Great local "dive" bar! Super friendly peeps and good prices. Billiards, darts, shuffleboard and multiple large TV's on sports. Large stage and dance floor with live music on the weekends. So I'm not a local and I'm not trying to kick Auburn nor the locals in the shins here. We came here because we were looking to play some pool.. Place is easy to find, parking seemed sufficient, the inside is nice, with lots of memorabilia, 4 pool tables, 2 dart machines (some images show foosball tables, but that must have been a tournament or something). Great beer selection and really nice service from the ladies behind the bar, getting our pool table "stuff" and closing out the tab. NOW, The tables are rough, they are about 5-10 years past their service life and need some work. It would be nice if they took a weekends book and put it back into the tables. Re-felting and servicing them so they were not lopsided. Bumpers need work and their cues are in really really bad shape. (yes nothing is free and yes it costs money and yes humans are terrible creatures, so it's easier to have "crud" there and not care what your cliental does). BUT!!! You have folks from the outside, where they want a good beer (you have that) and a chill place to hang (you have that) and shoot some pool, wellllllll you can play pool, but it could be so much better. read more

We visited Pistol Pete's Brew & Cue on Christmas Eve to celebrate with friends, including a recently honorably discharged Marine catching up after years apart. The female bartender was the only one working and was unfortunately unwelcoming from the start. Our Marine friend always pays cash for drinks and generously tips at the end of the night based on service quality. However, when he didn't tip after each round, the bartender became rude, started ignoring him at the bar, and gave him attitude despite him being polite and patient. Things escalated when he ordered drinks for himself and his brother (two of the same Coors beers). He was charged $7 for his while his brother paid $6. When he asked about the price difference (having paid $6 earlier), she openly admitted: "$6 for him and $7 for you" because he "doesn't tip." He explained that he tips in cash at the end, but she responded with more attitude and walked away. Later, she apparently told his brother she didn't handle it well, but the damage was done. This felt like outright punishment - essentially overcharging a patron for not tipping per drink. It's dishonest and unprofessional. We're grateful he paid cash and didn't leave a card open, as it raised concerns about potential misuse with unhappy customers. I've thought about this for a while, and it still bothers me. Good service earns good tips, but retaliating by inflating prices crosses a line. Sadly, this experience makes me hesitant to return. read more

This is a great place to hangout. But my friends and I had a terrible experience this last time we were there. There is an older woman bartending that was just utterly rude, making racist comments to my friends, and being aggressive in general. This in my opinion is drawing away customers as we found the racist comments very discriminatory. If I were the owner I would not have someone like her working under my establishment. read more

Served us expired beers. The Ultra's were 8 months expired. When we told them they were expired, they responded "that's why they are $3.75" Apparently they serve expired beers on purpose. Also they didn't let us know about the pool fee. When we asked for a pool table they just asked to hold an ID. They were were leaving they charged us $10 an hour for the pool. We don't mind paying for pool, but it would be nice to know the rate ahead of time. Bad service, will no be coming back. read more

