Scheduling an appointment at LA nails was easy... Most probably because they seem to overbook appointments. I parked my car in the metered garage across the street and figure I'd pay for an hour a half... Wrong move. I had to refill my meter three times before I left... That's 3 whole hours that I was sitting in their facilities. Granted, the last time I filled my meter they offered to give me $0.50 in change because I failed to bring my piggy bank filled with $5.00 in spare change. I'm not an expert on nail polish by any means but I do get my nails done often enough to know that your nail polish probablyyy shouldn't be chipping after one hour. Well mine was. It's been three days since I've been to LA nails and my nail polish is almost completely gone. But hey, maybe I wash my hands too much. All that being said, I still give this place two stars because the staff is super friendly and I'm sure all you people who bought the groupon and are reading this will want some comfort in knowing you're not going to get jipped. You won't be complete jipped, although I can't say the same about your nails after three days.

I see Jessica for my curly hair. Love, love, love her. She's friendly, but not overbearing. She's quick. And most importantly, she's good. I hope she's here for a looooong time. It's no fun finding a new stylist! I also see Tacaco (sp?) for eyebrows. Very nice, very friendly, and very good at what she does. Also worth mentioning: the folks who wash your hair. Ahhhh! Best. Hairwashing. EVER. (tip these ladies!) It's easy to get appointments on a week's notice and I'm always able to schedule appointments for both services on the same time/within the same timeframe. The only other thing worth mentioning is tipping. Like most salons, it's straightforward: place your cash in a little envelope, address it to the appropriate person. The salon kindly allows you to add the tip amount to your credit transaction, then passes the cash to you for distribution. Strangely, though, one of the women at the front desk has on more than one occasion tried to *divy* up my funds on my behalf, literally shuffling my bills as if she were going to decide who received what. Um, no thank you (though I appreciate that this individual is looking out for her staff). I'll decide who gets what, if anything. To avoid this presumptuous behavior, I simply bring some cash for tips, give the staff their respective gratuity directly before making it to the front desk. Problem solved. Note to readers: I do look young to folks. And often I'm over-polite. I sometimes wonder if people assume I'm new to social etiquette and unaware? Who knows, but it's safer to give your clients the benefit of the doubt.

My coworker, after hearing me complain for twenty minutes about people that can't do nails, said she knew a professional that could do exactly what I wanted for only $45!!!! I was so apprehensive because I knew I wasn't asking for something easy, but I trusted her and am so glad I did! Margarita exceeded my expectations and was so kind throughout the whole process. I should have known something was wrong when I didn't get a reminder call but I figured I was set since the receptionist confirmed it. I called the day of my appointment (4/4) as I thought I might have the wrong time and wanted to make sure I was okay. When I called they said they had no record of my appointment. The receptionist placed me on hold for a few minutes and then a different person picked up. She too said she didn't see it and also that the person who did dermaplanning wasn't even there and had been out all week for personal reasons. Not a big deal but why wouldn't someone had called me to tell me (oh wait the receptionist never made my appointment)? To make matters worse it seemed like they didn't even care. No offer to make a new appointment when she returned and the most insincere sorry I have ever heard. She did say she could maybe squeeze me in for a regular facial which isn't what I wanted so why would I even say yes to that option. 8/25/20 Dispite how my last experience was, I gave this…read moreplace a second chance with a possibly third try. Upon Meeting Tammy, I saw a different side of her. I also saw her confidence was on a higher level than what I saw last time. Today I tried out Tammy's massage, but before I did, I was informed she does not massage the private areas of the body. She also wants you to keep your underwear on. You will be covered with a sheet unless you ask her not to. I figure since I have my underwear on, I don't need the sheet. It was warm enough in the office as well. Tammy's massage was at the level of Erik Von Kaiser. Whatever massage oil was used was bad. The oil seem to lose its slick feel. A lot of oil was needed in order for the masssge relaxing. Tammy's technique started out awkward and a little out of whack, but soon found rhythm. The chest, stomach and feet was the best parts of the massage. I know ever first time masssge with client and masseuse might be awkward and both people are learning what works and doesn't work. I feel this is the case and I am willing to try her again and see if things are different. Now comes the sad news ladies and gentlemen. The legs it was okay after several times of oil being applied to them. Unfortunately the largest muscle in the human body was not massaged, because Tammy calls that a private area. This is her place of business so she sets the rules. It did set a new standard for me. It showed me how important the glutes maximus is when it is not massage and the other 70% is. Still I said this is fine not knowing that private area includes the glutes maximus. When it was all said and done, the most memorable experience was the foot massage. Tammy is a very honest person from what I saw. She did go the extra mile to make things a memorable experience. I would like to say successided. I will be back for one more massage.
