Trader Joe's is my favorite grocery store, and this location is no different. The variety and quality of food/items is wonderful! I love how foreign/ethnic foods actually come from the country of origin! The staff is always friendly, pleasant, and eager to help. I find shopping here is fun. It's conveniently located next the ABQ Uptown mall and Winrock shopping mall, as well as near many uptown area businesses. So it just seems natural that I can shop here while I conduct my normal routines. This location has an enviable selection of affordable wines, and that alone makes it worth the stop! What can I say I love TJ's. I am the type of person that appreciates good customer service and the one thing about TJ's is the people that work there make the experience so much better and they make you feel very welcomed every time. Just a quick story, TJ's carries an amazing almond danish, needless to say they sale out quick! Welp being the fat kid that I naturally am, I started calling them and asking them to hold one aside for me every Sunday and I would then go in and pick it up. After a few weekends of me consistently doing that they just started holding it for me without me having to call in!! Now that is what I call outstanding customer service, I mean they know me by name. The other cool part about shopping at Trader Joe's is that you can always sample the variety of coffee blends they carry, they always have a sampler of coffee. What's not to love about free coffee! Great place especially if you like to try new food items, they import different things from different countries. For Christmas I like to get German cookies. It's a marzipan cookie covered in dark chocolate so yummy. I can go for days on the many items that are specifically found at Trader Joe's! Oh and not to mention the variety of fresh flowers they have which are very reasonably priced, I once bought a bamboo and orchid plant while the orchid did die after a few months my bamboo plant is still soaring after a year! Holy Cow!!! I went to Trader Joe's to pick up a few things for a friend that I had just taken for chemotherapy. When Gabriel asked me about the fun selection of items I had and what my plan was for them, I told him I was shopping for a friend that was having Chemotherapy. He wished her well and when I was walking out of the store he came running after me and brought me a bouquet of flowers to give her. Wow!!!! There still are some fantastic caring people left in Albuquerque. These days it is easy to focus on the crime and grime in this city but today and for this Christmas season I am going to focus on Gabriel and the wonderful caring people at Trader Joe's!! read more

I Love Trader Joe's, but the parking here (Louisiana and I40 location) is horrible! I've left several times waiting for a space competing with several other vehicles for anything. Where else can I get cookie butter spread, lentil chips, dried mandarin oranges, coffee rub, one of the better tasting salt free seasoning (21 seasoning salute), & the best hummus? I'm like a kid in a candy store every time I'm here. So many unique things to try. Plenty of organic & meatless options too. Love the lady at the cash register who suggested I buy several bags of lentil chips. Wish I listened! But it's ok, I'll be back. Why not the perfect stars? Trader Joes is the holy grail of organic and health food options!! And it doesnt cost you an arm and a leg for something as simple as Rolled Oats like it would at other places like Whole Foods lol. I love how simple they keep their store and yet they manage to fit so much products for all a body needs. Whether its produce, dairy, pasta, vitamins, hygiene products, wine, plants or flowers, deli, meats, they got it all! And mostly everything is a high quality products at such a great price! I love how i can buy an amazing bundle of basil for only 3$! And their produce is all organic yet still as cheap as any other non organic option from other stores. One thing i know they took advantage of is their mochi ice cream going up in price from years ago lol. But its still so worth it! They have the best, original treats and sweets offered which they all seem super irrestistable. My all time fave is their dark choc covered thin pretzels. Super addicting!! Every ABQ trip will have to consist a stop at TJs and since we came up from El Paso, i better make it a good, lasting one lol. read more

My favorite grocery store. I can feed a family of three for two weeks for about $70 from TJ's. The best part according to my daughter is that if you find the little Lobo mascot hiding around the store and tell the cashier, you get a lollipop! I only go regularly to Trader Joe's for 2 items. Their Salt and Pepper pistachios which are to die for. We eat them every day and I buy four packs at a time. I also buy their French roast coffee which we mix with the Starbucks French roast and it makes the perfect blend for our pallets. I would occasionally buy wine there when they used to have afternoon tastings which of course they don't have anymore because of Covid. I thought they often had good, reasonably priced wine which I could taste before deciding to buy a bottle or two. I find their fruit and veggies pretty expensive; however, almost everything is organic which I realize makes them more expensive. I know people love their frozen foods which I don't buy a lot of frozen items so hard for me to rate them. I will continue to go there for my favorite items and will continue to try a few other random items. They do have reasonably priced flowers if you like fresh flowers. Trader Joe's is a small grocery store but it takes me forever to go through the whole thing! The reason is that they have so many different foods from different places that you don't see anywhere else. I have to take my time going through the aisles so I don't miss anything. The store is surprisingly inexpensive! The produce is always top notch. Any food that is The Trader Joe's brand is non-GMO. I didn't know that until I walked into the store. The care they take in providing good, quality food is evident in each and every product I've tried. Their brand of wine is good as well. I used to have wine tastings with my friends where we would vote on which wine was the best but the bottles would be disguised so we didn't know which one was which. Whenever the Trader Joe's brand was brought into the mix it either won or it was a close second. And it's only $2.99 a bottle! read more

