So, I forgot the store existed. Then I moved here. And there weren't as many stores available to me as I was used to (coming from suburban Chicago). So I went to Big Lots one day and changed my mind. This location is clean. Spacious. Not weird at all. Actually had stuff! Now, when I'm on a quest to find a specific, reasonably-priced item in town, Big Lots is on my radar. Not everything is cheap, or great quality, or still good (some food items have been near expiration), but there are still quite a few gems in this store! I particularly like the home good sections, with reasonably priced floor mats, window curtains, dishes, etc. During the holidays, I will come here to browse the decor or gift wrap or ornaments. When I'm looking for a cheap toy or game for work, I'll look here. I do agree with the previous reviewer that the furniture is a bit too expensive though, considering everything else in this store. Do they even manage to sell any furniture!? It's hit or miss, but I'm content with what Big Lots has.

It was actually very clean and had a lot of good quality items. This location is in the quiet strip mall shopping center, where K-Mart used to be before they recently closed. The particular day that I was there, I was drawn in by the massive signs along the road indicating that they were having a 20% off of everything sale, that day only. Although I didn't end up getting what I was in the market for, I was able to snag a bunch of lawn ornaments, two dog beds and a few other items that I never knew that I needed. The lady at the check out was friendly and they seemed well staff and handled the high customer value that they had during the sale. The furniture department seemed a little overpriced, is my only complaint.

I have been hit with those damn carts more times then I can count and I realize that they're on a time crunch, but the fact that I am trying to shop as well and you're getting paid to do what you're doing are two different things. I'm a very respectful person and when I see them coming, I try to get out of their way, but at the same time I'm trying to do my shopping. Be respectful back. One of the things that bothers me. The most is when I go to check out there's only a few lines open with real people so I will go to self check out because I only have so many items, but you will sit there and stare at me while I'm doing it making me feel uncomfortable but yet when your machine acts up, I can't find anybody to help me because they're too busy talking to other employees are on their phone. You need to do better. Customer service should be taught. I understand that some customers get out of line and become aggressive and I don't agree with that, but I'm not one of those people. However, I wanted to see what was up with the place for myself. I went in there today and here's how I can describe the place: You know that shelf or rack at a lot of stores that has their closeouts and returns and opened packages? Imagine a full store of nothing but that. Out front was a bicycle with a big sign on it saying "salvage". They had a couple of well-used wet-dry vacs in the back, and a wall of opened-package (or used) small kitchen appliances like coffee makers and microwave ovens. There were piles of clothing for sale, not on hangers or any kind of organization, just dumped out on shelves or in boxes to be rummaged through. It almost seemed like a permanent garage sale in a retail space. If you want used and salvaged merchandise, they seem to have it. Sitting by the door was a man with a gruff expression. He wore a Deputy Sheriff's badge on his belt, so presumably he works there as a side job, is he supposed to be there to reassure people that the goods aren't stolen? He, nor the man behind the counter made any attempt to greet me, nor even acknowledge my presence in the store. While I was browsing, they launched into talking politics, where it was clear that both of them followed certain extremist conspiracy theories rather zealously. It made me very uncomfortable and I really didn't want to listen to it as I browsed (and they still hadn't even so much as said hello to me), so I just walked out of the store. I won't be back.

I…read morenever had anything against Kohl's, but when there was an abundance of Kohl's mixed in with so many other department stores within a ten-mile radius, I generally overlooked it (I'm not from around here). It wasn't a store I regularly shopped at. Target was my love. Now? It's the only decent department store in town. Funny how things change. The selection is good -- stocked with clothes, home goods, bedding, shoes, and all the usual stuff. The pricing? Eek. I think I'm just so used to finding things from thrift stores and Walmart (meh) now. You're better off buying things on sale --- the prices will be good then and the quality far better than Walmart (duh). I did find a good pair of moccasins for $25 one day, though. Not bad at all. I'll be back occasionally to check things out but don't know much I'll actually be purchasing. Regardless, I'm happy to have Kohl's!

I wasn't impressed with what I did see, either, so I decided to wait on this review until I was able to go back and browse without crowds. Honestly, I'm not keen on the trend of cheap, 'bargain' stores that have been popping up lately in Georgetown. Apparently people like their stuff cheap, and I completely understand wanting to save a few dollars, but in the end, you're still getting low-quality (*cough*cheap*cough*) stuff that will need replacing again and again. Bargain Hunt contributes to that. There is indeed a variety of things available for purchase; most notably the appliances, electronics, garden items, toys, and clothes. Throw in some snacks, home decor, and random knick knacks, and you've got Bargain Hunt. I did find a few things that I had forgotten existed (like Skip-Its and Rock Em Sock Em Robots) or that I had been looking for my child/home, but the prices didn't seem to be a Bargain. There was nothing in the store that I couldn't get elsewhere for similar price. The clothes were the worst -- obviously clothes that people didn't want and not priced low enough. I did find some Wrangler jeans for $10; so I suppose it really is hit or miss. The thing that really stood out? A majority of boxes were crushed/opened/re-taped -- clearly items that were unwanted or returned. I did, however, find one thing that I ended up purchasing: an indoor toddler trampoline for $20 (with a 20% off coupon I received on opening day). The box was slightly ripped and had clearly been opened before. At the check out I asked whether it was an item that had been returned. The cashier explained that most of the items in this store were indeed overstock items or returned/exchanged items from other stores. However, if I purchased something from Bargain Hunt and it didn't have everything and/or wasn't good, I had 30 days to return it. Good. I bought the trampoline. We opened the box at home, assembled it, and the trampoline was fine. It had obviously been put together previously, but all the parts were intact and there was minimal signs of use. We kept it. The only thing in Bargain Hunt that might prompt me to come back was the toy/sports section in the back of the store -- there were a lot of toys and games that I do not usually see in other stores. The garden stuff isn't bad, either. Otherwise? Meh. You're really going to have to hunt for a bargain here.

I've seen some of the items they've found at Bargain Hunt, and it's been good stuff, that they got for really cheap. That said, I couldn't find anything I needed here, but they did have lots of nice items. Both locations I visited were very similar, and thus my reviews are essentially the same for them. Both were semi-organized, with an area for outdoor items, bedding, home decor, etc. But, the store kind of has a "yard sale" feel, in that you have to dig around to find any gems. Overall I think Bargain Hunt is a fine spot to stop in and check out if you don't mind the digging. You never know what you could find!

I spent some time exploring this shop one afternoon, and I came across many interesting things. Nothing I needed, but interesting nonetheless. This shop, like many other antique shops, houses loads of old items scattered across multiple floors. Whether you're looking for books, toys, clothing, luggage, accessories, home decor, dishes, furniture (you get it.. the list goes on and on..), you can likely find it here. Or, at least spend some time exploring!

I took my new (to me) Hoyt Vixen to them to have the draw length adjusted, install a new sight, adjust the peep sight, and have arrows cut for me. I'm new to the sport and I know that was obvious but they were patient with me as they helped me get the bow set up correctly. There are plenty of sporting goods stores in Lexington that sell archery equipment but I think R&R is worth the trip to Georgetown for the level of service and selection they offer.

Dicks in Hamburg and Fayette Mall, Sportsman Warehouse, and Field and Stream are all cheaper and have qualified bow techs with a return policy. Field and Stream is the largest Hoyt dealer in KY with an extensive selection of products to choose from.
