Felt compelled after I saw the 3.5 stars overall. Good TJ's location to me. I went on a Monday night to empty aisles and plentiful stock. I picked up a small bunch of calla lilies (my favorite) for $4, dried mango, and some speculoos chocolate. I'm sure it gets crowded and crazy at times, but don't go during those times. read more

Okay, I need to do some penance here. When Trader Joe's stores started opening in Colorado causing traffic jams that needed to be directed by police, I was one of the people loudly mocking the Trader Joe's tribe. I didn't see what the big deal was or how a store this small could possibly have everything I need. I've been shopping here a month now and I'm converting. Here are my key points: #1 I'VE NEVER HAD TO CHECK MYSELF OUT OR EVEN WAIT LONG!!! #2 These small stores have had everything I've needed including organic produce and good fair trade organic coffee. If I can't find something the store actually has employees right there to help me. #3 Most items are noticeably less expensive. #4 They have a food sampling station. #5 I can park close and not have to walk a mile through the store. I love trader joes but this store needs more stuff. Wish there were a few more deli items to choose from but the produce is plentiful. I think they could definitely squeeze in another isle or two with a better layout and offer a bit more. Love that they are here though. read more

This relates only to beef. It is horrible. I have sampled several times since they opened and none have be satisfactory. Tonight I just ate what I could of a piece called filet mignon. It was tough beyond belief. I doubt that it was actually a beef loin, but probably something else mislabeled. This is not the place to buy quality beef. Stick with Ideal or Lucky's north. This is a small and mediocre venue with an overpriced product offering (a pound of strawberries for $6.00?), and sadly missing Joe's signature offering: cheap wine. I'll be surprised if Trader Joe's is still popular in Boulder two years from now. My guess is that they think customers are dumb. If I wanted antibiotic and hormone laden meat I'd shop at King Soopers or Safeway. Do they really think the general public thinks "all natural" means anything at all? Trader Joe's says "trust us", our products don't contain GMO ingredients, yet they won't submit their products to 3rd party verification to ensure they are GMO free. I can't believe people eat processed and boxed food anyway, especially in a town with a great farmer's market and so many outstanding local food providers. My wife and I went to Trader Joe's with the intention of filling up our cart. We checked out with five items. We found a couple of nice cheeses at a good price, some honey worth trying and some organic pasta. But, we won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I'm so happy to have this store back in rotation. After moving here from Pasadena, CA and being in CA for 23 yrs it was like leaving a friend. Now the friend has moved into town!! There are many skeptics but clearly TJ's does something right. The produce isn't perfect and the meat is questionable at times but people love it. I even saw a few tears of happiness at the grand opening. This shop gets 4 stars bc there's no wine. I understand it's not their fault but they should have made Boulder the wine shop instead of Denver. read more

So I was looking forward to this place opening and when I finally got to go there I was on crutches. I went to the "customer service" desk and asked if they had a motorized cart so I didn't have to crutch all around the store. He said oh if it's not there then someone is using it. They have 4 handicap spots outside and only 1 motorized cart? Well once I got past that annoying fact I crutched all around the store and was very surprised by what I saw. Terrible produce, non impressive meat selection, and not a lot of healthy items. Granted the place was super busy and I was on crutches but this place is very overrated. I'm sure there are some things worth getting there which is why I didn't give it 1 star but this store was so hyped up and I was thoroughly under impressed. read more

I have always loved Trader Joe's but today really made me appreciate their customer service. Ryan my cashier told me my favorite item in the store (bacon wrapped scallops) was about to stop being stocked so I should buy more! People are crazy. Know what to expect when you come here. Food is unique, tasty, and well priced. It can be busy (duh).

I sometimes don't understand why people review the corporation for each store. No, trader joes isn't Whole foods, and you may not like that, but don't shop there, or leave a bad review. Anyway, off my soapbox now.... This location is so nice, for me it falls in between Whole Foods and King Soopers, and sprouts. Yes, we go yo 4 different stores to get our shopping done. The biggest pet peeve, that I think us more the planners fault than TJ's, is how small and narrow the parking lot is. Especially when they get a delivery on a Weekend afternoon and block half the entryway. The other is that the spots on the far west side are way too narrow, and the some idiot in a giant SUV parks in one, taking up 2 spots. Aggrivating, but it's yet to stop me from going. That aside, after you've braved the parking lot, the store has a nice set up, the aisles are a bit tight when some Boulderite in bike shorts leaves their cart abandoned in the middle of the aisle. I prefer to go when most are working, or watching football, 8am on a weekday is perfect. Th staff are always friendly and happy and seem to enjoy their jobs there. I think TJ's has the best cheese selection, at the best prices. Sure you can get some rare this n that cheese at Whole foods, but at $21.99/#. TJ's has real Roquefort for 1/2 the price of anyone else, plus other fun and new cheeses. read more

