I'm super stoked that they finally opened one down here. I hated having to drive to La Mesa every time. I love Trader Joes!!! It's the best place to shop especially for quick dinners! I love it because it's not crowded like La Mesa and everyone is super friendly and helpful. Parking is ample. The items are the best. I love buying anything and everything over there and still not break your wallet. hehe... You cant beat the instant Jasmine rice they offer in the frozen section. Finally having a TJ's near my house could almost make a girl giddy! I know that anytime I go in there I will walk out with something good. Positives: Nice layout. Helpful and attentive employees. Wonderful products. Negatives: The parking lot kind of sucks, several bottlenecks. Going there on X-mass eve wasn't even that painful. Walked out of there with a nice bottle of wine and several lovely cheeses for a cheese plate sampler for $40.00. Not even painful! If I could marry Trader Joe's I would. As a recent study abroad student I am missing Paris like crazy now that I'm back home but Trader Joe's has made it easy for me to get some of the things that I used to love eating in France. Their selection of cheese is by far the BEST! It definitely makes this cheese lover very happy. I've tried pretty much everything from their different kinds of gouda to the stinky blue cheese and I've loved everything. Their goat cheese is similar to the one that you can find in France. For those who love saucisson their salami is sure to satisfy that craving. It tastes almost identical to what you can buy in France! I swear to god! The first time my boyfriend and I bought the salami I swear we were going to cry because of how much it reminded us of Paris. Another great thing you can find is Speculoos! While its not the original Lotus brand (although you can find that at Walmart now) the Trader Joe's brand speculoos is not bad. A bit blander than the original but it does again satisfy that craving for the spread. Alors on va parler du vin rouge... Everyone knows that Trader Joe's has an amazing selection of wine and their selection of French wine is great! And the best thing is that you can find bottles for CHEAP! You can find bottles for less than $10 which reminded me of the days where I could buy wine for 3 or 4 euros. Other than being a great place for those who are missing French food or love it Trader Joe's is just great in general. Their Hold The Cone ice cream which is only 90 calories is a great way to get your ice cream fix and not feel guilty about it. Their oatmeal cookies are perfect! The veggie chips are delicious. They have one of the cheapest chia seeds I've found too. I could keep going on and on about how much I love Trader Joe's but I won't because I don't want this review to turn into an essay. I was so impressed and moved by my experience this morning from the employees at this location. Every time I shop at this location I have a positive experience and find every employee so helpful and willing to walk me to the exact location of whatever very specific item I'm looking for. But today's experience was exceptional. I am 8 days away from having our 2nd baby and was definitely doing the waddle around the store for some last minute items. Every employee I interacted with was extremely helpful. While checking out, the employee (possibly manager) that helped me ring me up offered a very sweet gesture to congratulate our soon arrival of our baby girl. It completely made my day and it's little moments like these that truly restore your faith in humanity. Keep doing what you're doing guys and thank you so much for such a great experience! read more

So I walked in here just looking to buy something to drink, I was thirsty. Oh my! I did not expect to see so many kinds of cookies and baked goods. As a cookie junkie this is dangerous for me. I paced back and forth down that aisle looking at all these sweets. I managed to talk myself out of getting any (regretting it now). I didn't see many bottled drinks but I saw this mango juice smoothie so I got that. It was very good and refreshing for such a hot day. I'll definitely be back to stock up on cookies. read more

I'm giving them the 5 stars they deserve for the consistently excellent customer service. Some time last year, I was actually short of my grocery bill by, literally, a few cents. I was going to put the remainder on my card but the cashier wasn't about to let me charge a few cents to my credit card. So he let me go on my way. I've been a regular ever since. When I was down in San Diego for a week, I was in a hotel room with a kitchenette. That meant I had to visit TJ's for some grocery shopping. This is a relatively small Trader Joe's. I was shopping there during drive time, so I expected it to be packed, and was pleased that it wasn't. Maybe people don't know it's there? Maybe everyone was still stuck in traffic? If you're from out-of-town, remember that the 125 is a toll road that often requires exact change, and if you're not from here, you won't know how much a trip costs. That's why I ignored my GPS directions and had to wander a bit to get here. Once here, it was fast-in, fast-out, which is an improvement from a lot of Trader Joe's. read more

