The produce is significantly cheaper than Jewel and always looks fresh and vibrant. I like Trader Joe'ses in general, and this one is typical. Good human customer service, reasonable prices, and much of what they sell is unique because they sell Trader Joe's proprietary label goods. They have some very good dessert choices, which is not good because I'm diabetic. Their frozen goods are very good, and this location does have some nice houseplants and flowers. The cashiers pretend that my dry jokes are funny. Instead of treating everyone equally, they seem to be extra patient and kind to older customers. Big plus in my book. read more

Overall, great Trader Joe's experience, the employees are always friendly and helpful, and they always seem to have what I need in stock, snd then some! If you've never shopped at a Trader Joe's before, the experience can be kind of odd. 95% of what they sell are their own brands. And you can't always find something plain, everything seems a little special. It's a great place to go for meal ideas, and less of a place you go to stock up on basics. I love Trader Joe's. My wife has 2 out of town guests & I wanted to whip together a quick dinner. I stopped @ Trader Joe's and quickly found the items that I needed so I didn't have to go to a second store. I made a quick simple dinner w/salmon marinated in fresh garlic, ginger, a hot Thai chili pepper mixed w/soy sauce & sesame oil. I added an arugula salad w/avocado, black olives, mushrooms, boiled eggs, carrots & sesame seed dressing. I also had tofu seasoned w/soy sauce, sesame seed oil & 2 types of furikake sprinkled on the tofu. We also got a bottle of moscato (per one of the guests request.). For dessert we had lemon bars. Trader Joe's is such a convenient store that had everything I needed in one location. read more

This is an older strip mall Trader Joe's. In fact, I guess most Trader Joe's are in some sort of strip mall, but this one has adjacent attached businesses for what that's worth. It looks average to smallish size on the outside but the open layout inside makes it feel bigger and makes for comfortable browsing. As with most Trader Joe's in our experience, there's nice clientele and nice friendly staff here. read more

I'm a huge fan of this store and have been shopping here for over 40 years. I used to live in Central California and kind of grew up with TJ's. Later when I moved to Orlando, I was excited to finally welcome them to Florida! The best things there are the wine selection and the great variety of frozen foods. I also love their carrot juice and prepared salads for making life easy. On the whole, Trader Joe's has better prices than many local supermarkets, and a unique and ever changed selection. The layout of this shop is so much better than the Naperville or Glen Ellyn stores! Feels more spacious and better decisions as to where things were placed. Same stuff as any other location, but it's high quality, unique products. My least favorite thing to buy at TJs is produce but everything else is good. I was stumped why the clerk asked me "What are you using them for?" when I asked about stickers. (I was buying a half-dozen of their greeting cards.) Never been quizzed like that at another location.... Overall, layout was ideal but customer service a bit off on this experience. read more

I also think they have a bigger selection of flowers than others I've been to. They also have a nice rotation of featured foods and new foods coming in. I LOVE Trader Joe's and I HATE Trader Joe's. Like many people, I never have enough time so popping into TJs is always rushed. I frequently run in to get our staples, grab a few new things and get out as fast as I can. This normally works well until we get to the cashier. It ALWAYS takes forever to check out. They empty the basket and then start ringing, ask me how I am and take forever to bag the groceries, they offer their reviews on my products and heaven help me if I've forgotten my bags because that's a whole another level of Trader Joe's hell with double bagging etc. if Trader Joe's would just accept my help in bagging my own groceries and increase bagging efficiency and productivity I would be such a happier customer. Or better yet....self checkout! This is a great Trader Joe's. The layout and select is very good. You can feed a family of 4 for $10-12 with the Chinese frozen dinners and rice. I like their salads and they have great ginger beer. Trader Joe's is a great place to shop for interesting quality food and wine. They always have coffee to sample and I haven't had one I didn't like. Anything from flowers to nuts to produce to dog food. Most items are extremely reasonable for the quality. The only complaint is produce isn't sold by the lb and meat is expensive. Their jarred "Trader Giotto" marinara and pizza sauce is AWESOME! And I never think jarred anything is as good as homemade ( until now ). They also have an Italian truffle cheese as good as expensive cheese at half the price. Of course try their house wine and several other exclusive wines, especially nice as gifts. read more

One of the best Trader Joe's I've been to in the area. Bigger than most, clean, and wasn't too busy. Went on an early Sunday afternoon.

