Amazing customer service! I had bought some peonies over a week ago and they never opened, so I came in to check if I would be able to bring them back later in the week if they still did not open to exchange. They let me just get new peonies since I guess that happens with some of the flowers in their bunches sometimes. I always have great experiences here though and the snacks are always fun and unique. There is also plenty of parking out front which is great and I like coming early in the morning so it's quiet and pretty empty. read more

Love this Trader Joe's location. They have so many different food options from fresh produce to pre-made meals and frozen snacks and treats. They also have beautiful flowers for amazing prices. The workers at this location are wonderful. If you can't find something they will be sure to find it for you in back or even let you know when the next shipment is coming in. This store can get pretty crowded so make sure you come prepared! Tip: The flowers they have are great for making your own floral arrangements and much cheaper than buying from a flower shop. Trader Joe's is in my top 3 favorite grocery stores to shop. It's not number 2 or number 3. I love how friendly the staff are and finding all of the products I learn about on their podcast. Yes, they have a podcast and you should check it out. They have fun seasonal finds that tempt you to stretch your food boundaries, if you have any, in new, delicious ways. The quality of their offerings can't be beat. I find the staples that I love and find new things to add to the roster. They can please every palate and diet. If you're a meat love or a vegan, you will find delicious foods here to satisfy your cravings and your principles. Can't go wrong at Joe's! Great frozen options for dinner! Plus I love to stock up on their yummy sauces...Vodka sauce, green curry, pesto. This trip I even got fresh flowers and potted basil! Good value for the price! My son is looking for pear chips, but settled on some apple chips that he thought were good. The banana chips were not as much of a hit though. Also tried some three cheese mini crackers that I'm not loving either. Maybe they'll have some samples sometime so I won't have to figure out what do with opened boxes of food we don't really like. Hmmmm Definitely going for the flowers and frozen section. Delicious options that are easy to make from the freezer section. And still always stock up on those jarred sauces. Yum! read more

Trader Joe's is my favorite grocery store in the Twin Cities and although I don't frequent this particular location often, it fulfills my grocery needs when I do. I was recently there the day after Valentine's Day to snag some February Fearless Flyer goodies. I grabbed a bouquet of pink roses for my mom (a dozen roses for $9.99) and was in love with their selection. They always have the BEST flowers for the cheapest price. As for treats, I grabbed a box that are my absolute guilty pleasure - brookies ($4.49). I don't eat a whole lot of sweets, but brookies have my heart. So soft, and the perfect blend of a chocolate chip cookie and brownie. They had raspberry hearts too - their cute shortbread cookies with the raspberry filling in the middle. A Valentine staple. Prices on many of their baked goods were a bit steep, but we noticed the cheapest option were the brownies for anyone craving desserts. I also got a box of their Garlic Naan crackers ($3.79 a box). Can't forget about their pull apart cheddar jalapeño bread - a great snack or start to any meal! For frozen goods, my boyfriend and I really like their chicken fried rice and pork dumplings. I enjoy their lamb vindaloo too. I get it often as a quick meal that's filling. You can't go wrong with any of their pizzas or flatbreads either if you're having guests over. Our checkout was quick and the lady was sweet - she smelled the roses and told us how beautiful they are. She was right - days later, and the roses are blooming and vibrant. I was in a plaza that has Olive Garden, Staples, and Michaels. After visiting all three stores, I got into my rental car and decided to check the rest of it out. It's a fairly large plaza. Guess what? I lucked out and spotted Trader Joe's. I immediately parked and went in to check it out. I like Trader Joe's because it has unique items that work with my food habits. I tend to consume sugar-free soy beverage. This place has it. I picked up a carton. I am also borderline lactose-intolerant. I found dairy-free mini mochi. I bought a package of Thai tea mini mochi. OMG, it's creamy and yummy. I also don't feel too guilty eating them because they are small. Staying in a hotel room with a kitchenette has its advantages. I like eating breakfast in my room. I managed to buy mini (see a theme?) chicken tacos that do not contain any dairy. They are so flavourful and delicious! I normally like getting snacks here. However, I wasn't in snacking mode, so I didn't. The turkey jerky looked good, though. I may have to go back and get some. The young man at the cashout area was so friendly and nice. I paid with a credit card. He bagged all my items and wished me a great day. I do hope that Trader Joe's will come to Canada. Trader Joe's is a very unique type of grocery store. Because there's not a lot of square footage, they do have limited variety, but what they do have is usually excellent. I'm sure it's well researched because I don't think I've ever bought anything that wasn't pretty good. Overall, I think the prices are very reasonable. Actually, I think you'll see a little bit of savings if you compare it to Lunds and Byerlys or especially Whole Foods. Lots of great snacks, the frozen entrée type section is outstanding. We have tried many of the international flavors and they are all excellent. Meats and produce section's are all good quality and nice selection. employees all seem happy and enjoying their jobs and they do it well. When I go, I try to get in and get out. I'm not sure why but this place attracts quite a few self-centered shoppers. It's not just the millennials although they are a big part of it, but the Older crowd as well, boomers I guess, all oblivious to their surroundings. It's a small store, so everybody has to be a little courteous. I've never gone to the store and thought to myself, Oh I need to make a few phone calls and I'll just do it on my speakerphone so I can be hands-free, because I'm such a busy person, but somehow several of them show up at a time, every time I'm there. Oh And maybe bringing your toddlers to run around might not be such a great idea. read more

