This was a great find. We were looking for a fun place to eat before a concert at Hard Rock In Wheatland. My friend found this through waze and we are so glad she did. What a charming welcoming place. The food was very good as well as the drinks. Service was fast and friendly. Its a very local place but they made us feel so welcome and encouraged us to come back and believe me we will!!! Appetizers were spicy cauliflower and zucchini sticks. Both excellent. Most of us had the cheesestake which was very good. I personally prefer provolone to Swiss cheese but everyone enjoyed it. A friend took us here and we ordered Philly cheesesteak and a BLT with fries. Also had a couple of drinks at the bar. For a dive bar, the food was really good and plentiful! We left very satisfied with what we ate, the prices were great too! We'll be stopping here again the future. read more

We heard about the new menu at Bill's so we stopped in to try some sandwiches. The service was great, but the food just ok for me. I had the beef dip and husband had the Philly. He loved his sandwich, but I wasn't thrilled with the beef dip. The meat was kind of gray and mushy. Seemed like decent sized portions though, and the fries are good, just super skinny. The au jus dip was good, just wish the beef in the sandwich wasn't so mushy. We've been coming to Bill's for over 10 years, and we used to love the steaks, but we stopped going when the size and quality of the steaks went down and the prices went up. We'll be back and try the burgers and chicken strips though. Love having a local place for quick dinner out. read more

Do your self a solid and stop at Bill's while passing Wheatland. The burgers and fries are the best tasting and deal anywhere. I had the thickest and tastiest burger with fries after hanging some fence wire. The bartender and the kid making burgers in the back are really good people. If U ever want to eat again don't eat here! I can honestly say this was the worst food I ever are in my life! It was 5 days after Saint Patrick's day and I ate a Ruben with corn beef that was so grizzly and nasty I tried to cover it up with ketchup big mistake! It tasted fishy too! My sister got a roast beef with a dip and it was flavorless and old tasting! Do not eat here! It should have the health department called on them or Gordon Ramsey! Barf! First time here. I like this place. The owners are friendly. Came in for food. The place is a bit dark inside. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries., and unlimited soda. The food area is at the rear of the place. You order food at the counter, but the owner's wife actually took our order at the table. Was here with my wife and another friend who is a regular there. Easy parking across the street at the park. Cheeseburger was tasty but a bit dry. Would be better if the burger patty was not as thick but made bigger in diameter. It would make a better balance of ingredients. I liked it just the same. Very generous amounts of condiments. I will be back. I really want to try the steak sandwich! read more

Such a great spot! The atmosphere was very enjoyable. Amber makes some fabulous drinks! They have a small selection of appetizers that you can enjoy and a guest cook that is rather impressive!!!!!! He made some AMAZING side dishes with beef or pork and whoooaaaaa to the flavor!!! Enjoy karaoke? They have it :-). They've also got machine for you to pick your style. Restrooms are very clean. Staff was friendly, just don't try to eat there before a show in Wheatland. It took over an hour for 6 of us to get our order which came out 2 plates at a time. This place is great! I will definitely be back. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. We ordered the: Zucchini sticks - perfectly crisp. Ribeye steak sandwich - steak was a little on the thin side but was loaded with garlic and cooked perfectly. Just passing through town and stopped in for a burger and were greeted by welcoming staff and seated at a table. Place was pretty empty but it was Sunday noonish and it seems to be primarily a bar. It was a bit early for drinks for us! We ordered burgers which were very thick, juicy and delicious with shoestring fries on the side. Prices were very fair considering the current state of the economy. Only bummer was the condiments were all in packets and out of sweeteners for the tea. The gal said they had recently relocated or remodeled, so not quite settled back in I guess, which is understandable. I've been here several times, but not recently until a couple of weeks ago. Atmosphere is cool, and the bar is still pretty great, but the restaurant now leaves a lot to be desired. You have to wait in line at the window to order. The night we were there they were out of several food items, including hamburgers. They didn't have a list of unavailable items posted, so I had to walk back to our table and reorder, then get back in line. When I was in line for the 3rd time because of the unavailable food items the order taker just turned and walked away. I hadn't been rude or unpleasant and she said nothing as she left. We had only been able to get drinks (thank you, bar!) but had already been there over an hour. Because of the food items being unavailable, standing in the order line 3 times, and the order taker leaving we been unable to even place our food order. We finally got up and left. read more

My wife and I went to Bill's with two other couples for a concert in Wheatland. This was our first time in the quaint town so we Yelp'd where we should stop for a bite to eat. Bill's has that dive bar type feel and we were pleasantly surprised that the food was really good. I had the Philly cheesesteak and my wife had the steak sandwich. Both were great. Drinks were strong and the price was just right. If we ever do another concert in Wheatland than Bill's Place will be our first stop when we reach town. Con: Expect to order your food at the back kitchen counter and read the menu from the countertop. No menus but the cook provides good recommendations. read more