I spent 45 minutes in the store today, went to the restroom, and then found that a crew member had restocked everything in my shopping cart. This person wasted my time and neither apologized nor offered to give me any kind of concession. After about one trip per week for nine years, I will never shop at this location again and I will only go to farther away TJ's sparingly and purchase only new products that look really promising - no more speculative purchases, which historically have turned out to be good, in terms of quality and price, about 75% of the time. Absolutely terrible customer service, which is absolutely inexcusable. read more

Dangerous. This place is very dangerous. I came in for Candy Cane Joe-Joe's and left with 2 boxes of Candy Cane Joe-Joe's, 1 seasoned Lamb Chop roast, 1 jar of Speculoos Cookie Butter, 3 types of Gyoza, 1 box of Pork Shu Mai, 1 Speculoos Cookie Butter Cheesecake, 1 jar of Soy Sauce, 1 Greeting Card, 1 container of Marinated Mozzarella, and 1 Shells and Brie with Asparagus frozen entrée. I blame my friend Kourtney for sending me a picture of the Joe-Joe's with a sign for Gyoza below. That was the impetus for this shopping spree. My fiancé says he'll be sending her the bill. I've pretty much only come here for the occasional box of Joe-Joe's or Cookie Butter, so this was a special treat. I do not like this Trader Joe's as much as others. The layout is different than the one in Glen Ellyn, so I was a bit turned around and felt their positioning of products wasn't as intuitive as the others. Still, I was able to get help when I needed. I've been to this location a couple times and it's taken me awhile to get my bearings, but I've always found what I was looking for and then some. The employees seem to genuinely like working there and are very talkative. I'm happy to say that I've been quite pleased with the Pork Shu Mai, the Shells and Brie with Asparagus, and the Soy Sauce. I get a little kick out of seeing all the silly names they are packaged under, too (Chinese is Trader Ming's, French is Trader Jacques'). I will say that the lamb left something to be desired. If you aren't comfortable cooking that type of meat, this is a good option. It will do the trick. If you have any type of kitchen knowledge, you're better off baking your own rack. It will turn out better. I will probably not purchase another container of the Marinated Mozzarella either. I like the one offered at Jewel-Osco more. read more

S'mores Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich. Do I really need to write any more? Okay, hows 'bout, I was walking through the store today and a fine young gentleman employee asked me if I wanted to try something. Not an unusual question for strangers to ask me, I said 'Sure!'. And he unearthed a box of s'mores ice cream cookie sandwiches under the regular choco chip cookie sandwiches, opened the box, took an individually wrapped sandwiched, tossed it over to me, and walked away... like some sorta Hawaiian shirt wearin' ice cream angel. A few moments later, I take a bite- it feels like a giant flash of light, then I feel nothing, weightless, hovering, more light, I'm going towards it, I think I see golden gates, and then... some lady rams we with her cart while bending over to grab green tea mochi and brought back down to Earth. This is the greatest food ever invented. Now, I'm not normally a very religious person, but Trader Joe, you're my God now. And Amen Halle-whatever for the free in store sammie! read more

Oh Trader Joe's, how do I love thee. Let me count the ways. From your Avacado's Number Guac., to your awesome grade B maple syrup... from your chili spiced mango to your blue Stilton cheese, you really hit the right marks for me. Check the prices on nuts here - among the best you'll find and not at all lacking in quality. You were my first TJ, so you get extra marks for nostalgia, fairly or not. This particular Trader Joe's is certainly not the largest or fanciest one that I've been to, but it's laid out in an organized fashion and nothing in the store is far enough from the front door to be considered exercise after you've reached it. I think the smallish nature of the store gives it an intimate feel, and the staff are correspondingly warm and friendly. You'll occasionally hear the clang of a bell from the front - of which I cannot discern its meaning, but it somehow adds to the ambiance. I think I've heard this at other TJs but I cannot say for sure. Maybe it goes off automatically when a product comparable to mainstream grocery stores is 25% less. Who knows. read more

I usually abhor going to do any sort of grocery shopping on a Sunday afternoon, Traders Joes being no exception. My palms were beginning to sweat, and I could feel the tension building as I saw the massive amounts of cars in the parking lot. I could have saved myself a bunch of stress, because this was the most mellow Sunday shopping experience of my life. Although small and crowded, every shopper was mellow and content, and no one was getting in a fight over the last package of Applewood smoked chicken sausage, because the employees were keeping everything stocked and running smoothly. Located in a strip mall set back from Ogden, you may drive past this place without blinking an eye. Not as extensive as other locations, but you can easily stock up on your TJ's basics here. read more

This is not my usual Trader Joe's location. But I'll hit this location when I'm looking for those popular items that seem to run out quickly (Cookie Butter and the seasonal bad-ass cookie--Peppermint Jo-Jo's). This layout is larger than my usual TJ's in Glen Ellyn, more spacious but more fluorescent. Bright lights in this TJ City for sure. But it still has all my favorite goods--prepared foods, great wine selection, chips, cheese, dairy, produce. I don't think there is an item I've gotten from TJ's that I didn't like. And like I said, they seem to stock more of the seasonal or popular items than my usual TJ's. Super friendly service and fun shopping atmosphere. read more