Great selection and I usually buy the -TJ orange juice -Blueberry scones -Apple blossoms (frozen apple pie) -blueberry/lemon scones - Lambrusco wine Everyone talks about 2 buck Chuck but my wife introduced to me lambrusco wine. If you want to taste something like candy and you're not a wine brat, you have to try this stuff. It's like cherry Kool-Aid. It's under Reggiano Lambrusco (red) for like $4.99 a bottle. Go white and its a dollar cheaper. Here's a plus, you don't even need a wine opener. All you have to do is twist the metal covering then pop it like a champagne bottle. It's a very sweet wine. Trader Joes is located at a nice area. There's a Borders, Henry's Market, Pier One close by. There's parking, but just be careful in it, lots of flowing cars in the parking lanes. Enjoy! read more

I love this store. Before I found out about Trader Joe's, I was shopping at Whole Foods exclusively. I enjoyed it there, but it's crap compared to this place. From my experience, the prices here are usually better than Whole Foods and the selection is far superior. This is true despite the fact that Whole Foods has more food to choose from. But personally... I will always take quality over quantity. Yes, there is less food here... but what they do have is awesome! The Trader Joe's brand food has not let me down yet. Just because it's the store brand, it doesn't mean it's low quality. It's usually higher quality than the big brand items. And I do have to agree with all the other Yelpers about the staff... they rock. There is this one guy who always always always has this huge smile on his face. Not a crappy "I'm smiling because I have to" smile, but a "I'm smiling because I am actually happy and enjoy working here" smile. Keep being awesome, Trader Joe's. read more

I love Trader Joe's! This is slowly becoming a more regular spot for me. I love the concept. Healthy, yummy food at decent prices. I often get my work lunches from the salad section. The Thai Chicken Salad I had today was amazing. I could get that every week for the rest of the year and be happy. The wine selection is massive. They break up the wine into countries, if you want to take your wine palate to an international level. (Which I do!) They also have a large selection of domestic wines from reputable wineries across the country. I hear a lot of people saying Two-Buck Chuck is good -- and it is not! Do not fall for that one. Although it is a mostly healthy store, there is a large amount of candies and sweets in the place. If you haven't tried their Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, then you are missing out! Trader Joes's now has small bags of them at the check-out counters which saves me the agony of keeping my self-control with a huge container of those things. The staff have always been nice and helpful. I recommend you check it out. read more