Small human minimalist universalist store: you do not have to walk 50 yards to get your item. Well managed space. They always have free coffee which is my treat. And some free food to try. Sorry, I might be the only person on this board not enamored by this place. Don't get me wrong, I like it fine and the people that work here are great conversationalists but it really reminds me of an Aldi that caters to people willing to spend more money. I find the whimsical labeling and personalized descriptions of products to be a fine marketing technique that does make people want to try things they normally would not buy. However, the products are similar if not identical to what I can get in many places but they now have an unfamiliar label and a cutesy write up from the staff. When you take into account that some of the item sizing is smaller so the pricing seems cheaper, unless you are paying attention I find that at least half the time it is not a better deal. In fact, because they make the products seem less familiar, people will buy it regardless of cost because they do not have a reference price point to know if it is a good deal or not. It is tough to be an educated shopper here and to me, coming here on a regular basis is a good way to grocery shop yourself into bankruptcy so I don't. I have no problem popping in here for 1 or 2 things that I know I can't get anywhere else but I have personally not found it to be so over the top that I can't get along without it. read more

I really love this TJ's for its location location location! You can easily find a parking spot! SLP is a nightmare! I love the variety of organic food, variety of new items, the produce always look good, the fresh flowers are beautiful, and pretty much I cannot live without the jasmine rice! I've shopped here a lot since it opened. I don't know where they import the employees, but they are always hyped up on great juju and a lot of them love talking about food more than I do. Every thing I get at TJ's is great and very competitive prices. I'm a huge fan of all their food except for their produce (I admit I'm a produce snob). that the store isn't too big and you can actually get in and out of this one fairly quickly. People were buying everything in sight but the attitude was great. All the checkouts were manned with no waiting. A nice young man rang up my groceries. I reached for my wallet and nothing was there. I told the cashier ì has to run to my car to get it. After 2 steps I realized I drove my wife's car. No money. With a bit of embarrassment, I told the cashier I'd put the things back. He said, "That's okay. You can just pay it forward." I said, "Excuse me. I don't understand. ", thinking maybe Trader Joe's had an Eat-now-pay-later program for forgetful old men. He said, "Just pay for someone else." With that, he took out his wallet and stuck his credit card in the reader. Trader Joe's has created a great culture by hiring and inspiring great people. I think every Trader Joe's that I've ever shopped in around this country has given me the same solid impression. I really appreciate how they hire (though it's obviously not a guarantee) upbeat and passionate people. Service often trumps a product being sold (well, within reason!) This location is always well-kept, well-stocked, and efficient in the checkout process, especially with an abundance of shoppers. Also, as with any location, there are CLEARLY some favorite products that customers favor (including myself), which leaves a vacancy for extended periods of time. It's the nature of the beast when you're a large chain. It's a good day if you can get the plain frozen asparagus AND canned no-additive coconut milk (which would be my lack on this particular visit)! Worth the wait and definitely increases the demand when they are able to source it! Where I toggle between a 3 or 4 star rating is the lack of transparency in sourcing their foods &/or ingredients. I understand contracts and agreements, but not only are most folks waking up to what they're eating, it's a longterm winning strategy to, at the very least, let your eaters know how/where food is raised/grown/processed. There's the recent research revealing high quality dark chocolates of varying brands containing heavy metals (including many of trader joe's brand chocolates and (dark choc, too)! Speculation is that it came from soil that it's grown on. It sucks, but hey, I think TJ customers are still a forgiving lot and would like to be included in helping guide your success through transparency rather than contracted non-compete secrecy. I still love TJ's and think they have a brilliant concept through streamlining and self-branding...but because of the closed sourcing