Horrible customer service experience today at Tractor Supply. About 5 weeks ago I purchased some chicks, stating I needed layer hens. I purchased over 40 of them. After raising them for a few weeks, it became apparent that more than half were Bantam sized birds, not layer hens. I called Tractor Supply and spoke at length with a person who took the time to look up my purchase in the store's records. She told me I could not return the birds, but to bring in my receipt and I they would "help me out," and that new chicks were coming in the next day. So I went in today. The acting store manager was annoyed before she even spoke to me, stating off the bat that there is a 24 hour policy on chicks. I was not looking for a refund, or to return them, but a partial replacement/adjustment of some kind. She refused to hear me out, basically stating there was no proof I had purchased the pullets from Tractor Supply, inferring a fraud motive despite my receipt. She denied that I had been given contrary information on the phone, and had little to say at all except I was out of luck and to keep my voice down. Not a single word of recognition of my situation. What a poor representative of the company. Couldn't even make eye contact. I was there to buy 6 bags of feed. I just walked out instead. read more

Awful!! Drove to purchase an item that they claimed to have 50 of. When tried to purchase, advised that all 50 were " on hold"... wait, what?! I am there to buy and you are holding them?? Manager, Jenny, unhelpful. Cashier in knowledgeable! DONT SHOP HERE!! read more

Went and got 15 chickens, they were about $100, one of them had a broken/injured leg. The woman handling them was not nice, she was man handling the baby chicks and quite literally just tossed them around in the box. She was rude and had much attitude when we asked questions. Our baby chicks are all going strong but i don't recommend this location. read more

I went to a cashier on duty and said "good morning, how are you today?" She replied by asking for my rewards number. Clearly she was not interested in small talk. I provided my number and she asked me if I wanted a receipt. I replied in the affirmative. This young woman took the receipt out of the machine and handed it to me. That was it. She did not thank me for my patronage whatsoever. I don't need to be wished a good day but I should at least be thanked for coming out of my way to shop at Tractor Supply. If this woman is so miserable at her job, she needs to find another one where customer interaction is not required. If this is her first job, she is going to have a miserable life if her attitude does not change. This was by far, the worst Tractor Supply experience I have ever had. I can see that the reviews before this one were pretty poor as well. Guess no one gives a damn, sad. I can go to a grocery or hardware store and pay less for my goods and get treated better. I realize help is hard to get but you could at least train the ones you have. Thank you. read more

I ordered something to be delivered then waited over a month after they said it was delivered to store and people in store gave all sorts of excuses rather than try and find out a solution. Then i was just in there to get some ramps for my truck and looked around for 10 min before i finally found someone to help me find them. And it was not busy in store and all they did was point in a direction... Holy shit fire everybody. read more

A great store with competent and welcoming staff. I use TS about once a week, primarily for hardware, but it has become my go-to for truck and trailer equipment as well. I went there this summer specifically to bu a small trailer which was on sale for $999 (from $1200). The attendant told me that if I could wait a couple of days, the store was having an unadvertised "customer appreciation day" which would take another 10% off. Sure enough, I waited, and saved another $100, which was enough to cover the cost of a spare tire and trailer mount. This person did not have to tell me the trailer was to be further discounted. On several occasions, I have had odd problems (like replumbing the lake-fed water supply to my 100 year old cabin). You won't find a YouTube video on that. Another serviceperson spent the better part of 45 minutes helping be mix and match pvc pipe pieces (designed for agricultural sprayers) until we hand a working product. When I installed in Maine, it worked first try and save me hours of aggravation and really simplified the process of getting water to the house each Spring. Nice people, excellent service. Headed there now to buy new tail lights for my old boat trailer. The Stonington store has won a customer. Glad I don't need baby chickens though. I would be "hurt and betrayed" if there were none! read more

Tractor Supply's CEO, in my opinion, needs to go on Undercover Boss because he is obviously out of touch with how his business runs.Either that, or he doesn't care. In either case, it shows in the way his business runs. I ordered a wheel barrow at this store and was told it would be in within 2 weeks. When 3 went by with no call, I phoned the store. The manager had forgotten to forward my order and thought it very funny that she had forgotten to do so. I was not amused but was told, with no apology, that it would be in in another 2 weeks. I waited another 3 and then went to a big box store that wanted my business and bought my wheelbarrow. I went to the main website and wrote a complaint for which I received an acknowledgement ; I was told to expect a call from the store, I found out from an employee in the store that the manager intercepted my email complaint and destroyed it, so I emailed the company again and got no response. After that, I called the headquarters several times, and got voice mail each time. I left onemessage that was never returned. I left another message that was never returned, so I called headquarters and was told that the person I needed to speak to was unavailable and to leave a message. You guessed it: no response. I called the 800 number for a last time, and was politely asked to keep trying the main complaint number. I cut my losses and walked away. If they don't want my business, someone else does. My advice: go to a store that has an investment in your satisfaction. It is NOT Tractor Supply. read more

Where to begin with this establishment. The staff are rude and unwelcoming. Outside of the building they have a sign advertising baby chickens, but upon entering the building I quickly discovered this was a lie. I've never felt more hurt or betrayed by a company in my life. read more
