Went in today for some last minute goodies for the 4th. Store was practically empty and serene. I love me an empty store! I was just happy that they were opened so I could grab some essentials for dinner. Harper helped me today! Harper is so great. It's flattering that he remembers me. So glad my favorite grocery store was within walking distance from our hotel! The products are good, but the service is amazing! We come to town for a convention every year and stay close by, so I run in there periodically. One time, someone overheard it was my daughter's birthday and gave her a flower as we walked out the door. I have multiple employees asking me how I'm doing or if I need any help, as I was walking in and an employee was putting carts away, he pulled one out and ran it over to me, the cashier told me ways she liked to eat certain products and made conversation with my kids, etc.. Trader Joe's is the best! We shop here every week because the food is always in stock and we have 1 million different favorites to choose from. Right now we are hooked on the Indian food entrées, the pulled pork, barbecue, the coleslaw, and the organic uncured pasture raised hotdogs are a guilt freeway to enjoy summertime cooking! Oh, and the ghost pepper chips! The staff is always super helpful and cheery and they always give off a very good vibe that we appreciate. My son looks for the Bronco so he can get a lollipop on the way out the door. Keep up the great work! read more

I love Trader Joe's so much that I started a Facebook group called Trader Joe's Foodies. I am fortunate to live near two TJ's locations in Southern Idaho. I love each store for different reasons. My favorite thing to do is walk-through the store and see all the new products, many of which I purchase. Shopping at Trader Joe's is a great way for foodies to try new things, in a budget friendly way. I love that many of their products are made in the countries those items originate from. I love Costco and Grocery Outlet too,, both of which share the "treasure hunt "aspect of Trader Joe's. But my all-time fave is Trader Joe's. read more

Trader Joe's in downtown Boise is exactly what you'd expect from a TJ's- friendly employees, a food selection that makes grocery shopping feel like a treasure hunt, and seasonal items that disappear faster than you can say "pumpkin everything." I love that they carry candy without artificial dyes (shoutout to parents everywhere), and the shelves are always full of those random, fun finds you didn't know you needed but suddenly can't live without. My only real complaint? There aren't enough Trader Joe's in the Treasure Valley- we're clearly overdue for more! The parking lot is a little tight, but if you've ever been to a Trader Joe's, you know that's just part of the brand experience at this point. And don't even get me started on the shopping carts. I'm convinced they keep them small so you think you won't overdo it... yet somehow I still roll out with a cart full of frozen dumplings, three types of cheese, and at least one "limited edition" item I grabbed just in case. read more

I've really become that person that stays on top of all the newer Trader Joe's trends because I'm in love with my local TJ's. I love coming here and trying out all the inventive products that they come out with. It's a real love-hate relationship with how seasonal Trader Joe's is because I'll fall in love with a product and then one day it's just gone... hopefully to come back next year. Like why are mini quiche a seasonal item but regular personal sized quiche sold all-year long? I digress... anyways these items are kinda always on my TJ's list: Herb spring mix Tiny avocados Shredded carrots Cocktail cucumbers Unsweetened almond milk Smoked salmon Three layered hummus Creamy sesame dressing Cooked shrimp from Argentina Frozen branzino fish Lamb vindaloo I'll usually get one sweet treat every time I go to Trader Joe's and that changes between the dark chocolate peanut butter cups (soo good in the freezer), dark chocolate covered pretzels (also good frozen), or any of their ice cream treats are delicious! This is also the spot I love to come to buy either house plants or flowers from! I usually buy flowers from here if not every week then on an every-other week basis. The only big downside of this Trader Joe's is how stressful the parking lot can be, especially after work hours or on the weekends. read more

I went into Trader Joe's to buy a couple of items for dinner including some delicious Focaccia bread. Victor assisted me at the cash register and asked if I ever tried the Cheddar Jalapeño pull apart bread, I had not. I told him I'd try it next time, after all bills add up quick. He had a fellow employee go and grab one for me and told me it was on the house. I have NEVER experienced customer service and thoughtfulness like this in my life. It was genuine and kind, I am forever a Trader Joe's shopper now. P.S. I've baked both breads now, both delicious! read more

At last. Trader Joe's has come along. To Boise. As predicted. The parking lot is too small. Way. Ridiculously way. But there it is. Being married to a Trader Joe's fan and finding myself in Boise with him on TJ's opening day, of course we had to make the pilgrimage to see the new space. (Cool Boise murals on the walls). But this I say to Yeeps and other Peeps, unless your life (or marriage) depends on it, you may want to postpone your visit to Trader Joes for a few days until the chaos abates and you can avoid playing bumper cars in the lot. But, says my hubby, what's the fun in that? THIS N THAT 1) PARKING: Aforementioned little lot. Street parking. Good luck with both of those. Public garage a couple of blocks away. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: Accessible (AKA ADA) parking spots (2). Level in and throughout. Plenty of space in aisles. TJs always gets it right. In fact first customer in the door today at opening is a man using a wheelchair. Cool. 3) OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN: TJs has this quirky ship / team format everywhere. Fun. Store managers are called Captains. The Captain here is Scott Dudeck. Seems like a very nice guy. read more

