The employees at the Eagle Rock Trader Joe's location are rude, rude, rude and it makes the shopping experience very unpleasant. Shop at the Pasadena or Glendale locations if you can. read more

I love this place. It's my go to TJ's however I miss the old security guard. I don't know why he left, but I'm sad. He was great at directing traffic. When I came out of the store this evening the new lady security guard was standing next to my car smoking a cigarette. If she wants to blow out her lungs whatever great. I have this thing for their salads ... and their butter waffle cookie/cracker thingies... and their black mango tea ... and their granny smiths... and their pirates booty ... and and and and... I love my local trader joe's. Though they have moved some stuff around, and now it takes me a little longer to get in and out of this place - they still have a better store than the one in Glendale. This is one of the places where I can't just buy one thing. Last night, for example, I was super craving their vegan chocolate chip cookies, and so I decided to go ahead and grab some ----- low and behold, i end up being in there for about 30 minutes, leaving with about $30 worth of other stuff. LOL. oh TJ's, how you tease me so. Anyways, cookie butter isn't where it used to be anymore. Like most of the other TJ's, you are limited (here youre limited to 2), and you've gotta get it at the captain's desk. That's located just to the right of you right when you walk in. The only downfall about this place is their parking. Especially around 5-8ish, you've gotta have a little patience, because everybody's trying to get in and out of that place. If youre lucky, you'll find some on the street, but aside from that keep your eyes open to the cars backing out and coming into a spot in the lot. On another note, the people here are very sweet. One of the best organize treasures everything too. The Staff here was awesome everything was clean and I found everything is look for in a quick fashion. Has the entire student body of USC moved into the neighborhood? I'm seeing more and more young fresh grads running around the neighborhood in recent months, and they are all wearing cut off jeans and tank tops. Most Trader Joe's always get 5 stars, this location had security help you with parking , it was clean and friendly staff. I love coming to trader for alcohol lol. You can find 6 pack of Sapporo for 5.99 or can buy individual beers. I came for cheese and wine and beer. I found everything I needed except this wine from Spain they didn't have it in this location not biggie because I tried a new wine that said cherry blossom for only 5 bucks and it was so good. My favorite things about this TJ's are that parking is relatively easy, they don't rearrange the aisles every month, super friendly staff, and the managers always remember my daughter and give her balloons and stickers! If that's not a recipe for customer loyalty, I don't know what is. In comparison to the other somewhat nearby locations (Glendale Blvd and Hyperion), this store has it together - both in terms of keeping items well-stocked, never having too long of lines, and offering a healthy assortment of organic produce which is nice. The one and only tiny issue I have with Trader Joe's in general is that occasionally items will have a sell by or use by date that was definitely off. Always give things a smell test! read more

Trader Joe's, in general, is a great market. Gourmet and healthy items at bargain prices. Come here for cheap wines and interesting items. Not to be missed. The two star rating is for this particular location. The parking is not satisfactory. I've had to leave without shopping because I couldn't find parking. Tight parking also leads to rude and dangerous actions on the part of overly aggressive drivers. Safety is an issue. Traffic backs up in the street and this endangers pedestrians and other motorists. A remodel is in the works. I'll raise my rating if things change. But my advice to you is go to another location or during off hours. read more

What can you say about Trader Joe's? They are great and I'm thrilled this one is conveniently located in my neighborhood. The people who work here are especially friendly. And, overall the goods are good. I recommend the lime popsicles, Pasadena Salad, eggplant parmesan, organic green beans, the frozen salmon with cream cheese filling and greek yogurts. I have noticed that the milk there doesn't last nearly as long as the milk from Von's. Not sure if it has fewer preservatives or what, but I don't buy milk at Trader Joe's anymore because I've had it go bad quickly too many times. Also, some of the things aren't as good as others--I've not had luck with the flavor of their whole wheat tortillas, salsa or spaghetti sauce. Beware that the parking lot isn't big enough for the number of people who want to shop here. People end up waiting in a car line waiting for people to leave--not good. Try looking for the spaces in front of the store on Colorado Blvd. Or, go after the crowds--between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. is good. read more

