Love this location! First of all, there is ample parking in a big wide lot, not the typical maze type of parking lot that is hard to navigate and is the "con" of many other locations. The Trader's here is in a large strip mall with big box stores so parking is never an issue. Inside is big and spacious, bright and clean with wide aisles so you never feel like you are on top of other shoppes. Yes, the cleanliness is because it's new, but the spaciousness is due to the design. Props for that. Well stocked with all the typical Trader Joe's items, as stores are pretty universal. Trader's isn't we here I do all my shopping, but when I'm looking for cheese, crackers and charcuterie items, this is where I go. I also love their affordable bagged salads, sugar snap peas, Persian cucumbers, small curd cottage cheese, and eggs - all affordable weekly purchases. Can always find decent wine at affordable prices, too. When they are offering tastings, I always give them a try and discover something new. And of course the 99 cent greeting cards are a steal! Plus the fresh flowers and plant section not to be missed. currently they have bromeliads which have one single bright orange, red or yellow bloom that lasts for months. I have about a half dozen! While I don't live in this area, when I go to have my car serviced or I'm visiting friends in Oregon City, my car automatically turns into the parking lot. We visited this location on a weekday and there were hardly any people in the morning. Same look and friendly feel as always!

The excitement is real... and deserved. Seriously, someone was so excited they were handing out announcements in the form of postcards at the Milwaukie Farmer's Market last month. Love the enthusiasm! In West Linn we've been campaigning for our own TJs for years, so there was much anticipation about this new store creeping ever closer to our 'burb. It opened with much fanfare in early December and I enjoyed my first trip here. Parking is easy (much less crowded than my regular stores in LO and 82nd Avenue locations). This location is also more spacious than the other two, with large, well-lit aisles and bustling associates so everything was well stocked. Easy access to the store which is located on McLoughlin Blvd. and close to other big box stores (Walmart Grocery) to complete your shopping list. My only request is that they add a striped crosswalk by the entrance (similar to Walmart) to aid pedestrians. read more

Welp, TJ's does it again. Greeted by a bunch of beautiful bouquets, I came in for the snacks and stayed for some inevitable grocery shopping. Gotta love the free samples from a funny cheese aficionado, and random free crackers at checkout! I especially love my new faux paper bag from their glorious wall of reusable shoppers. read more