What can I say? It's Trader Joe's! Maybe not a big deal to those from other areas but in Boise, we've been waiting a looooong time for this! Reasonable prices, no artificial colors, flavors, GMO's, MSG, preservatives, or trans fat! Yes...to all of it! Yes, yes, yes! Wonderful selection with great variety to choose from of any particular item (ie... They had huge selection of yogurts, decent beer selection, and a beautifully ample cheese selection). Plus, Two-Buck-Chuck aka Charles Shaw--I've never actually had it, but I thought I'd give it a whirl. It's your run-of-the-mill Trader Joe's. Parking sometimes sucks here and then they have a huge tractor trailer that unloads and causes an even more cramped situation for cars. Employees are decent enough, not overboard cheesy friendly in my opinion. Some decent organic vegan food selections. Clean store. One thing I find SO ANNOYING about this place is that on EVERY single basket's handle, the black plastic is moved off to the side so when you want to grab the plastic instead of the thinner metal wire, it's off to the side, not in the middle where it should be. AND it's been that way for YEARS now. Can management or an employee take it upon themselves to correct that? I'm baffled that no one has seen it or been bothered enough to correct that yet. Anyway, I deducted 2 stars for those baskets. Time to get on the ball. Details matter. Otherwise, decent enough store if you like Trader Joe's. If the prices weren't good on organics I wouldn't come here. The loud ringing bells and tropic shirts aren't my vibe at this point really. read more

I honestly have never had a negative experience here and I always look forward to my visits (parking is the only painful thing at times). If you time it right, it is packed so don't time it right... go early or go late or just make sure you are prepared for a bustle-ee place. No matter the amount of people, lines usually go pretty fast. People are extremely friendly (just like at Disney Land) and extremely happy (just like kids with a puppy.) Everything in this store is a highlight so I can't highlight my favorites but I will try... Anything with sugar in it is my highlight, anything with booze in it is my highlight, and the freezer isle, the whole thing is my highlight. It is like a catwalk of amazing food. I went into TJs this week looking for a bottle of white wine for my mom. I am not really educated on white wine and asked one of the workers if they had any recommendations or new what was a good pick. She said she our wine expert should know and went to go grab her for me. The supposed wine expert Anne was very rude and not helpful in the slightest. She kept telling me that my questions were too loaded and she couldn't answer them and that she shouldn't have to answer those questions. Im not mad, I just left very disappointed. All ai wanted was a nicd bottle of white wine for my mom:( Overall I love TJs and go almost every week but this experience made me question my grocery store preferences. read more

After several years of hype, rumor, and gossip of Trader Joe's setting up shop in Boise... it finally actually happened! Very cool! I had never experienced a TJ store before, but had heard of all the unique, wonderful products they carry. The rumors are true. There's no shortage here of all manners of organic, GMO free, all natural, etc. products not always readily available at mainstream supermarkets. TJ's definitely has an awesome array of healthy products for you. However, if you cook a lot, you can't always find the necessary ingredients here... hence the 4 stars. Trader Joes is here! I love Trader Joes. I have been waiting since 2006 for this store to open. After countless phone calls to corporate, it finally made it. Love the store. Love the decor and everyones vibe. Fits perfect with the people of Boise. Pros: Awesome food choices, great prices friendly people. Cons: Parking lot is a nightmare, stuff seems to be out on the shelf more then other locations. I have been to numerous Trader Joes around the northwest. I have to consider a couple gallons of gas to my bill coming from where I live. I can't complain, they are here. I would make trips to Reno and Bend just to be able to shop at Trader Joe's. Some of our favorites include the Chapstick, mango mochi, dried mango, chile spiced mango (yes, we like mango!), dried baby pineapple, organic corn chip dippers, pumpkin pancake mix (GF and regular), GF corn bread mix and the traditional marinara sauce, just to name a few! I love TJ's. I can't count all the ways this grocery chain makes me happy, but I'll try. Nice, talkative staff make for a pleasant checkout. They aren't overbearing or fake interested in your experience. Much appreciated. I love each spring when they have bunches of ten daffodils for $1.49! You can't beat that to bring some springtime inside. They sell a lovely white from Portugal called Vino Verde. Priced well, it's a treat. I adore their body butters, especially the pumpkin, and even have had luck with their anti-aging skin serum! I suggest skipping the lines on weekends and going on a weeknight. Grab a sample of complimentary coffee and a little snack and fill up your cart with 99 cent cards, chocolate of every kind and frozen food taken to a higher level of taste and options. I absolutely love this store! I have been a fan of Trader Joe's for many years now. Before we moved here, our realtor mentioned that this facility was just built. Now I'm not going to say that this store was the reason we moved here... but it definitely made the transition of moving to another state feel more like "home" (grocery shopping that is). The staff is always incredibly friendly and I am always excited to see what items they will be sampling that day. The produce is fresh and I love the seasonal varieties. The parking is a little challenging at times. That is the only hiccup with trying to get around. Nonetheless, it is a place to go and check out if you've never been! read more