This is my favorite grocery store. Prices are reasonable and produce is fresh. They are always trying to keep shelves stocked. This is my first stop if I need flowers. New expansion and helpful staff make this a stand-out TJ's. Lots of merchandise and a really swell staff that are up for the challenge of hunting down whatever is missing from the floor. God, I like the staff more than most of my extended family! Even when full-tilt boogie busy- it never feels crowded. Parking lot is bigger than most trader joes! Customer service is always consistent. I appreciate the tips that is offered upon checkout about the items I am purchasing. Or even recommendations on what to try next time. They recently underwent a remodel about a year ago...its much bigger (even though they didn't increase the store size) flows much better and nice wide aisles. I especially love the great selection of fresh flowers and plants that great you when you enter the store. The scrumptious samples are always a plus! I really like the new set up. It is much larger and easier to find items. The parking really sucks balls. You have to be very patient if your driving because parking is a nightmare. I suggest walking if you are close by or parking on the street. Some of the workers are a little rude. There is one particular cashier (white older dude) who can definitely afford to be a little nicer to people. I always try to be friendly and say good morning to him, but he rarely gives me any eye contact or responds to my greetings. Love all Trader Joes and shop at Eagle Rock, La Cañada, Pasadena and Glendale depending on where I'm doing my errands for the day, but mainly I do 80% of my shopping at the Eagle Rock store for 30 plus years now. My only wish is for more organic and individual organic produce the same as the conventional. Sometimes I just need one sweet potato or lemon and do not want to buy an entire bag, so this forces me to have to drive to Sprouts or Whole Foods when I'd rather do all my shopping at TJ's. Also more vegetarian and vegan options wood be great as far as the prepared foods go. Little by little they are expanding their organic items. The staff here is always friendly and helpful and they take things back without question should there be an issue. Trader Joes has great customer service, something which is rare in today's businesses. They always have interesting and different food items and I love that they always offer samples of new products. I have bought many items after sampling them which I would normally not have tried. As many people have commented, the parking can be rather challenging on the weekends and it helps when someone is out there to point out available parking spaces, this helps to keep things moving. The only rude employee I ever encountered was the last security guard in the parking lot, an older gentleman who was there for years. He seemed to think he was a police officer who could yell at people as he directed traffic in and out of the store. I don't come to Trader Joes to be treated this rudely and yelled at by, of all people, a security guard/ parking attendant! They seem to have a new guard now that doesn't yell at people. Glad the old one is gone! For a while he upset me so much that I avoided this store and went to La Cañada to do my shopping. read more

Trader Joes has great options for healthy , fresh food. The staff are friedly and helpful. The prices are not bad, and you really get the feeling of shopping at the corner market instead of a supermarket. The parking lot here is a nightmare, and street parking is tricky since it is a busy street. If you time it right (not during rush hour) you can get in and out with no trouble. read more

I was looking for broccoli chips on 3-12-18 and no luck all sold out. I asked an employee when would they restock the shelf and she replied to come back the following day in the morn0ing which its now 9am and the shelf is completely empty. I asked an employee and said to come back late in the afternoon due to them working on the truckload.. All Trader Joe's parking lots are stupidly awful (WHY?!), but this one at dinnertime rivals the Hyperion TJ's lot: it's really small, cars going in and out in droves, people walking all over, slowly of course, cars backed up into the street...just aggggh. The store itself is the smallest TJ's I've been in, meaning less selection and everything is cramped. There were tons of people (and don't let your kids wander!!!!!!!!) and I was getting really anxious. Maybe at, like, 10am, when it's not so busy, I could deal, but never again at 6. read more

I love this trader joes, why? 1) location, it's right by my house so I'm a little bias... 2) the adjacent and expanded parking lot has done wonders! Okay well sort of... I would avoid this TJs around lunch time and dinner time as the parking is hectic.. It's a one way kind of parking lot too so it's not really helpful when people want to wait for people to leave. 3) one of the biggest TJs I've been too. My usual complaints about Trader Joe's still apply to my local store - the parking sucks and having to buy produce in, what is to me, bulk is wasteful in terms of unused food AND packaging. That said, I still love and frequent my local store. I've yet to find better deals on salad mixes or rice milk, nor have I been able to find soygurt that tastes as good. This store is a little on the smaller side but you can still find most of the regular items here. They tend to sell out of the artisan breads pretty quickly but other than that, I've never not been able to find what I wanted. I've ran the gamut on local TJ's and this has quickly become my go-to location. For whatever reason, the ambiance here seems to be better, more pleasant. Not that frenzied vibe that seems to often be synonymous with TJ's in this neck of the woods. The aisles are more spacious and the product selection is well-organized. I rarely have to ask where an item is located. The arrangement makes sense and products aren't tucked away hidden. I don't have to run circles around the lot to grab a parking space and the folksy-guitar player who sometimes strums outside compliments this aesthetic. I usually try to go early afternoon for a smooth, efficient shopping experience. read more