Walking in you are greeted by the beautiful flowers and specials for the day. I love this place! Not only do they have the only greek yogurt I will buy (trader joe brand) but they carry tons of fun the stuff the kids love to try. The produce is always super fresh and the meats and fish I have purchased have been as well. I like to try something different each time we go.Trader Joe's has food I'm not afraid to feed my kids. My wife shops here alot because she can purchase and consume everything in the store without worrying about her allergy to high fructose corn syrup. The products are not what is found in Albertson's or Wal-Mart, but for the most part they are OK taste-wise and some are even better. Great selection of wine and beers. My new neighborhood TJ's. So new and sparkly and fairly uncrowded. A vast difference from my former neighborhood TJ's in PB. As to be expected, awesome products at great prices. Every single person I've encountered that works here has been super pleasant and helpful. They don't seem to have quite the amount or variety as the PB TJ's but hopefully as the surrounding community begins to discover the brilliance of Trader Joes, they'll be able to increase thier stockpile of goodies. What more can be said about a place I love shopping at...this place is incredible! There isn't a place I would rather buy wines at a very good price than Trader Joe's. A couple of days ago, I bought some Red and White Wines and of course a couple of bottles of my favorite, Riesling. The wines here are pretty damn good and what I especially like, is the fact that you're not spending an arm or a leg when you purchase these wines. I love the different selections of foods at Trader Joe's. They have a selection of foods that you simply cannot find at your local VONS, Albertson's, or Ralph's....especially if you are a little on the health conscience side of things. If I do have one gripe about this place...I have to drive quite a ways to get here. But it is what it is and this is the closest Trader Joe's I can get to, so I'll live with it... I love Trader Joes, this one in particular could be a little bigger but I still find what I need. I usually go for Wine, cheeses, or arborio rice and man has that box changed through the years! It used to be a 2lb. box and now its this tiny little thing....I guess no one likes cooking risotto anymore. Anyway, I love the selection of wines, and I especially enjoy being able to taste them through that little swinging door room....sweet! This Trader Joe's is a smaller location but it has a great local, neighborhood feel. The entire staff are so friendly, so nice, and so knowledgeable. I shop here at least once a week. I usually purchase my fruit, yogurt, some snacks, and other grocery items. The store is super clean and I always find what I'm looking for. Sometimes I'll find something that I've never seen and try it. The frozen section is awesome. My kids especially love the Trader Joe's mac and cheese. My kids love looking for Coba. They make a game of "who finds him first." The staff usually give out lollipops or mandarin oranges as prizes. read more

No matter what I buy, it always taste great. The service in outstanding. People are there because they believe in their company, not just to earn a check. I've never seen a disengaged employee. My family goes to Trader Joe's almost weekly so it's about time I send them a glowing review. My kids love going because they love the samples (well I do too) and looking for Coba, the stuffed cheetah. Speaking of samples, my daughter likes salad thanks to sampling them here. I love TJ's products for their quality and their prices. As a working mom, it's helpful to have a few backup dinner options in the freezer on hectic nights. Trader Joe's has a great variety of frozen food that my family enjoys. I also love their salads, almond milk, stevia, trail mixes, tortilla chips, salsa, and desserts to mention a few things. I've always been impressed with their customer service but on two occasions, they'd get a sixth star. (1) Back in 2013 I ventured to Trader Joe's with my kids (one month old and 3 years old at the time). I hurriedly put the essentials in my basket and made it to the register just as both of them broke down crying. The kind person at the register not only offered my 3 year old stickers but offered to help me to my car. I was so grateful. (2) Just a few weeks ago while at the register my now 2 year old son was playing with the Kukui Nut necklaces near the staff cubicle by the entrance. Rather than the staff member walking by reacting with an angry or annoyed attitude, he gave my kids a little gift. What a great example of going the extra mile! Pavel & Brian (my cashier) were phenomenal!!! My daughter is a vegan & visiting from London; I had no idea what to feed her. Pavel literally walked me around the store for a couple of minutes and help me pick out amazing VEGAN meals!!! He saved me about an hour worth of wandering. This morning, had to visit Trader Joes, Eastlake, during Senior hours. Was pleasantly surprised and amazed at how well my granddaughter and I were treated. All the staff was very helpful and courteous. There was quite a line already waiting for the 9am opening, and we were also extremely impressed that all items seem to be well stocked!! Staff was super friendly and willing to help! I Love the testing area where they feature a new product! This time they were featuring a Gluten free frozen pizza crust that you can personalize to however you like! They made a BBQ chicken pizza and it was so good!!! Last time we went they had a pork roast with balsamic veggies! We got two more packages of each this time around! We wet to Sprouts right before we came to Trader's and I liked this store so much more! It has a lot more unique items where as Sprouts has a lot of things you can find in a regular grocery store! I do feel they have a gigantic alcohol section which could be scaled down to provide more selection for people who don't drink! Like if you only sell two bottles a year of something.... Maybe get rid of it! Other than that, we were extremely satisfied with their prices and their service! We will be coming back!!! read more
