What used to be a 5 star shop has turned into a joke. We brought our vehicle in for repairs before a 1500 mile road trip. We never got calls from them that the part was delayed, pushing service down to the wire to be completed the day of travel. They guaranteed service would be done by a certain time, when we called around that time, work hadn't even been started (twice). They lied to our faces on multiple fronts so we had to cut our time loss and buy the part locally (which they said it wasn't available locally, but the first Google result said otherwise) and bring it to another shop. The other shop found the ACTUAL problem within 10 minutes (part HM ordered wouldn't have even fixed it). If you've got the time for trial and error, HM might be fine. If you don't want to take the chance, go elsewhere. read more

Recent service on our Mercedes S560 included routine oil change, filters, brake flush, etc. I also asked that the tires be checked for wear, an alignment and an auxiliary battery malfunction and the cost to repair those items. All service was performed on time and on budget. In addition, the car now rides better than when new and HM Motor Works provided information to get the most miles on the new tires. There is no fancy waiting area or free car wash as provided by the local Mercedes Dealership, but believe I saved money and received far better customer service at HM Motor Works! read more

HM is the best...period...the best. I have many cars...from exotics (like Ferraris)...to vintage (like old Mercedes and Jeeps)...to daily drivers (like BMW X5 and 528) and Haleem and his team know how to work on all of them. The prices are great, the work is top notch, and the timeliness is astounding. They diagnosed things that the dealers could not. For example, in my 1994 MB SL500, it would die driving down the road with no warning. The MB dealer could not fix it...and my old independent mechanic in Manchester could not fix it. But HM did (bad ECM that failed when it got hot due to a crack in the PC board). And my Ferrari 360 had tons of CEL problems...which HM sorted out after my old Ferrari independent could not. And my X5 had a very weird problem where a bad check valve that allowed make up air into the gas tank had failed...resulting in my tank collapsing due to the vacuum and it moving in the straps and hitting the driveshaft (and getting destroyed). The dealer could not figure it out but HM did. Go there...they are the best. read more

In desperate need of a brake fluid change, I decided to head to HM Motor Works as it was the closest Motul dealer to UMass Lowell. Haleem was very easy to reach over the Facebook page and coordinated with Rick for me to pick up my DOT 5.1 fluid. In the excitement of witnessing the assortment of German and Italian cars in the garage, I had forgotten about taking back my debit card after my transaction with Rick. When I finally found out where my card was, I was very happy to hear that Rick had held on to my card and was even willing to mail it to my home if I preferred. Since I wanted to thank him in person, I decided to drive back up and even asked for his help in sourcing a window regulator for my dad's E66 7-Series. If I was not easing into doing weekend DIY's and/or living one hour away from this shop, I would not hesitate to let them to work on any of my cars. I could already tell from Rick's enthusiasm and knowledge that they can be trusted to perform quality work! I brought my Tacoma in for some work on the recommendation of one of my friends. I had been looking for a mechanic that I could trust after having some bad experiences at other places. I have some experience with working on cars having replaced motors, transmissions, brakes, etc. in my vehicles over the years. The estimate for the work I needed was exactly what I expected it to be. There were complications (which is why I brought it in) and Jacob and Chelsea sourced the extra parts needed. Going out of their way to ensure that my truck was finished that day. This was my first experience with Haleem and HM. I brought my Jeep in for a lift kit install and new wheels and tires mount and balance. They did a great job. Price was good, they were done when they promised and they did a nice job loading old tires inside without getting everything all messy. I will definitely go back with my Jeep or my wife's car when I need additional work. As a bonus they are active in the community, Merrimack, donating money to local sports teams. My car is vibrating when I on bumps and axceed 55 MPH. I brought my car to HM Motorworks because they are soposed to be specialist on Audis. After the "repair", they claimed that they test drove my car. They said that the repair improve the ride of the car. But when I drove the vehicle I did not see any change or improvement in the ride of the vehicle. The vehicle is still vibrating on bumps and at 55 MPH or greater. They stated on my invoice that the vibration I described is normal Audi vibration. I find it hard to believe that that a vehicle such as Audi would have this type of issue as being normal. However, they offered to look at the car free of charge to figure out what was wrong with the car. It turns out that my car has after market wheels which requires spacers. The spacers we're missing. They ordered a set directly from the wheel manufacturer (over night shipping) and installled them the next day. There was no charge for the labor, but I had to pay for shipping and the part. I priced the parts online, it appears they over charged for the parts initially replace. They don't charge dealer prices but there are other shops that do just as good of a job, but charge less. I would not recommend this shop for any repairs. read more

They perform reliable work using good materials, however they charge Dealership pricing. They are more accommodating in scheduling appointments than Dealerships and perform smaller jobs in a reasonable amount of time while you wait. Your call whether to use them for convenience or go to a certified Dealership. read more

Best find for my Audi TT Roadster. I've been there three times now and every time they've provided some of the best service I've ever experienced. So far they've performed mostly standard maintenance work (oil change, tires rotated and balanced, state inspection etc.) brakes on all four wheels, replaced my wiper arms (I had a broken arm and they sourced two matching used arms online that match the car perfectly and saved me big $$ vs. the cost of new Audi parts). They replaced a bulb on the front end that another shop (who I later found didn't know the proper procedure to even access it) told me had a "bad socket" that immediately blew out the bulb when they replaced it. They told me I needed to visit an Audi dealership for diagnostics and repair. Rick pulled the appropriate panels off with a special tool, replaced the bulb and put it all back together in under 10 minutes. Best thing by far is the service - extraordinary and fair. These are nice people. Sarah runs the office and is knowledgeable and courteous, Rick is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced, a very talented mechanic, as is Haleem, the owner. Not only are both of these guys awesome mechanics, they are fair and honest - we all know that's not always the case - in my experience, it's an unusual phenomenon. I'm sure the other mechanics are talented and likeable as well, though I haven't yet personally worked with the rest of the team. These are people you can trust and the kind of guys you would like to have a beer with. Another nice feature is their website that provides information on your vehicle such as repairs and maintenance that's been performed, service schedules for your vehicle and automated appointment reminders via email. I'm relatively new to the area, but thankfully I've already found HM Motor Works. This is a truly awesome Audi shop...I'm absolutely sold. read more
