I have tried to use them twice, and both times they did not show and did not call. These were pre-set appointments and I provided the dispatcher with multiple phone numbers to try in case they were running late, etc... Of my three airport taxi experiences, this was the only place that didn't give me a call before arrival and actually showed up a little late. Price was on par with other cabs. Interior was a little smokey. Overall, I'd say temper your expectations from previous reviews. ** As an update to my original post, they've turned out to be more unprofessional than I thought. Talk about squandered second chances. After some lukewarm experiences with this service in prior years, I recently was in a position to once again order a car for a trip to Penn Station. I called in early and was very careful to spell out my address, my name, and the time of pickup, 4:45 am. Well, this morning rolls around, 4:45 comes and goes, and I am still standing outside. 5 minutes later I get a call from a rather rude individual saying "Somebody needs a Sedan?" I confirmed this and was told "I'll be there in 12 minutes". This was 4:49 am. Alright, that's ridiculous. Being the careful sort though, I had gotten the cab extra early, just in case something like this would happen. So here I am, standing outside, in the cold, for another 15 minutes. 5:05 am. The phone rings. "Yo, I am outside your house, waiting for you". Umm, no you're not, I am right here. "No, I am right in front of your house, ______. It's off of Joppa Road!" I come back and tell him he is wrong. "I'll need someone to help me with this", and hangs up on me. Now, the street he told me was totally wrong and Joppa Road is a long way away from me. Tired of waiting for this incompetent, I just hopped into my car and went to to the train station myself, incurring the ludicrus parking charges for my week away. Oh, by the way, I never heard from the guy again. Towson Sedan, once a good company, needs to take a good luck and who they employ, especially since he apparently lied to the dispatcher as well. One thing is certain. They will never get my business again, nor my company's or anyone's in my circle. read more

This company should be ashamed of themselves and their license should be revoked. They are not safe for public use. After seeing the subpar reviews on this company, I was very hesitant to call or book them but considering that I was a party of 8 people and going out northwest of Towson a bit, my choices were very limited and figured that I would confirm my reservation with them a few times and what is the worst that could happen? So I called a day in advance and spoke to Crystal to who assured me that my party of 8 would definitely fit in the van that I booked with her. She said I was all set before even asking for my phone number, which should have been red flag #1. She said she put down what came up on the caller ID, which was my house line and a driver never would have been able to get in touch with me. Since Crystal seemed less than competent, I called back a few hours later to double check the reservation. I spoke with another woman who couldn't find my reservation, but found it after a few minutes since it was under my house line number even though it was supposed to be changed. This woman assured me it would be changed to my cell phone number. She proceeded to tell me that my party of 8 wouldn't fit in a van because they only hold 6 people and put me on hold to double check with someone else. She said I would have to book another car in addition to the van...so I did. The day of my event arrives and because of the terrible service and lack of knowledge these people running this business have, I decided to TRIPLE confirm my reservation. I called again and a man answered, sounding as if I may have just disturbed him from his afternoon nap session. He struggled locating my reservation because it still had not been changed to be listed under my cell phone number. Long story short, he confirmed my 2 cars for 11PM at the location. At 11PM...no one shows up. I call the company at least 5 times, and no one answers. 11:30PM rolls around and someone else from my party finally gets someone from Towson Sedan Service on the line....They tell him, they don't know when they can have someone come out to us but can find out and call us back. THANKFULLY, we were able to secure 2 Uber cars that were luckily in the area, despite that it wasn't a common place for uber cars to be driving out to. Towson Sedan Service should be ashamed of themselves for how they conduct business. Car service is a serious service when promising people a safe and secure ride from point A to point B. People count on car service reservations and shouldn't have to feel trapped and stranded on the streets (in the rain on this particular night as well) at close to midnight, after triple confirming a reservation. A day in advance I scheduled a pickup for 8:30am. At 8:35 I called and was told my car would arrive in a few minutes. At 8:45 I called again and was told the driver needed to speak with me. At 8:50 the driver called to say he was 30 minutes away and asked if this was a problem. I had a 9:00 meeting with a customer so yes this was a big problem. I called the customer who accepted my apology and graciously picked me up. I certainly won't call these people for a ride back to the airport! read more

After my ridiculous experience with the cab, I riffled through the phone book to find a replacement for my ride. The tip-off for Towson was their website and 800 number (1-866-321-4735). Fine, they're probably more expensive, but the driver was polite and helpful and the car was clean. I didn't feel like I needed a bath after emerging. read more

RE: Taxi Cabs: I had two phone calls with Towson Sedan to confirm that I would be picked up the next morning at 5:45 AM for a Surgery Appointment at Hopkins at 6:30 AM. They Never came. At 6AM I was lucky to see a free Jimmy Cab to hail to get there just in time. The moral: If you have a time-sensitive trip, leave plenty of time to have a backup for a no-show. read more

I called at 5:40 to tell them that nobody picked me up and the operator on the other end of the line could have cared less. If you're in the business of being a car 'service,' then you should be focused on customer service. If you thought Jimmy's was bad, you really ought to give these guys a try, because I must say, they take poor service to the next level. This morning, I called at 12:00 PM for a sedan to Baltimore. The driver got lost and didn't show up until around 12:45 PM, even though I live about 5 minutes down the road from their headquarters. Then, when we did get to Baltimore, the driver actually drove in a circle to get to where I needed to go, which meant I got charged for a mile more. The driver also asked me how to get to Baltimore, which I just thought showed incompetence. Will not be taking Towson Sedan Service in the future. read more

