship with them otherwise. read more