Hmmm... Had a Pulled Pork Sandwich and Ms Wifey had the Famous Bills Steak Sandwich. Didn't bother drinking since it was not our kind of crowd. Pork was a little dry and lighter than desired spicely. Good but not Great. Bills Famous Steak" (sandwich) .."a slab of steak between 2 toasted bread slices.." Surprisingly DISAPPOINTING. Seasoning on the bland side, cut was not near prime, excessively grisstly (is that a word?), and ultimately disappointing for being the places name sake "famous" sandwich -.shouldn't it be worth bragging about?? Went here to eat twice in the last two days. Food was good both times. Haven't really visited the bar area yet. The reason for the 4 star rating was portion size of steak could be better. We went to Bill's place in Wheatland , We had just moved here and had heard they had great steak sandwiches . I recieved my steak sandwich it had 2 times the bread as meat and came with 2 cloves of roasted garlic and that was all. No mayo,lettuce , tomato, onion , It couldn't have been a 1/8 inch thick steak .It had no flavor the worst teak sandwich I have ever had . This place is a dive bar with decent food when they have it. Do not fool yourself into thinking it is anything other than that. I've been here a few times for both lunch and dinner. I have a soft spot for family owned businesses or what I think may be a family owned business but let me put my emotions aside. Cons: 1. poor air ventilation, so if you are an asthmatic DO NOT come in here expecting to breathe. The smoke from their indoor grill does not vent up, so you will often experience a smoke filled room and leave with smoked filled airways and clothing. If you have a smoke allergy don't eat here. Filter some water thru your clothes after leaving and you have your own liquid smoke to cook with at home. 2. It is dark! Now that may not be so bad considering the smoke and the wood walls. Dark hides a lot of things so don't go looking up, or down or on your dirty napkin dispensers. In fact don't really look at the wilted bagged salad they just gave you either. 3. You pay first, when you order, so if you get a bad experience, suck it up butter cup cuz you can't walk out and they are not known to apologize Or refund. I waited over an hour on 2 different occasions and was told it was first come first serve, don't know when it will be up and they're busy with a shrug. (Guess my dinner money will be busy next time I go out to eat) 4. Bar and restaurant are connected so you do not feel separate from watching a local small bar scene while you eat. Could be good or bad depending on what you expect. 5. They run out of food and dishes. And they don't tell you before you order. (See con #3) when they run out of dishes they use their to-go containers. This last visit there were people eating their wilted salad out of a to go container and we all drank our sodas from to-go cups. Dinner did come on a real plastic plate. After waiting an hour my steak showed up. They ran out of baked potatoes so I got a bunch of French fries. Oddly these looked different from a previous visit but after waiting so long who cares that the steak was undercooked and the fries were different and the salad was wilted and turning brown. (Dinner was steak on a plate nothing else) 6. THIS IS A BAR N0T A SALAD BAR! So don't expect a salad bar. Your salad should you choose it is basic bagged salad and choice of condiments from the area that serves as the salad/taco/burger condiment bar depending on the night. Salad dressing includes: thousand island, blue cheese with real chunks, ranch and I spotted a dirty bottle of oil and vinegar in the corner once. Croutons, tomato slices, sliced onions and other random thing like jalapeño slices. And you only get one trip to the salad bar. Believe me once is enough. 7. This is NOT a place for a relaxed family dinner. Yes you can relaxed (after a beer or two when the alcohol kicks in, assuming your not an asthmatic). Yes you can go with your family (assuming your kids aren't asthmatic and you are ok with them being in a bar). Yes you can get dinner (assuming they haven't run out of food and you wait long enough for it). 8. Bus your own table. Get your own utensils. Get your own drink. Lunch you get your own salad too. Dinner they ration the lettuce out so it comes from behind the counter/kitchen/storage so that part does get served to you as you pay. Pros: 1. Quaint, kinda cool decor if you like racing, cowboys or hookers. Seriously look at the decor it is cool. Just don't notice the dust. 2. The steak. I like it. I like salt. It works. Drink lots of water after eating to flush the salt out. 3. They put cloves of garlic on the steak. I love garlic. 4. Real blue cheese chunks in blue cheese dressing. Those that love blue cheese know this is appreciated. Bottom line: I won't be back. 3x is enough chances. Maybe it be different if I were looking for a place to celebrate my self despair. read more

This used to be ate favorite place but tonight was a Hugh disappointment. First off it was freezing cold inside. The salad dressing was water down to the consistency of water. Cheeseburgers or bust!!! Thats how I felt after I had one of their cheesburgers. A great hole in the wall with a branding iron feel to it. The crew I was with enjoyed their steak sandwiches. All the food is cooked on a hot grill that you can see from your own table. The burger was a fat hand made burger cooked medium just the way I like it. Nice size bar with branding equipment, mining gear, and Beale AFB memorabilia all over the place. Burger, fries, and a drink cost me $9.
