I had ordered the Avitec Elivated Dog Bed over a month ago. I got an e-mail saying it was in and to come and pick it up from the store. The woman helping me at the store went and picked up a box that had my name on it and as she was walking by over I was telling her, I don't think that is the correct package! She opened it and it w as a big piece of black metal! Some type of a part for something? ? Anyway, I was disappointed and she said she would re-order it for me so she went back to the desk in the middle of the store to do it. I asked her if she needed my assistance for anything else and she said "no". Well along comes August,,, it is almost the end and I have heard nothing! I am driving by so decide to go in and. See what is going on. Well, first it takes about 20 minutes to figure out that the lady never did order the dog bed again!! I was NOT HAPPY!! Good grief! Here I thought all of this time it was in order . So one of the supervisors try's to help me. He takes me back to one of the store computers to order the bed. I have gotten everything in and the stupid card scanner is broken. Can you believe it!!? So the supervisor tries to call customer service. The phone rings for a day and he gets no one. Than he tests to call the line where he is supposed to get help and they send in an e-mail! Can you believe it!! I felt bad for him as he was really going out of his way to help me get this damn thing ordered!! Now his best advice to me is to go home and order it online like I did originally. Which I have just done. It will be interesting to see what they send this time!!?? Hahaha! Not a well run business and the infrastructure really sucks! read more

The new TSC off of Giuntoli, on the north end of the bay is a brand new construction building thats bright, open and loaded with everything from fencing to wood splitters and trailer hitches to chicks and ducks. If you have been into a TSC before then you know what to expect. If not then here you go, pretty much anything farm related, supplies, materials, livestock feed, equipment and everything "garden" related on top of guns safes and outdoor clothing. My recent stop was looking for a small quick disconnect for a water line, they did not have exactly what I was needing however I saw a lot of things that I could definitely find a use for! This is definitely the worst Tractor Supply I've ever done business with. 4 out of 5 chicks died on me within less than 12 hours and their management refuses to make things right. When I called corporate as suggested by the store employees, I was also told since I bought it in-store there's nothing that can be done but to let the district manager know. During that conversation I had to pull up my receipt for the customer service representative and saw that they also charged me for things I didn't even buy/have at the counter. They also had the audacity to tell me they weren't selling sick chicks. For background, I've been raising chicks for YEARS. Have had plenty of failure to thrives but I've never had 80% of them die that quick. Funny enough, I bought 12 from TSC in Crescent City the same morning, and not a single ONE has died. I think that says enough about their care for these birds in general. Beware if you shop here, they're about as useful as pedals on a wheelchair. read more

As a Southern California suburbanite with latent rural leanings, I always enjoy stopping into a Tractor Supply Company. Aside: each summer, my SoCal family road-trips to a tiny North Dakota town... and in that town, my eldest son befriended another boy his age. Each summer, the city kid and the country kid get together and compare notes, slightly envious of the other's experience, but proud to share their own at the same time. Where my son tells stories of soccer and swim team and Stranger Things drive thrus, his buddy shares tales of hunting pheasants from his own quad. I've always thought Tractor Supply is like that: the more country-ish cousin or friend of Home Depot! Sure, you can find ratchet sets and wrenches at both, but only TSC carries live ducklings and chicks, livestock feed, and a pretty decent selection of flannel :) This store is a newer addition to Arcata, and sort of off the beaten path. On our recent trip up north, we stopped into this store looking for propane. None here, mind you, but I still lingered in the store looking at all the cool stuff... the driving rain outside and the promise of a cold, wet campsite waiting for me at Patrick's Point probably helped my cause. In any event, this is a great store, especially if you're living in these places between civilization and the great outdoors. read more

While house hunting in the are we needed to stop in and grab a couple supplies like flash light, tape measure etc. and after misplacing said items, had to go back a second time to repurchase them. Oops! Either way, TSC has a standard selection no matter where you go and we always know just what they have. Here they had a good supply of just about everything except for Small Propane Bottles. They do however fill propane bottles here. Good to know. The folks here were nice and plenty helpful. No complaints other than they were simply out of stock after the recent quake. Understandable. Will definitely be back when we need supplies. read more

Not a bad place, great selection of items. Employees are nice but they put a deaf person at register while there are other employees that are perfectly capable. Poor thing couldn't hear me very well and I watched her struggle with other customers. Doesn't seem appropriate at all, shame on the store. read more

I was looking for a vaccine for my dogs and was helped by a store employee who was never smiled, was uninformed, and told me I could look on google for the information (like I couldn't think of that self). I went elsewhere. Later I found out that TSC does have the vaccine I was looking for, just not the trained employee I expected. read more