This establishment is my sanctuary. I have never in my time, felt so cared for, in such an intimate matter, then when I was served at this pub. You can walk right up and be overcharged for a far below mediocre beer that flows out of a filthy tap. The sediment in my lager really gives me that "freshly brewed" feel. I often mangle my pockets to rip a corner off a sawbuck by accident, then slam that note down like Randy Orton, order up two boilermakers and finish off with a mouthful of ice that taste like I just licked a lint trap from a dryer. After I put my shoes back on, I skate over to the bogger and liberate my kidney reserves. There's nothing like a variety of slander written on the moldy walls of the washroom. Finally, I had a night off from my work (it has been the rodent equivalent of tax season in the lab lately), and I decided to call up a lady friend I met in passing in 2017. She was wearing a Mickey Mouse T-shirt, which naturally segued into me passing her a business card and commenting, "Hey, honey, did you know mice's teeth never stop growing? Dr. Marris Dare." She texted the number on the card solely to tell me my shoes had been untied, a neglectful oversight on my part. I responded with an emoji of grapes, and this was the extent of our contact. Since she did not tell me her name, I resorted to inputting the name Danica St. Rage, as this name has been in my arsenal of rodent names for many years and I felt this was the time to deploy it. Danica St. Rage corrected me, stating that her name was something like Yolanda Waye, but this did not pose any issue as the night progressed. For those of you at home wondering, she did, in fact, agree to go out with me. This is how I wound up here at Pistol Pete's Brew and Cue. Knowing next to nothing about Danicanda, as I fusion-named her, I simply assessed the situation, noted her fondness for the color teal (a rock near her door eminationed the hue when I looked at it), and I decided that she would enjoy a night of karaoke. First things first, I am still reeling at the staffing situation of your establishment. I always try to be patient with businesses whose staffing is limited due to the pandemic, but good God, with how many humans inhabit this planet, how on Earth did you wind up staffing this collection of the greatest employees I have ever encountered? This facet of our voyage so exceeded stupendous that I believe it ventured into marvelous territory. I inquired with Danicanda if she was familiar with the musical stylings of CAKE. She proudly told me she was not, so I opted to broaden her musical horizons with my cover of Short Skirt/Long Jacket. She seemed to enjoy the experience, as did a woman in the audience. For good measure, I sauntered up to her with a business card in hand, and I commented, "Hey, madame, were you aware that the African spiny mouse escapes predators by shedding its skin? Dr. Marris Dare." After a rousing success of an evening, a loving kiss from the spiny mouse woman, and a make-out session on a pool table with Danicanda that was soundtracked by a drunken Generation X male, wt. 185-214lbs, singing Rod Stewart's "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" I came here for a friend's band a few nights ago and it was fun to reminisce in a bar like this one. Honestly if you're expecting like some crazy accommodations, you'd have to delude yourself quite intentionally because this probably isn't that kind of place. It looks and feels like a small town bar, and it is. I definitely liked the heavy wood furniture: tables and high chairs inside, and a couple of benches outside. I feel like those were newer additions to the décor but what do I know? Only been here once after all. The people at the front were laid back and friendly from what I could tell but I didn't really talk with them all that much. The drinks were cheap, no complaints from me. I got one cocktail and a three beers and that came out to 15 bucks. After clubbing in SF and Sacramento on DJ nights, I'd have gotten one maybe two drinks depending on where I'm at so that was nice change for a night. They also had a good variety of beers on tap from what I could see. The bartender was also very quick about getting drinks out, at least in my experience anyway. My friends had also ordered pizza but I had had dinner right before so I didn't have a chance to really try anything but feed my liver. Though I looked at the pool tables, I didn't play. Had other things to do haha. It reminded me of one of the few bars in Davis that had a pool table. The felt was pretty worn but looked like the ball would still run. Plus it is in a bar and despite probably enumerable chances that a drink could have fallen onto it, it isn't discolored. The smoking area reminded me of that bar too since it was fenced off, a little thin, and semi difficult to walk through crowds. The people were probably somewhat inebriated, but all quite friendly. Bottom line: It isn't my cup of tea currently, but I used to love places like this. You'd definitely be able to find others and have a drunk romp if you so choose; the experience that you can have with a place is what you make of it and the people you're there with. read more

Used to be one of our favorite spots to go to, until now. The newer bartender stole my husband's credit card and kept denying the fact that she had it. She then proceeded to be argumentative with me and yelled at me - I was completely sober. The other bartenders also wouldn't give me the time of day when I was trying to ask for help. They confessed two weeks later that they had it and finally gave it back to his friend who just went in after we had already cancelled the card and got a replacement. I love the local bands they host. Nice big bar with lots of pool tables, etc. Food is okay, but unremarkable. They have a good drink and beer selection, but good luck getting a drink if you aren't a regular. Had a bartender take my order, then disappear. I eventually had another bartender ask me for my order, so I ordered again. The first bartender came back with my drink, then the second bartender did as well. I just took them both because I had no idea if I'd ever get a chance to order another drink. At least everyone is friendly. I live closer to Sacramento, so I'll come back for the bands. read more

I love love love going to Pete's Tuesday thru Thursday because they have karaoke! The system is awesome, with 2 screens. They also just put in a pizza place... which allows you to order pizza til 2am. There's nothing better than having a few drinks, singing a few songs & eating a few slices of pizza with close friends. Hilights of their staff are Joyce (Bartender) & Rick (Karaoke jockey). Both are super nice, and sometimes you catch a glimpse of Pete walking thru with a huge smile. read more

Pistol Pete's is a decent option for night-time fun. I was in this weekend and it wasn't stupid-crowded. The drink specials were good (and by all reports, frequent) and the visiting band was actually highly entertaining. the pool tables were all Bogart-ed by sharks, but the darts seemed to have some good openings for epic one-on-one action. now i said that it wasn't all that crowded, but this place could really stand to be more heavily frequented. I think i would come here more often if i found myself in the area. not a good place to man-hunt. read more

Hi my name is Andrew and I enjoyed the time at pistol Pete's. Hooked up my guitar to the sound system a few times the bartenders said the equipment is expensive. They kindly let me know not to be using equipment the bar tender was even nice enough to give me a soda with refills the bartender paid for my sodas. My actions of using stage equipment was wrong I could of been 86d but they are very very good people who work there. I'm going to be more respectful to Pete and his equipment. I enjoy playing billiards darts and foosball table. Hoping that the sound system crew that comes in can help me with putting on a show I'm an autistic adult and the only way to connect with reality and my community is through music, stage lighting, live and studio audio science and math and technology.
