I love seeing lox on a menu, but many restaurants either don't do it well or serve portions that are too small. Here, everything was spot on, and the portion was generous enough that I left completely satisfied. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal, and my husband and I have already said we'll be back very soon. The espresso used in the latte was fresh, bright, and slightly nutty. They have a La Marzocco, and you can usually expect pretty good espresso from those machines. They use to have a space in the embassy building, but moved across the street recently into what is now Cafe Antigua. The woman working there saw me peering in the door and signaled for me to come inside. Ok twist my arm. Inside they have a few small tables and a counter w/plastic containers w/the food items that are available. I asked for a chili relleno and a tamarind soda. The chili relleno came w/a red sauce, cilantro, spicy red sauce (not really that spicy) & a queso type cheese. You had the option of eating it on tortilla or in a bun. I chose the tortillas. After eating the chili relleno I was still hungry so I tried a tamale (which she gave to me free of charge). The chili relleno was pretty good, but nothing outstanding that would make me want to rush back for. The tamale was meh nothing to write home about.