Since when did trader joe start to patrol the type of masks folks wear into the store. We were both wearing a three layered mask but with a filter and were told that there was a state law against allowing people with filter masks into the store. So when did this state law passed. I am usually up to date with covid safety. We went into Whole Foods and Sprouts without any problems with our filter masks. So, if you guys decided to change the rules, where is the sign indicating this change. And, as a courtesy to your customers during this very stressful time, trader joe should have had mask available. That is not a good way to treat your customers and poor customer service. read more

Although I haven't been to this location in awhile, I enjoyed my visit when I went. We don't have one in El Paso so it's a real treat when I get to visit this one or one in Houston. The customer service was very good at this location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The prices were also decent. Two things I really really like from Trader Joe's are: The wine and the mint shampoo and conditioner. I have family in Houston so they give me bottles of Trader Joe's wines when I can't visit. The last time I checked, Trader Joe's doesn't sell their products on a web site unless you go through Amazon. I'm not sure if that's changed as of now but hopefully it has! The mint shampoo and conditioner is amazing! I enjoy the tingling sensation it gives me on my scalp. I also like how my hair smells after using it. These are the main things I buy at Trader Joe's. I'd definitely buy more from them if they ever decide to come to El Paso. read more

I've been going to this Trader Joe's for over two years now and have never had any problems. The staff is almost always energetic at the registers and very friendly. This consistency in amazing service has kept me looking forward to get my groceries from Trader Joe's every week. I love how organized and clean the entire store is and that they do a great job of promoting the products at little tables in the back. That alone has helped me feel less buyers remorse when making purchases because I get to sample them beforehand. There is a benchmark for good quality service and consistency at Trader Joe's and this location definitely lives up to it.  The parking is very limited as with all Trader Joe's but is not something major. read more

I have been going to TJs in Santa Fe even before they opened in Albuquerque. Their currently policy is that staff masks to protect employees and customers are 'optional'. This is inexcusable. The Governor is Now requiring stores over 50k sq ft to wear masks. So this exempts TJs. But, instead of being ahead of the letter of law, they are endangering their fontline staff and customers... Why? What do they gain? Doesn't matter, it forces us to bigger boxes for our own safety read more

So I am super partial to TJs. I used to pick up a few of my addictions when I was on vacation and smuggle the food back into my suitcase on my way home. Then when the only location was in Santa Fe, I'd trek up there monthly to get my wares. So you can imagine I was in complete and utter bliss when Albuquerque got TWO locations. If you've ever been, hold on to your hats. These are just a few of the items that cannot be missed: lavash bread, fresh-sealed beets, canned corn (I'm not kidding that this is weirdly wonderful canned corn), cheese! (All sorts at prices half of Whole Foods). Ok. Really. I love everything there. Best thing is, if you're unsure, they WILL OPEN UP ANYTHING IN THE STORE and let you try it. (Never tried it with liquor though.) Who will just let you open up food in the middle of the aisle and let you try it?? read more

I am a big fan of the customer service at this Trader Joe's. The employees are always helpful, chatty, and welcoming. I shopped at this location while my grandparents were visiting me and one particular employee (I think his name was Carl) made an effort to get to know us and practiced his Spanish with my grandparents making them feel very comfortable. They usually are embarrassed to speak their native Spanish in public because of discrimination they experience because of it. This employee not only made them feel comfortable by speaking with them in Spanish but also gave them a free New Mexico TJs reusable bag for them to remember their trip to NM. On every other occasion I've shopped at this location, I've found good quality products that mostly satisfied my needs. They don't have the largest meat selection (I like to buy my good cuts of steak from TJs) & I was disappointed to learn that they don't sell ground veal like they do at some other TJs locations. I was happy to find very large clamshells of fresh basil here, they only sold small containers at my old TJs (Annapolis MD). Overall, I really like this TJs and will continue to shop at this location for as long as I live here in ABQ. Trader Joe's might be my kryptonite. I alwaysssssss end up with a few extra things in my basket that weren't on my list. And then there's the samples....they get me just about every time. I would say 9 times out of 10, I end up buying what they're offering. I'm not even sure I could narrow down what some of my favorite Trader Joe's items are, but aside from the fantastic customer service, thoughtful wine assortment, delightful collection of european chocolates and sweets, and the vibrant floral assemblage: 1)The cheese selection - It's like the fort knox of cheese over there. 2) Fabulous produce selection, and the pre-cut butternut squash...can we talk about it? 3) Spinach and artichoke dip...crack. 4) Sriracha waffle cut kettle chips. Pre-cooked Korean short ribs, warm 'em quick on the grill, goodbye one solid hour. I've heard "Go to Trader Joe's" for YEARS now! I'm thinking, man, this has to be the best place to go! So I went and brought my husband along, and here is our story. I walk in and immediately I was disappointed. I don't know what exactly I was expecting. One good thing is, I was able to find everything on my list, but not exactly what I wanted. It was the most awkward shopping experience ever! It was small and very confusing. The produce was not good and were pricer than I thought. It seemed as if there was a small selection of items you could buy and not wide variety. I guess I was expecting Whole Foods meets Costco. Then again, not really sure what I walked into. I'd give the store 4 or 5 stars if it wasn't for the poorly designed parking lot. I've been to a lot of Trader Joe's around the country and this one takes the cake that I've seen for worse parking lot design. That's including some of the ones in Boston where space is more of a premium than Albuquerque. The isles at this store are wide and easy to navigate with a cart which isn't always true at the TJ's in larger cities. read more

