We had an entire new HVAC system installed after our 2013 model died. Brandon Cerda came out and…read moredid a great job of evaluating our old system and giving us options for a new system. He was very knowledgeable, professional and polite. We had a conference call with his manager Josh Estrada. Mr Estrada did a very good job of explaining the loan details on a recorded portion of the call. We had emphasized our need for a 20-year warranty for the heat exchanger, coils, compressor and parts because we did not want to have to repeat this in 10 years should the new system fail. I thought we made this very clear however after listening to the recorded call a week later, I saw that the heat exchanger does have a 20 year warranty, but the compressor and parts only 10 years. Some miscommunication perhaps on both ends. We went with the 3rd tier option because we thought it has a 20 year warranty on everything. It's energy efficient and eligible for the CPS Energy rebate. The system cost over $22,000 which was about $8k-$10k more than the Tier 2 option. The system itself works great (Goodman model) and is a huge improvement. The pull down attic door/ladder had to be removed to fit the new system in. I was informed of this at the end of the day. I would have approved it regardless but it would have been better if notified in advance. There were a few details that needed to be addressed such as adding a little more insulation to the main compressor line and setting up having a 3rd party carpenter to come out, reinstall the attic ladder/door and repair the wooden trim. It was frustrating in that I had made several calls to various people, texted and sent emails with little or no reply until about a week later. The attic ladder/door was later installed and looks great. There was also miscommunication in that I was told a QCI supervisor would be out to inspect the new system. I had a scheduled appointment and waited several hours. No one ever showed up. When I called about it they said I didn't need it because we live outside of the San Antonio limit. Then later someone said they were going to send the inspector. He showed up and gave me the requested paperwork I needed to complete the CPS Energy rebate application, and was going to leave without inspecting the system. I had him inspect it and was told that everything "checked out 100%." Brandon Cerda, the initial technician who assessed our old system and went over new options, was very helpful in getting a loan from Good Leap since this was such a huge investment. He was great in that he showed me a photo of the attic unit that had flooded the drip pan with oil and refrigerant. He said the outside compressor was still ok. Ironically the prior company which gave me an estimate never mentioned this and said I had a bad compressor. The point being that Goettl is very honest, knowledge, thorough and detailed in their work. The installers Matthew and Josh (a different Josh) did a very good job. It was an all day project. Josh did a great followup job in showing me the attic unit, answering all of my concerns, adding insulation to the outside compressor line, and going over routine home maintenance such as changing the HVAC filter and adding fluid to the attic unit's IV Bag (a device that injects a small amount of a special fluid daily to help keep the lines clear. Ignacio Hernandez (goes by Nacho) was helpful in calling about a week later to look into the 20-year warranty issue. He later sent an email with the recorded phone call where I heard Josh the manager mention 10 years warranty for the compressor. The recorded portion of the call did not initiate until after my wife dropped off the conference call. Although Josh was right, I still feel like he knew our need for a 20 year warranty because we spoke about it at length. The $22k HVAC system was at the end limit of our budget. We may had gone with the lower option if this fact had truly set in my mind. Regardless, it was a done deal. I researched and found after the fact that 10 years is standard for a compressor warranty unless you purchase an expensive 3rd party extended warranty. Call it a life lesson on my part. Goettl was very good in registering the furnace, compressor and coils with the manufacturer Goodman (this has to be done within 60 days of installation in Texas to get the full warranties as described 20/10/10). Overall Goettl AC & Plumbing did a wonderful job. Everyone was polite, professional and was not pushy regarding the sale of the HVAC system. Prior to this I got an estimate from another contractor and did not like their aggressive sales tactics. The new system comes with a 1 year Goettl service membership. I had actually paid for this the day prior to the installation so they extended it to 2 years. Having the membership will save you money regarding maintenance of the system. We also received over a $900 credit since we had prior repairs with Goettl and a 5% First Responders dis

The remodel took over six weeks, and during that time we were displaced from our bedroom and had to move into a spare room upstairs. Recently, I noticed the caulk around the bathtub seal was coming up. It took more than two weeks for someone to come out, and the repair itself took only about five minutes. Instead of handling it as a courtesy, I was told the work had been installed in January 2024, the warranty was only for two years, and I was a few months outside the warranty period, so technically I should be charged got a $150 service call. While he were here, one of the toilets they had installed also needed a very minor adjustment inside the tank. Again, I was told I was just outside the warranty period and would have to pay over $150 for a service call for what was essentially a two-minute fix. I understand that labor is not free, and I respect that service companies have to charge for their time. However, after spending nearly $40,000 with this company, I expected at least a little courtesy and goodwill for such small, quick adjustments. Instead, I was met with a rude attitude and a complete unwillingness to help unless I paid another service charge. My biggest issue is not just the warranty cutoff. It is the lack of professionalism, courtesy, and customer care after we spent so much money with them. The experience felt very transactional: take the money, then refuse to stand behind the work in any reasonable way once the big project was done. Based on our experience, I would not use this company again, and I would strongly encourage others to be cautious. Get every warranty term in writing, keep all documentation, and be prepared for them to request proof and charge service fees even for very minor issues. Or just avoid them all together and don't do business with them. Buyer beware.

He took 30 minutes to basically write a book on the invoice. I wrote that I don't agree with anything written by him on the invoice. I circled and double underlined that amount and signed it. I just want the toilet unplugged and will call a more honest local plumber.
