Shalynne gave me the fastest blowout I have ever had (I have long thick curly hair) and it lasted stick straight for days without having to use a hot iron. After finding Timothy Richard's on Yelp I called them up. They were extremely nice and accommodating, set the appointment and allowed me to pre pay for everything. All my sister had to do was show up. She said her stylist Marcy, was really cool and helped her decide on a hairstyle that would work for her lifestyle as a busy mom with three kids. She didn't feel pressured to buy anything unnecessary, and just all around enjoyed the experience. She said she would definitely go back, and even my mother is going to make an appointment for herself! The prices seemed extremely fair, but I am going by Chicago standards after all, where I easily pay double for the same thing. But based on my sister's rave review, I might take advantage of their services myself next time I visit!

When I arrived for my appointment, I was about 15 minutes late as I came from another appointment that ran over. I was told my stylists Brenda had left but the lady sitting at the counter could do my hair. I was like, wow, she didn't even text me, the response was " it's not her responsibility to text you". The new stylist offered was noticeably much younger, and I asked what Kathleen's fees would be. At this time, the blonde woman, (owner, manager?) refused to give me a price and kept asking me how much the senior stylist had quoted me for her service. I stated that as Brenda was no longer present and I would like to know how much it would cost Kathleen to highlight and cut my hair. The blonde lady got continually more aggressive and rude and told me I was agitated and that maybe I should reschedule. I told her I would not be rescheduling, and I was just asking for the price of the new stylist. Blonde lady continued to refuse price quote. Obviously, my hair was not done here and will never be. I took the blinds photo for my post and she threatened to call the police because I took her photo. This place is a real joke no wonder it's always empty. Fast forward to today and Hair Gallery was able to correct the previous cut and give my fiancé the cut she wanted and should've gotten yesterday. The stylists here are extremely knowledgeable, super efficient and very nice. Everything and more that you'd expect from an upscale salon! This will now be her go to salon for eveything. Normally, I don't ever come back to a colorist with issues, so this was a first for me, but I was glad to work with her to fix it. The management was awful from the start. I called to make my appointment and she had me tell her what I was having done. I have no idea, I don't know the different color techniques or what I should have done. Turns out they wanted to know how much time I would need in the chair. I would have no idea. Then I had a serious issue with the color itself. The front is brassy blond with odd root lines showing and the back is almost a white blond. But I was happy to go in for a fix. Management called me prior to my "fix it" appointment and I was grilled demanding to know my entire hair color history over the phone, I'm not a colorist so I had no idea how to explain it or what I was going to need to have done to fix it. The I was accused of being unhappy with what I told the colorist to do. Huh? If a customer is unhappy and kindly requests a fix, why didn't she have me come in and evaluate herself, rather than grill me over the phone? Turns out she was concerned about how much time I would require in a chair, again. Also, she informed me that I'd have to pay for the blow out after it was fixed. I am supposed to walk out with wet hair and assume the color looks good? She explained you weren't happy with the color, not the blow out. So, you have to pay for the blowout. WHAT? The tone used, the excuses, the blame the customer attitude and my hair still isn't the way I'd like it.