Not as big a selection as the one up north on Holly and Ventura. They don't have broccoli here, and have been out of several items that I like for three weeks: the green juice, breakfast burritos, and yogurt that I like. However, unlike other Trader Joe's locations that I've been to in other states, they have their own parking lot, as opposed to sharing with other businesses, so they get some points back for that. read more

Love this Trader Joe's in ABQ! It's always clean and probably the quickest at checkout. I like going to this one because they always have my favorite almonds and el cumbre beer in stock. It feels like I am comparing an organic apple to another organic apple as opposed to an organic apple to a hot pocket. I'd go to traders Joe's over any grocery store as long as it is convenient. I love shopping at Traders for Cheese, frozen Wontons, Carbs, pasta, canned/jared foods, cooking oils and nuts. I am not crazy about the produce there I think it is overpriced. But fine for a avocados citrus and a melon. Parking is atrocious! We came at 2:00 on a Monday and the parking lot was full. Do not even try to come on a weekend unless you are a masochist, or want to chance a parking lot fender bender. People in the store are often the most absent minded cart wielders. Locking you into a position because they are in Lala land. Still I found out later it was a holiday today maybe that is why shopping was unenjoyable. But this is a common occurrence shop early or late. Love the cheese selections the Delice de Bourgogne 11$ a lb is one of my favorite cheeses of all time. They have Manchego and as much Brie as anyone could possibly want. As well as Stilton, Fresh mozz, parmesan, I have had their lox and I prefer the whole foods offering. Charcuterie in general is not very present- kind of sad. The frozen Wontons are awesome I usually get the chicken ones 3$ a bag. They also have a quality mixing gin for 9$. I also got a VS Cognac around Xmass for 20$ went great in eggnog and sidecars. 2 buck chuck though cheap is not stellar. The whites are drinkable, reds are for cooking or making Sangria out of with sugar fruit and cognac. Their wine selection is okay very hit or miss-ask the staff about any hidden gems. Around X mass they had a Cotes du rhone for 8$ a GSM which was fabulous. It was obviously sold out today. read more

It's the little things, like the way they cater to pumpkin spice freaks. Trader Joe's is a dream. They have unique finds unlike anywhere else; fresh sunflower seeds, the most fragrant flowers and the fanciest chocolates. I go to Trader Joe's more for the novelty of it, but the quality is incomparable. When Autumn is here, I can grab Cookie Butter bagel spread, delicious pinot noir to pair with dinner, and my latest, shameless pumpkin-spice-everything obsession. Most recently, I purchased pumpkin spice bread pudding! Yes friends, I'm that girl. I even have the Ugg boots to match! So what? Trader Joe's is awesome. Even if you don't like pumpkin, try everything else and soon. You won't regret it, neither will your paycheck. read more

I always go to the samples area first to get a little cup of coffee, while my wife shops the $1 greeting cards up front. We usually leave with some bananas for $0.19 each. I weighed some bananas at other stores and have found this to be a good deal. Their bagged salads are always nice. The people are always friendly, you can always find someone to help you, they open up registers whenever things get busy at the registers. It is a pleasant experience all around. read more

Great, granola-esque store. I don't mean that in a bad way. Trader Joe's is not your average grocery. They have a lot of their own brands, which are usually quite excellent. They also carry a lot of more unusual kinds of products. Think organic, free-range, etc. But it's all good. Great produce. They do have a great beer and wine selection, actually. And they get some folks to make some really good beers under the Trader Joe's label. Sounds kinda lame, but they are really good. The staff is really helpful and friendly. The only down side - when you get this specialized and high end, you're gonna pay for it. read more
