Trader Joe's is my go to grocery store. I really don't like the large grocery stores, when I need to shop them I usually instacart. Trader Joe's is my weekly routine, fresh salads, wraps and prepared frozen meals make putting food on the table for two, easy and convenient. Trader Joe's has flowers for that date night in, fresh produce, liquor and even household and beauty items. I love the unique snacks, sauces and prepared items. It's an adventure! I'm a TJ-Holic. From fresh delicate flowers to seasonal items, I just can't get enough of this place. The employees are always friendly and shelves are always stocked. My all time favorites: - Ready made salad boxes that's perfect for lunch and a variety of organic and regular veggies for lunch/dinner - Bananas are sold each and it's nice they have both organic and regular - Fresh planted herbs- Basil, rosemary, thyme, etc. At a pretty reasonable price. - TJ French brioche bread- you can make awesome French toast or some jam taste so yummy in the mornings! - Bourbon vanilla extract- smells so heavenly and I used this to bake my muffins and cookies (exclusive item of TJ) - Frozen aisle: Their pork steam dumplings (full of flavor and juice), hashbrowns (taste just the ones from McDonalds), garlic naan (it's authentic and made in india), fried mac n cheese balls (ooey and gooey with cheesy mac in the inside and golden crispy outside), tiny vanilla ice cream cones (just the right snack size for this guilty pleasure), Ube ice cream -Snack aisle: Cauliflower crisps, kettlecorn and sweet potato chips -Nut/dried fruit aisle: Candied pecans (great to snack on or with brussel sprouts), Freeze dried blueberries (yummy yet healthy), dried banana chips, dried mango slices - Flowers are always so fresh and reasonably priced. Bummer that I have to rate my favorite store like this. THIS is my closet TJ's to where I live. I've stop coming here because people were nicer at the Whittier, Long Beach and la habra locations. Today, I HAD to come and decided to give this location another try. Unknowingly, arrived during senior hour, which I knew went down to a couple of days a week, just never occurred to me to check. During the pandemic, other locations allowed customers to go in during senior hours, some drop the age to over 50...IF there was no line or IF the store was low capacity. Ray, STOPPED me at the front door. With respect, I left. But as I got in my car, I noticed a younger gentleman leave the store. NOT COOL! I called the store. I was recited policy after policy regarding senior hours and yet he didn't have any comments about what I witnessed, except, we'll talk to him. We need to do better and treat people the same. PERIOD! I hope that Nicole, will CHECK her people. TJ's reputation is about being EXTRA NICE. It wasn't the case here. It was blatant disregard to me bc I wasn't let in and yet others were. Rude cashier, felt like it was based on my race since the third customer ahead of me were Asian, once they left, the next two were white and came right up to the register while he was bagging and immediately finished their transaction. For the first time since frequently coming into Trader Joe's, I was told to stand away. This cashier joked and chatted with his co-workers, even after he was finished bagging. To which, once I tried to move forward to pay when he was finished bagging, he rudely told me to stand away until he was done with his conversation with his co-workers. Love this Trader Joe's but they get 3 stars for yesterday's trip. Was not paying attention to the way groceries were being bagged...my fault. Cashier put 2 bottles of wine which usually would be ok but then packed the bag with other stuff. Outcome 2 Broken bottles of wine a cut finger and a screaming 2yr old ‍ They also usually put wine in a smaller brown bag if they are putting in the bag. This is my favorite Trader Joe's. I grew up coming to this location. With covid, the lines are not too long. I love that there are several shops that I frequent Sephora, Marshall's. These even a Walmart on the other end. The neighboring stores have changes recently and I think my turn over again soon since no one is playing golf enough to visit that location. Parking is excellent and everyone is super nice and knowledgable on the wine selection. read more

I recently started shopping at Trader Joe's for organic food to help out with my wedding diet. I really hate the people that work there because they always seem to judge you even when trying to be nice and talk to you. But what bothered me here the most was the customers. Holy shit I cant believe the experience I had. First, I am mexican and get along with all races/ colors etc. But I saw that the shortest line was with an african american fellow in his late 30s or so. I got in his line which was 3 people and saw he tried to converse with all 3 customers who were either Asian or White and they ignored him or gave him one word answers. You could clearly see he was used to this but did his job well and went pretty quick. I got up there and asked him how he was doing and he smiled and talked to me the entire time he rang up my groceries. At the end he thanked me for coming in and I thanked him for his help. Seriously, in LA county these snobby fucking fake ass people who shop at trader joes because they have peanut, gluten, or other 1st world disorders who are fuck tards saying they are not racist are THE MOST racist of all. Cheese and fucking crackers people, you may not like a certain race or type of people but be cordial and respectful. I LOVE trader joes. I used live walking distance to Tustin location and went weekly. We moved and now we're closer to Cerritos location. It's clean and people are friendly but why does this location never have popular items in stock? We're kot walking distance anymore so now we have to plan a trip so it's frustrating when almost all of your list isn't in store! Came