I gave them a 2 1/2 hour window to get my mother 45 minutes away to her granddaughter's wedding. She missed the wedding!! The first driver was afraid to drive to an unfamiliar place (really???) and the second driver simply came too late to get her to the ceremony on time. So my 96 year old mother missed the only wedding she'd ever get to see. She managed to get to the reception, but that was of little comfort. They were horrible and totally un-apologetic AND they charged us full price. Stay away!!! read more

I've used Towson Sedan in the past without any problems; however, in recent years I had a job that did not warrant traveling, so there was no need of them until recently. I made my reservation early, and realized that morning that flight times, etc.,. have changed, so I called them at 0700 telling them that I could be picked up anytime after 0830-0900. To make a long story short at 11 am and after multiple phone calls to the dispacher and driver, I called them and decided to cancel them and get a local cab company out of Va to take me to Baltimore. Wouldn't you know it?, at 1115 while riding in the other cab, I get phone calls from the other driver telling me he is there waiting for me. Customer service needs to be stressed here within their ranks. read more

I have used them for several years and only had a problem here or there mainly due to a communication problem due to flight delays etc. They have always been reliable and very friendly. They take the fare and tip in advance on credit card so it is no hassle. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. Waited one hour for a taxi due to the driver's inability to find the pickup location because he didn't know how to use his GPS. When he showed up, I opted to forego my trip rather than get in the cab. It smelled like an ashtray, was filthy, and in lieu of a trip monitor there was writing in pen on the back of the seat explaining (I think?) that the cab is cash only. If anyone has another car service they use that is better, would love to to know what it is! I called Towson Sedan ("TS") to pick up at 615 for a 7pm train. at 620, we called to check and they said that the driver should be arriving any moment. 20 minutes later at 635, we called TS and they still hadn't come and they said they couldn't get a hold of the driver and then hung up. I called back again 5 minutes later and the sassy woman on the other line exclaimed, didn't you just call a minute ago? and i said Yes, but you hung up on me, and then she hung up again. I called again at 655 and i spoke to the other person working there and he said that the driver they were trying to contact, but couldn't, was the ONLY driver available for the night. Let me get this straight. it makes sense to have TWO OPERATORS for ONE driver? PUT ONE OF THESE PEOPLE ON THE ROAD! I told the guy that they said they'd call us back to give us a status update on the driver and at that point, I'd already missed my train because they were 45 minutes late and that is completely unacceptable. Then he finally asks me if I want him to call someone else (if this was an option 45 minutes ago when you couldn't contact your "only" driver, then why didn't you contact them....45 minutes ago?!?!) 15 minutes later, someone arrived on our driveway....An hour after someone was SUPPOSED to arrive. It was absolutely infuriating. The guy they sent was a 3rd party driver. I got his number and from now on, I'll be contacting him directly. read more

DO NOT EVER WASTE YOUR TIME CALLING THIS SEDAN SERVICE!!!! They are extremely rude and useless!! I just called for a car, and was told to pick up my phone when the driver calls, so i get the call and I'm told that she will be here in about 10 minutes...30 MINUTES GO BY, NO CALL! So i call the sedan service back telling them about my car not arriving yet, and she tells me to call the driver myself and hangs up on me!!! ISNT THAT HER JOB??? Anyways, I call back and ask for a new driver very nicely and very calmly, Im told that she's already put in a call for a new driver and to answer my phone...20 minutes goes by no call, So i call and a man answers the phone, I am explaining my frustration to him and what is going on, right in the middle of me talking, he rudely hangs up on me. Thinking and hoping it was a mistake, I call back, and you'll never believe what they do, ANSWER THE PHONE ONLY TO RUDELY HANGUP WITHOUT SAYING ONE WORD. Terrible service! I called a day in advance for a 4:15 a.m. ride from Blakehurst (senior citizen complex in Towson) to BWI and called again the night before to confirm. The dispatcher had a disrespectful tone of voice, but told me the driver, Jasper, would arrive at the entrance to Blakehurst at 4:00 a.m. and he would call me to come down for my 4:15 a.m. departure -- she had my cell phone number to contact. I arrived at the entrance at 4:00 a.m. with my cell phone and there was no driver and no phone call. I waited until my scheduled pick up at 4:15 a.m. to call and the dispatcher with "attitude" told me she would dispatch the driver. I asked how long it would take as I had a flight to catch and she said he would be right there. When he was not there by 4:30, I called the dispatcher again and there was no answer. Then I got a call from the driver saying he was on "83" -- obviously he was not going to arrive in time for me to catch my flight. At that point I called a local cab service, which arrived right away. When I was in the cab, on the Beltway, well on my way to the airport, the Towson Sedan driver called to say he had arrived at Blakehurst -- this was around 4:45 -- 30 minutes after my scheduled pick up! Infuriating! I just barely made the flight and would not have made it if I relied on Towson Sedan. Meanwhile, I have used this service intermittently over the past ten years going between Blakehurst and BWI and have noticed a deterioration -- the phone serve is lackadaisical, bordering on rude, the cars seem to be seedier and the drivers overly chatty and not professional. This company is completely unreliable, unprofessional and absolutely useless as a car service. Twice we have tried to use them and on both occasions they failed to show up, despite repeated calls. After the first miss, they told us that if we paid $5 extra, we could reserve a car for the following day. For trip two, we did just that and were assured that we would have a car. When they didn't show 30 minutes after the reserved time, we called again and were told the driver tried to call us for directions (what, no GPS for a professional driving service??) and we didn't answer. This was not true, as no call had come. Then this dispatcher told us they couldn't call the driver because they didn't have his cell phone number. The bottom line is that we never heard from the dispatcher or the supposed driver and never got our ride. We would hitchhike at midnight before we'd use this company again! read more
