I spend a lot of time shopping here, the staff is great and so helpful. The only reason I take it down to four stars is because of this darn pooper scooper that they have already replaced once. It's cheap plastic and the replacement just broke so I basically am throwing that money away. I just ordered one from Amazon and received it it is heavy duty metal and there is absolutely no way it can break. I spoke with the manager last time they had to replace my plastic one and told him he needs to order some in that are made of metal. I would prefer to spend my money locally but that could not happen here. Just really frustrating. It's not going to stop me from shopping at tractor supply I love the store. read more

Go big or go home. If you visit Chico, you gotta see where the farmer's daughter shops. This isn't Nordstoms, but they do have great boots you can wear if you're mucking stalls or competing at the Cow Palace. (Yes, that's a real place.) I hate to say, They have everything, and let it hang there, They have, pet supplies, farm and ranch supplies (no category for this on yelp), Western, ranch and gardening clothes and supplies. Somewhat like OSH meets PetCo meets feedstore. (no category for feedstore on yelp either) Honestly, go to their web site if you can't visit in person. They have everything and the service in the Chico store is great. I got my dog a Harley Davidson toy which makes the sound of a motorcycle and has "Bad to the bone" written on it. On certain things this store comes in Hnady. Saved about $20 on a wheel barrel wheel of all things becasue tractor supply carry's a-lot. Other things are reall on a per user basis. Staff is usually helpful and the store is usually clean. read more

I experienced complete incompetence when trying to order pants to be transferred from first the Tractor Supply store in Yuba City and then second from the Auburn Tractor Supply to the Chico Tractor Supply store. The employees at the Auburn & Yuba City stores were great, however Greg and Mike at the Chico Store need to get it together. I was told repeatedly that they would call me back and not once was I called. I only have the pants that I ordered because I called again to inquire if they had arrived. When I go to pick them up the employee tells me that Mike and Greg both did not know who the pants belonged to after having been called by the Auburn store to verify! Wow!!! read more

Had the real displeasure of shopping here some time back, got checked out by a real old prune of a bitch, I think her name was rebecca. taller, thin, 55-70 ish. Came over to open a new lane, and since guy in front of me had laid down his stuff, he said "go ahead man" I walk over to her register, and what do i get? a face full of attitude, and some mutterings about how she asked for next person in line. After which she refused to put my items in a bag, failed to thank me for my business, and left items on counter all spread out closer to her for me to reach and collect. well then.... Not the friendly, or positive place to shop for your farm and garden needs in Chico, Highly recommend feed stores, or big box stores, Tractor Supply should lose the chip on its shoulder- on 6/4/17 was my last, of previously many visits to this location, store #793, ticket # 52384 Cashier "REBECCA". This trip in was short, went right to the section I knew had what I was looking for, and in 3 minutes I was back up to the front registers. 1 lane open which quickly amassed 6 in line, me being 3rd, ones ahead of me checking out and laying out their items when much to my later displeasure "Rebecca" opened up register on end and announced she'd take next person. Seeing the person before me with items laid out, I turned and went to "Rebecca's" now open lane. To this she scoffed that I was "not the next in line". This I let slide without explaining the simple solution. Of course this set the tone for the rest of her SNOTTY ATTITUDE for the remainder of the transaction. Her next bit of lip came when she had trouble scanning the bar code stickers on my items, this apparently was my fault for coming in and deciding to bother her with the trouble of scanning an item that would cause her so much hassle. Then at the point of swiping my debit card, apparently I wasn't fast enough to enter the digits to make Queen Cashier Rebecca happy, she let me know by reminding me as my finger went forward that I needed to enter my digits. So, now that the transaction is finish she leaves my items just sitting there, no attempt to bag, hand them over or thank me for shopping there. At this I inquired if I might have them in a bag, to which she flies off the handle about how that'll be another charge as they now charge for bags, ok, no problem for me, I'll handle them without a bag, but you'd think I just purposely ruined the rest of her life ...I just said ok, nevermind, took my items up in my hand, and left with her final glare of anger in lieu of any thank you for your business. Well, I'm happy to say after that icy cold reception and display of manners by a 60 something yr old woman representing tractor supply co. I will gladly NEVER return, and I'm happy to say that the other retailers in Chico area have all managed to never treat me with anywhere near the lack of common courtesy as Rebecca at Tractor Supply. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Guess a simple apology was to much to ask for staff that could care less if the store delivers or not. Talks with manager and several store visits resulted in me not getting what was advertised on the memorial day sale after I was told the product would be there.