Came up here to Boulder from Westminster to buy gluten free hamburger buns only to find out that they have been discontinued. Very disappointed. They were the best gluten free buns we have had. Hope they reconsider and bring them back. Would be willing to buy a case at a time. read more

My hiatus of 11 years ended with the launching of Trader Joe's in Boulder. There were 2 instances where it brought back flashbacks of the rudeness and ineptness of the Wild Oats employees. One was where one manager stated that the item was located in the grocery isle without pointing left or right and the other was met by the short red haired snappy girl at the front desk with umpteen dried nose boogers that flew toward you as she breathed and told you off. Just so gross... They've come a long way since their Cali days and I'll just keep shopping at Whole Foods since they know how to reinvent themselves and keep up with the times. read more

You have to really really want something that only they have to endure the parking brain damage.

Of course this place is awesome, it's Trader Joe's. It's RIGHT on highway 36, so you can stop here on your way from the airport to the mountains. BUT- they have no liquor license. So throw your tourist's dreams of $2 Chuck right out the window. You have to buy expensive wine at Hazel's, across the street. So just one more stop and you are ready to hit the road again. read more

Like many, I am THRILLED Trader Joes made it to Colorado! I can finally buy all my favorite goodies, with out my family needing to send me care packages :) I am curious though why they didn't open a liquor store/section as other natural food stores have figured out. And it is someone disheartening when I make the trip and some basics are out of stock--would love more organic produce available. read more

TJs is always nice for some good deals, a quick experience to the market, and easy shopping. While the parking lot is crowded, this TJs has the best view of any supermarket in town!! My girlfriend says she loves shopping at TJs, and likes to dress up for the experience. She thinks the tomatoes are nice, and they have a good cheese section. HOwever, she also says that they have bad deals on staple produce like onions and potatoes. They also have a bit limited produce section in general, and few kinds of peppers to buy. She loves going there, but the free samples aren't as big as those at whole foods. She likes their coffee, and free things. read more

I love Trader Joe's especially the selection of cheeses, the lowest price in town for organic milk and organic lettuce. And the only place in town that has the little organic cucumbers. The miso ginger broth is wonderful when you add greens, tofu and Trader Joe's dumplings. And the dark chocolate bars are luscious and the gluten free JoJo's for my grandchildren who can't tolerate gluten are a great treat. I love the fresh garlic naan and other Indian foods too. Surprisingly small - a lot of specialized items. You wander around and find some neat things that aren't too expensive, but its not like you could go there to do a serious grocery shopping. Parking lot is horribly tight and small - even worse than Whole Foods. read more

Trader joe's , I really truly love you guys, and my husband does too!! This store is awesome, I'm glad we finally have one in boulder. I'm a Colorado native, but my husband is originally from California, and he was excited when word first got out that Trader Joes was coming. This store is one of the best in boulder... The staff are are very friendly and professional, there's so many tasty goodies, the prices on most items are affordable... Even on my penny - pinching budget. Hahahahah! OK just kidding my budget isn't that tight. On my last trip, I got a tub of dark chocolate peanut butter cups, and I ate the whole thing in one sitting before I realized what I was doing!! They were I st so good and chocolatey and sweet. My husband comes here at least twice a week. His favorites are the blueberry cereal bars, chocolate chip granola bars, and the shredded beef taquitos. H also likes the cheap gallons of skim milk. Another one of my favorites are the chocolate cream Joe Joe cookies. I recommend these with milk. They're so good you might just eat the whole box before you know it! haven't bought any of the produce yet, but I'll give a try the next time I come in. Should also try the coffee. Trader joes has won me and my husband over, and we hope this store will be around for A very long time. We will most definitely be back!!! read more

I've been literally waiting years for this store to open - and after several letters to headquarters, I am glad to see it is finally here. ;) No, it is not a health food store, and yes, some things are pricey, but some things are a great buy - like Organic Rice Milk for 1.69!! it's hard to even explain why I have so much love for Trader Joe's. Unique products, excellent customer service and return policy, I just FEEL good when I shop here. On opening night my husband and I did the conga line down the aisle we were so happy! Parking is not good - I don't actually thing this was a good choice of location on the busiest corner in Boulder, but hey, I'll still go. My only gripe is that they do not have coffee samples. Every TJs I have EVER been to has the little coffee stand in the back with the samples and I look forward to it every time I shop. Please give us coffee! I bet the average spending per customer is close to $100 ( I know it is for me)! And the free coffee samples goes along with the fabulous ambiance. Welcome to Boulder TJs! read more