Nothing is ever on sale because everything is always on sale, best prices for the best products from flowers to steaks. Potato chips to olive oil. No coupons to clip, no long lines to check out and all the help you could ever need.They insist on taking you to find something you asked about. Groceries cost too much today, but TJ's has found a way to have fun while spending. It's almost exciting to walk thru their doors, knowing how absolutely clean, well stocked and and right all the products are. I've almost forgotten to say, what's in the box, can or package is always the best. We are so grateful to have TJ's so close to home now, nestled right between Fred Meyer and Walmart Neighborhood Store, down the road from Safeway, walking distance to Grocery Outlet, where before they opened, we had food from the other stores on our shelves, where now it's almost gone, just TJ's. Don't worry about the cost, always lowest or well worth it, don't worry about having to buy 5 to get the discount, don't concern yourself about getting there on Friday only, none of the games the other stores play are played at TJ's, just games played finding things in the store with your kids or bringing back something you don't like for a refund, yes, full refund if you don't like the fresh sauerkraut, or chips, they have taken away every reason not shopping there. Well this is really sad, but not overly surprising: I went in to make a single purchase and the price at the register was 50 cents higher than the posted price. Almost 20% higher than it should have been on a very common item. The deer-in-the-headlights checker said something like, "well that's the price it says." She reminded me of someone who should work at a Dairy Queen as far as customer service skills. The pay and training may be close. I have been in this store about 4 times since they opened 6 months ago. It's a different cashier every time and I shop weekdays and early hours so are they burning through workers? Anyway, I went back and took a picture of the posted price since no one was behind me. I was right. I showed her the correct price and her manager was also right there. Did I hear a, "we're sorry, or we'll correct that right away." from the lady manager? NO! It was more of a smug attitude look of, "we're going to charge whatever and it's almost an inconvenience you caught the mistake." I figure the checker wouldn't be sharp enough to catch a $10 overcharge and couldn't care less if it occurred. She also may not have the authority to correct overcharges. I've actually seen that at other stores. Maybe that's why the manager was right there? A worker that thinks a customer might lie about an overcharge probably shouldn't be a cashier. Not at this store and it's clientele. Everyone buying that item will probably be overcharged unless the customer catches it like I did. So... I guess that's one more store you need to make sure the price marked is the price you pay. As if their prices aren't high enough. Watch them like a hawk. Having Trader Joe's in our neighborhood came as a huge surprise and a welcome addition to grocery shopping. Another surprise was discovering our lovely neighbor Opal is an employee. Opal's pleasant personality, strong work ethic, and friendly manner is a perfect match for the McLoughlin store. We wish her well in her role at TJ's! The aisles are wide, the shelves well stocked, and the employees busy in their tasks and eager to be of service. My first visit was one of exploration and discovery. I was able to find every item on my list. For neighbors unfamiliar with Trader Joe's be rest assured to product quality is well above average. Packaged portions are geared towards smaller sized quantities. Perfect for a couple. Less waste to be sure! The cold cases are stocked with pasta, seafood, breakfast, and international cuisine. Asian, Indian, Mexican, Polish, and Italian are well represented. Very generous pricing and a relaxed return policy I stills consumer trust. The checkout experience is interesting. Often I'm asked by the cashier about my plans for the evening or day. I've grown accustomed to this pattern. I've answered that I was headed over to the cashier's house for dinner and a movie. The enthusiasm and positive mood by the store's personnel will brighten the moment and is an excellent example of how to provide a first rate shopping experience. This positivity is in full swing at the McLoughlin store. During my first visit I entered the store needing to use the rest room. Two gender neutral rooms are offered, but in this case were occupied. I stood patiently awaiting a vacancy as my need was urgent. Seconds turned into minutes which demanded of me to be resolute in holding my urgency at bay. Several polite door handle jiggles netted me with no change despite my being able to hear hand washing and paper towel dispensing. Finally, a vacancy is available which I moved to fill. The woman who finally left was oblivious to her surroundings. Clearly a case of COTU Syndrome. Ours is an aging population throughout Milwaukie, Oak Grove, and Gladstone. Many of the residents are affected by various health conditions which can cause an awkward public experience. Conscious living in the public space will favorably support people in dire need of relief. Choose conscious living and mindfulness so that the handsome older guy doesn't wet himself in public. As the years pass, the neighborhood is evolving. Aside from better public transportation via the light rail, we now have geocery retailers providing healthier choices and affordability. They have a lot to learn about customer service. I've been shopping at Trader Joe's stores since the 1980's and have always had a wonderful experience. Not so at this store. The employees don't know the merchandise and can't answer questions about where things are or why they are missing. One manager spoke to me in such a hot, uncomfortable way that I'm not sure I'll ever go back. I've never had that experience in decades of shopping at TJ in Lake Oswego. I'll have to back there to keep from being traumatized. read more

Just went in on 9-10-25 and I got so many items we needed. I love their fresh produce because it lasts so much longer. Broccoli, mushrooms, raspberries, blueberries,strawberries,blackberries,salads,steaks,chicken greasts,salads,frozen goods and so much more. I always find more than is on my list and for sure my gyozas! Fast friendly service to help me get through checkout, using my own bags.the store is always super clean. I can say the only downside is customers, and let me tell you why. They will crowd your space bubble and block you with their cart and walk away from it, or step in front of you and stand there. My favorite is they can't say excuse me and trust me I do say you could use your words(we were all taught to say excuse me can I get by, just like please and thank you)! But this customer issue is not their problem! I will keep coming by this store though because I have yet to see an empty shelf! Great job Trader Joe's! read more

I went in late on Valentine's Day to get some flowers as my teen son was running out of time. There were two amazing ladies that helped me get tissue pick flowers and one lady with the sweettart earrings even helped me put them together so they looked nice as there happened to be a little gap in customers at the right time! These ladies banded together with this mama to make a happy Valentine's Day for my son. This is why Trader Joe's stands out as a place I am so happy came to our community and will have my loyalty. I wish I had gotten their names but one had a long sleeve blue shirt on stocking goods and the other was a cashier that had conversation heart earrings on.