today - no scallion pancakes, no tteokbukki, no hashbrowns, no cookies and cream pretzels, no Sesame noodles. So frustrating. All my friends share their trader joes finds and they never have trouble locating new or popular items. I often have them pick up things for me since Cerritos never seems to get them?? This was our first trip to Trader Joes and it was awesome! They had everything that we were looking for and more! Everyone from Hawaii always brings back these goodies every time they go to the mainland but I didn't realize how cheap everything was! Amongst my favorites were the dehydrated broccoli, dark chocolate covered espresso beans, maple cookies and cocoa batons. We definitely need one of these in Hawaii! Our closest Trader Joe's - located within the Cerritos Towne Ctr. Plenty of parking and usually fairly easy to get in/out of. They have all the usual TJ's offerings. We mainly come here for our pantry staples - milk, eggs, yogurt, chicken, grd beef, nuts, Kefir, Milton's bread, almond butter, cheese, and dog food. We find that the aforementioned items are good quality and well-priced here. The produce is generally pretty fresh, and they have a tasting station in the back. In fact, if you want to sample anything in the store, just ask a TJ's employee and they'll help get you a taste. Speaking of employees, all the employees I've interacted with here have been really friendly and willing to assist you should you need help. If I had to take a guess, I'd say that the better pay and benefits they receive here = happier employees who in turn are nicer to the customers (take note, Wal-Mart). Oh, and if you have kids, each store has a stuffed animal hidden somewhere inside. When your child finds it, take him/her over to the cust svc desk so s/he can tell them where they found it and they'll get a TJ's lollipop. Our son LOVES this (we call it the Trader Joe's Challenge) and enjoys trying to find the stuffed animal in a different location each week. The TJ's employees also usually give the kiddos some stickers as you check out. Bottom line: TJ's is a weekly stop for us. We can get most of what we need here. They are smaller than your average supermarket so they won't have everything, but the good prices, great employees and unique products more than make up for it. Plus they have a hassle-free return policy. Just bring the item back and they'll replace it or give you a full refund with our without the original receipt and no questions asked. Tip: If you bring in your own shopping bags, they'll give you a raffle ticket and you fill in your contact info. I believe they have a raffle each week (not sure what the prize is). They sometimes don't give you the ticket automatically, so you can ask for it. read more

They are limiting the number of customers entering but really speeding up the process at the check out counter. Everything is really clean, despite the pandemic. Other grocery stores simply have a line outside to limit the number of customers. This Trader Joe's emphasizes the 6 feet social distancing and health of both customers and employees. I am extremely impressed with how friendly and organized the employees are during this difficult time. Not much of a Trader Joe's regular; and by that I probably frequent a local Trader Joe's once a year. I've found it very selective and I cannot get everything I need there on a reasonable budget. However, the frozen section, their pre-made salads & their artisan cheese section might cause me to turn to the dark side. Joking aside, I love the fried rice and orange chicken selection and looking forward to getting lost in their artisan section to create my next bomb charcuterie board. Perfect place to buy organic food. They are not that expensive compare to Sprouts or Whole Foods but they have a very good and high quality food. Besides Costco if you dont need much food just come here and they have pretty much everything 4 star because they should have made this place bigger. There's a space next to them and the business that usually rent that space comes and go. So if I were TJ why not buy that space to expand. Reason why I'm saying this is due to the fact that because people know they can get Organic food here in a much lower price compare to Sprouts, well you can't imagine how crowded it would get. This is probably not only the biggest Trader Joe's I've been to, it also has great selections! I used to be a regular at the PRV/San Pedro TJ's but since moving to Lakewood, I had not seen a TJ's. Went with my friend and nephew to see what all they hype was about and I have to say, it's all good! Great fruit selection that is completely fresh! Best prepped meal options, frozen mean selections and snacks, too! The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I was one of the few people in the store who was shopping with a mask. I walk past two of the employees with my cart when on whispers to the other and says, "You see that guy over there, watch him". I love Trader Joe's Cerritos. Everyone is kind here. Today a mate named Alice asked about my day and I unloaded some sorrow on her. I don't know why, normally I say I'm fine and just make small talk. But today, I shared some sadness with her. I told her some of the goodies I was buying was for a friend in a situation so heartbreaking I didn't know what to do but bring her a few treats to comfort her soul and nourish her body. Alice asked me to hold on after my transaction and grabbed me a bouquet of flowers and asked me to give it to my friend. I almost cried! Such kindness and thoughtfulness! I think Trader Joe's is one of my favorite grocery store. They have some specialized foods, and healthy organic food. They also have different imported chocolates from Europe in the middle isle. I recommend trying their cookie dough ice cream, it tastes good. The waffle dessert is also good too, I like to give that to some relatives from out of town.