Not my top choice of trader joes. it's a smaller location, but their fast lines are a plus compared to the ones in Hollywood. They all have a pretty close selection to fresh foods and produce, healthy options, and vegan entrees. I love their fresh fruit and free range meats. I have been coming to this Trader Joe's now for the past 15 years and is always consistently friendly, and the staff are very helpful. Just min from my house now; which makes it even more convenient. I think every Location has a special something to offer. The Eagle Rock location offers a very large selection of plants located in the front of the store right before you walk in. Their plants are always fresh and healthy every time I come here. Has a big parking lot, but at peek hours it can be challenging. The Lake location has the best produce- I feel they have the largest space compare to other locations. The parking is the best here! They've tons of spaces available all the time. The Arroyo parkway location is really small, and has the worst parking, but love the friendly staff. They're always consistent, always fresh! One thing I think they can change is the amount of plastic they use. Most of their produce is wrapped in plastic, not sure why.... Other then that, I love Trader Joes!! read more

I love going to Trader Joe's to buy my grocery! I love how they have this little place where you get to try samples of their new food! It's very delicious! The food is very healthy, and it's at a very good price. The people that work at TJ's are pretty nice and fun! They are also very helpful. I like how they have some little area for the kids to draw stuff! They have little coloring sheets that you can have you kids color while you get to shop for your groceries. The kids can get a chance to get their sheet hung up! It's wonderful! There is more space for parking now! So, you don't have to get squished in those tight spaces anymore! They've expanded it. It's pretty cool! I am such a huge fan of going to this market! I go here all the time! It's my favorite place to go grocery shopping to buy some stuff for dinner and lunch! The salads and sushi are delicious. Yum yum! I also love to get their pasta and pizzas! And let's not forget the little mini ice-cream cones, haha! Yes, very good! read more

This is a horrible parking lot you are right at the end of Colorado blvd. almost going near to go into the 110 frwy interchange to the entrance to go to Pasadena and it is a very small parking lot that is very dangerous which i almost got hit by a car just trying to get a parking space which i didn't like at all. Then the store is really small inside, very small selection of items and i wasn't impressed with any of their produce organic veggies or fruit produce items like i usually find at the other Glendale and Pasadena stores. This is just not the same feeling you get when you go into this Trader Joe's! read more

Ive been conducting an experiment. Ive been a customer of TJ's for most of my California life, (going on to 34 years). In every neighborhood Ive lived I've looked for 2 things, nearest yoga studio, nearest Trader Joes. When my husband and I bought our first home in ER, we found our neighborhood TJ's only 1 mile away. I love ER, nuff said, but here's the thing, my experiment has show that this TJ's is one of the least friendliests stores Ive ever walked into. I come here at least 3 times a week, and here's the scoop: -avoid the food sample lady, she's a seriously mean person. As soon as you get close to the display she'll give you a questioning/dirty look -dont expect that the cashier will greet you or engage you in any way outside of the obligatory sounding "did you find what you needed today?" Im tempted to say next time, "Hmm, no, expected a friendly grocery staff, are you him?" -if you are looking for something dont expect the myriad of clerks to stop to ask you if you need help, better try your luck at the register. -be very wary of produce, often what Ive found is much of it is very close to expiration, and a few times Ive had to take things back because they have spoiled within a day of purchase. -crowded parking lot that is TINY compared to the neighborhood needs, they have a parking attendant that spends most of his time inside the store oogling customers to make sure they leave as soon as they finish the check out. Now, in contrast to my experiment Ive gone with a control sample. Ive compared the customer service at ER TJ's with the customer service at Arcadia TJ's. If you want to be part of my experiment, try this: go to the TJ of your choice, (any except this one) then contrast it when you come here. Then feel free to respond to my review. Here's the skinny. I will always be a TJ's customer for life. Even if I move to another state this is a national chain now, so what Ive decided to do is stick to the TJ's that are friendly and appreciate me and provide good customer service, ergo Arcadia/Pasadena/Weho/Glendale.