Particular things (in no specific order!) that I enjoy purchasing at TJ's: - Great selection of wines at very low prices! You can get a great bottle of wine for less than $8 here. I specifically enjoy the Sebeka shiraz, or any of their South African wines. The Zarafa Pinotage, at 5.99 a bottle is seriously a great everyday wine! -Chocolate covered sunflower seeds- need I say more? -Thai style frozen green beans - spicy and delicious. -Rice Biryani - I could eat this stuff till I blow up! -Cilantro salad dressing (found in the refrigerated area near the salad) - a low calorie but high in taste delight for us cilantro lovers! -Healthy "raw" chocolate chip cookies - My new find at TJ's. They are only heated to 70 degrees to preserve important enzymes - they are made with fruit and vegetable juices and contain tomatoes, so there is lycopene in them; then they are dehydrated. So crunchy and crispy with a unique tang at the end, and they are only 40 calories each. -Pineapple salsa - throw this over a piece of salmon and bake in the oven - you've got yourself a quick and easy gourmet healthy meal in minutes. -Daffodils at $1.49 a bunch to bring spring indoors! Finally, have you ever noticed the music they play here? A mix of old 70's and 80's disco and pop, interspersed with some great 60's motown - I'm usually dancing around in the aisles as I shop for more treasures! And it's cheap too, so you can splurge and save money at the same time. read more

I grew up in Willowbrook and I remember when this Trader Joe's opened, it was the first one in our area and we were in complete awe of the new and exciting products they offered, the refreshingly comfortable take on a grocery store, and the fact that any business would willingly ask their staff to wear Hawaiian shirts. Now, the patina has worn on Trader Joe's "newness" but this location, conveniently located on Ogden Avenue in a strip mall with decent parking, continues to be a standout. The produce is always fresh, the products well stocked, and the staff are fantastic. I generally hate chit chatting at checkout, but these people are so friendly and funny, they get me talking every time. Good location of this wonderful chain, friendly staff and great prices for good ole pantry standbys can't be beat! Very healthful all around, and I can't stop eating their no-hydrogenated oil oreo knock offs, they're so good they melt in your mouth. Great house brand items such as their hand soap and soy milk are good quality and very good price. Beware lunchtime shopping excursions as the parking lot is almost full and drivers aren't the most cautious kind. If you use one of their paper or cloth bags when you come back, you get a chance to enter a raffle to win free groceries. read more

We came to this Trader Joe's not being able to find what we needed at other TJ's in the city. I really would like to applaud the staff here for their efforts in COVID-19 prevention. They took social distancing measures very seriously and kept a strict count of people in the store all while being friendly and trying to make our shopping trip as least stressful as possible. We loved that the woman at the front of the store did such a thorough job in wiping our cart down before we got it and was very diligent about keeping customers inside the store to a minimum to follow social distancing guidelines. Items within the store were so well stocked and easy to find and quickly grab to make our trip as efficient as possible. Everyone within the store obeyed social distancing which is something I really appreciate. At checkout lines they also have lines marked clearly for where to stand so you don't crowd cashiers and other shoppers. From the measures taken to adhere to COVID precautions to the friendly staff they made our shopping experience as least stressful as possible! Now, I have to admit I am _very_ late to this whole Trader Joe lovefest. I only discovered it over the summer out of necessity, stuck in California with Trader Joe's being in walking distance of work and home and on the way back from the train station. But man, where have you been all my life, TJs??? I love, love, love the frozen foods. Seriously. If you cranked up portions and served them on china, I could believe that they came from a restaurant's catering division. Yes. That good. I am a particular fan of the Indian cuisine (butter chicken, chicken tikka masala) but their potstickers, french onion soup and countless other items are great too. Basically, if it looks good, grab it- it probably tastes just as good! I recently have taken a liking to the fresh produce too. I recently purchased a peppercorn garlic pork loin. So simple to make. And even with a klutz like me in the kitchen, it was DELICIOUS! Seriously, I can't wait to pick up another. The service at TJs is probably the best part of the whole experience. Can't find something? Talk to an associate- they are cheery and know the store like the back of their hand. Need an idea for dinner? They can help. Bored and want to strike up small talk? Yup they'll do that too. I've even seen them offer to personally take down a customer's contact info to call her when a backordered seasonal item came back to the store. When is the last time you saw that....well, anywhere? I also love that everything I buy at TJ's, while not wal-mart cheap, will not break the bank. I love paying for quality and that's what you get here. I cannot recommend Trader Joe's highly enough. Shopping at Trader Joe's is a strange amalgam of going to Costco, Aldi and being on some island too all at the same time. The music nearly always impresses me with its randomness and coolness. The other day I was in there and they jumped from "Can't Get Enough of You Baby" by Smashmouth to "Tell Mama" by Etta James. Interestingly enough, both of those songs are in my Spotify, but TJ's has no idea about that, do they?? :) As for the store, it offers great fresh fruit and veggies. They seem to turnover their stock almost daily. Their nuts and dried fruit section is superb. Highly recommend the coconut cashews. And their frozen pizza section features pizza actually made in Italy. The star of the show for me though is their frozen fish. The assortment of wild caught, flash frozen fish is staggering. Swai, salmon, shrimp, snapper and mahi mahi makes my mouth water. The prices are reasonable, they give you your money back if you don't like something and they let you try the product in the store if you wish. The people that work there are happy, helpful and love food and drink. Oh yeah: Check out their wine and beer section too. It's pretty sweet. read more
