Recently I was in Newnan for multiple weeks and decided to get him taken care of at this location. Wrong move, I should have just waited until we got back to Nashville. I ordered to have my dog bathed, ears cleaned, booty pressed, teeth brushed and nails trimmed. I had an appointment and showed up on time, I walked in as someone else, who was a walk in. They quoted him 2 - 3 hours since he did not have an appointment. Weirdly, even with my appointment I was pushing 3 hours before my dog was ready. If the timeliness was the only issue, I would not have been concerned, but when I showed up to get him, I could see his nails were still quite long. I pointed this out and they called the groomer, who had already left for the day. She stated that she needed to grind his nails instead of clips due to the color and she recommends I make anther appointment. Would have been nice to simply call, share your findings and then complete during the initial appointment. But, after also finding that my dogs ears were still filthy and his teether were haphazardly "brushed" I came to realize this Groomer was not about going above, or really even doing the bare minimum. Overall, I have shopped at this store from time to time and the service seems similar in all areas sadly. While I may pop in to the store on occasion, I will never utilize their grooming services again.

Specific instructions were given prior to my sons dog bath & brush, however we received a call stating some services weren't completed due to dog nervousness and being snappy. This is why we gave specific instructions to eliminate this from happening. After picking up our furry love one, she seemed to be happy and clean. Just wasn't pleased with the service here.

They said that she is "too old". Maybe they should instead train their staff in how to handle older dogs instead of just sending them away..luckily there are other grooming places that have the expertise to adequately groom dogs.

From the time we arrived it seemed like Ashley (the groomer) didn't want to work today. The 1st issue was his rabies vac...he has a rabies tag that is stamped 2021 yet Ashley made me go through the motions of downloading the paperwork. The tag clearly says 2021 there is NO WAY the tag was expired as rabies vacs last 1 year...but OK...so after downloading the paperwork and showing her the effective date we finally move to how I want him cut. I explained that he had a matted spot on his chest and that I wanted him short but hopefully not scalped. Ashley then used the matted area as the reason she could not cut him. She literally told me a VET would have to cut the matted area and that she found one on his front paw. I am not sure what she did to that area on his front paw but my fur baby was in my arms and NEVER growls at anyone while I'm holding him and he started growling at her as if she was pulling the matted area. At that point I decided it wasn't worth the energy or the effort to keep going back and forth with Ashley about the cut. We left and I called multiple vets only to be told VETs DO NOT GROOM ANIMALS. So the whole story of a vet had to groom him was BS. I wasted my time, rearranged my day and my gas to travel 30+ minutes for this appointment only for it to fail because Ashley didn't want to work today. Even worse, I called PetSmart, explained how Petco refused to cut him due to the matted spots and after a brief hold while the agent spoke to the head groomer, my fur baby was granted an appointment for tomorrow with the head groomer. No bogus story of a VET having to cut him or him needing special handling. That being said, I will NOT recommend this Petco location, nor would I recommend the groomer Ashley. To add insult to injury, I STILL went to the Petco in Peachtree City to get an item that Petco doesn't carry which makes the trip to Petco an even more waste of time.

But today 8/22/2020 around 7:00 pm was a horrible experience and I'm not quite sure we will ever come back. Big Lots, Newnan, Ga Cashier, I wish I had her name, yelled at my husband Charlie to get back 6 feet from the lady being rung up at her register. Charlie was 6 feet back and standing on the mark on the floor. Actually the customer at the register wasn't standing on the mark on the floor at the register, she was off of it which actually made Charlie further than 6 feet. Customer on the mark behind Charlie stated this to the cashier. Now mind you, both Charlie and I were wearing face mask! But she kept yelling. I was so frustrated at this point, I walked out of the store. And the customer yelled at me that I was too close to her, I said "Mamm, I walked around you, and I'm leaving". Now mind you she came up behind me and kept yelling at me. Then she went to her car and told her husband. A huge man stepped out of the car and watched me as I got into our truck. Charlie came on and put his purchase in the truck and got in. Now these folks waited in their car until we left then followed us to our next stop, Publix. Thank goodness they kept going and we turned it. It made both me and my husband very uncomfortable, I'm handicap and both me and my husband are senior citizens.

I am not sure if it came from underneath the sectional sofa that I had just sat on to see if it was comfortable. I was very interested in purchasing it. Back to the overgrown rat.. this rodent ran under a shelf when I screamed and ran. Only one employee was concerned or should I say asked that was wrong. So I told the whole store" there is a big ass rat in here". Well needless to say everyone kept on working as if nothing happened. So I left and will never ever shop at the Newnan Big lots store again. I gave one star because I couldn't leave it blank.
