The crowded area I would say would be the sandwich/smoothie deli during lunchtime for sure because schools/colleges/trade programs in the area will all come and get the lunch specials. The sandwich deal is so smart of them to do because in this economy, it is harder to find a good deal. Back in the day, they used to include sprouts in the sandwiches for free, but now in 2026 I rarely see sprouts sold in stores even. Healthiest smoothie I have had was the green detox, highly recommended. Every single week a different smoothie goes on sale so check the weekly ads for your favorite smoothie. The meat quality is amazing always! I always get chicken, fish, and beef on sale. I have gotten sick before from meats from markets that inject hormones in the meats. I trust Sprouts a lot and have never gotten sick from their raw meats. High quality for sure.

Then there's the overall shopping experience: too few cashiers, long checkout lines, flies, anti-theft barriers at the entrances and exits, and even basic everyday products locked behind glass. Shopping here feels unnecessarily difficult and unpleasant. What's most disappointing is the message all of this sends. A neighborhood grocery store should feel clean, welcoming, convenient and appreciative of the people who spend their money there. Instead, this store seems designed around distrust of its customers while showing remarkably little care for their time, convenience or the products being sold. The experience doesn't say, "Thank you for your business. Please come again." It says, "We don't value your time. We don't trust you. And we don't take much pride in what we're selling." That's not how a grocery store should make its customers feel.

When we moved to the Chula Vista area, I was stoked that there's a Trader Joe's in the Eastlake area! On most of the Sundays I've had to make quick stops, I found the shelves to be emptier than other days. So if you can try to shop during the weekday mid-mornings, those are the best times. The shelves are stocked and the staff are so helpful in making recommendations and listening to your concerns. The cashiers are even friendly, often asking about your day and remembering the regulars who walk through. If only they can carry some coconutmilk creamer and plantains so I don't have to make an extra trip to the Sprouts across the way? :) read more

I'm glad I went to Trader Joe's today. They had pumpkins for only $2.99 a piece, nice size ones as well. There's also a great selection of wines for great prices. I got the Trader Joe's chilean brand, and it's as good as any medium expensive brand. The only down side is that it was a bit hard to find parking in this location, they seem to try to fit in all these bigger stores in a small plaza.. But I still had a great time, since this is where I will buy all my pumpkins this season.... read more

Always love getting fresh flowers at Trader Joe's. They have cuter variety of flowers than VONS, Sprouts and etc. The staff here is amazing too! Everyone is always giving out positive happy vibes. I have never seen anyone not smile at this location before. The only cons of this location is parking, but that can be avoided if you come at the right time. read more

Every time I come here they always treat the customer right. Not only do I love the product in the store but I love the customer service. Everyone says hi and if they can help you. And when checking out they always give my kids a treat whether it's a lollipop or stickers. So glad Trader Joe's is in Eastlake. Keep up the good work. read more

The only thing that I could not find was Collard Greens. Everything else was in abundance here. I think that next year I will stop here first to get the majority of my shopping done. They offer other supermarket staples, too, including lots of Mexican staples. They even sell Mexican versions of Cheetos and Tostitos, with add-ins like chilies, lime, and Tajin. The secret to their sauce is the "farm box." There's approximately 30 lbs. of produce for $20. Yes; you read that right! This week, there was everything from avocados to oranges and fresh spinach to lemons. It also included a few pounds of bananas and a 3-lb bag of potatoes. The numbers really would add up fast if each produce item were to be purchased separately. My husband also scored a 40-lb bag of wood charcoal for $18. Thanks to a great friend who told me about this place - I'm forever in her debt!

With over 20 items it comes out just under $1 per item. I called to get more info, I spoke with a very nice lady who went over the list of items it comes with. I was sad the new list omits my favorite fruit, the grapefruit-lol So we make the trip down and it's very easy to find and I was happy that we were the only people there at the time. I'm guessing most of their business is commercial. We were greeted right away and asked about the box specials. They were lined up and ready to go on shopping carts. We added the Silk almond milk and two dozen eggs. It was $25 exactly for everything and we were on our way. The employee was super nice and sounded like the person that helped me over the phone. To be honest we weren't expecting much in terms of quality ,but was surprised when we opened the box. Another big surprise that some organic items were thrown in as well. The deal gets better. There was a few items we had to throw away as they were damaged or looked bad. Two of the 4 peppers were bad. We also had to throw away the Asparagus, it was rotten the tips were slimy and mushy and had a bad odor. The Pineapple and eggplant were missing as well. We took a star away for the missing items and rotten food. When these are being prepared, a simple check could prevent bad items from going in. Again for the price we were paying we weren't expecting 100 percent blemish free items. After cleaning everything, we couldn't believe how many items were here. The 10lb bag of oranges was the jam! They were huge and very fresh. Also big bag of onions and potatoes. In all I would guesstimate that this would be $50 easily at Vons/Albertsons etc..... This should last us about 2 weeks. Obviously I can't comment on everything since we haven't eaten anything yet. My wife who is typically stubborn gives this place two thumbs up. We'll be back for sure.