trade, I'm very okay spending the extra bucks at co-ops for most of my ingredients (especially animal proteins). I've never been to this location before, and had a great experience! While we had to wait outside in a line due to how many people they allow in the store, the workers instructing us were extremely friendly and conversed with us. The store was a little confusing to navigate compared to other locations I've been to, and they seemed a little picked over, but it was still a great experience. I was also a little bummed about some of the produce. Lots of the vegetables weren't very fresh and were starting to brown. Not a big deal, though. Am I the last person in the world to find out that Trader Joe's is owned by Aldi? I feel like I've been had. Kinda how I felt when I learned Chipotle is owned by McDonald's. Somehow I can spend an incredible amount of time strolling down aisles just looking at all the wonderful products you offer. Yes, I know I can't get everything here but what you do carry is oh so amazing! Here are a few of my favorites- -Nuts, nuts and more nuts. Packaged in larger bags or in smaller individual "to go" packages. -Their variety of greens and different funky combinations. My latest purchase was called "power to the greens" (a combination of kale, chard and spinach). -Fresh flowers and you don't have to spend a fortune for a bouquet. Prices range from $3.99 to $9.99. Your pick! -Don't overlook the greeting cards either. All for just 99 cents. -Great assortment of meats, cheese and fresh organic fruits and veggies. But not at the Minnetonka store! Just an FYI. I'm here at least once a week, and I've never had a problem parking! We live a stone's throw away from this place. Customer service is always stellar at this location. For instance, I was at the check out counter and asked if they carried ginger beer. One of the employees demanded that I stay put while she grabbed me a case. That's Byerly's service without the exorbitant prices! They also sell beer and wine at this location. We like to purchase their inexpensive reds for cooking, 3-5 dollars a bottle! As a previous reviewer noted, their is ample parking at this location. I didn't like lugging 2 bags of groceries 1 block to my car at the SLP location. Bed, Bath and Beyond, Dick's Sporting Goods and Michael's share the same parking lot so you can get a lot of things crossed off your list in one car trip. BTW, this is the only place where you can buy Pretzel rolls. That's right. Pretzel dough in roll form. I will never put my home made burgers in between any other kind of bun. LOL!! read more

I have been going to Trader Joes (mainly the St. Louis Park and Woodbury locations) for about six years now. I am a Trader Joe's believer and cannot say enough great things about Trader Joe's as a whole! From the store layout to the products, pricing, employees etc. I can easily give Trader Joe' a 5 star review! Trader Joe's is simply high quality on a budget! A: Trader Joes pricing is phenomenal - better than Cub, Target, and Whole Foods etc. B: The staff are always friendly and beyond helpful! C: The ingredients are high quality and good for you! D: Three Buck Chuck! And E: Their in house products - lotion, shampoo, pet food etc.; keep me coming back for more! E: Free Samples! If I could, this would be the only grocery store I would shop at; however I still need my basics at the larger chain grocery stores! Unlike Cub or rainbow, the staff is always happy and takes time to help me or answer questions about their food and or help me find something in the store- however I now know where pretty much everything is in Most TJ's in the Twin Cities area! The store is always clean, well-organized and the products are always well stocked! When I go home to my parents' house, literally half of the food in the fridge, freezer and cupboards are from Trader Joes! My personal favorites are their pistachio cookies, frozen chicken enchiladas, turkey chili, apple chicken sausages, and their variety of nut & dried fruit mixes, hummus THE LIST GOES ON AND ON! Their Beef Jerky is a must have (I like the original flavor the best)! They also offer a wide variety of vegan products. Since MN is beyond dry in the winter, I highly suggest their moisturizing cream for extra dry skin - it works wonders! My friend and I ventured into the liquor store where the staff was BEYOND helpful (especially for someone who doesn't drink wine very much) and friendly! And hey, Three Buck Chuck, you can't go wrong with that! On more than once occasion, I've heard someone at your random local liquor store around the Cities ask for Three Buck Chuck and I always love hearing the response "that's at Trader Joes"! As you can tell, I LOVE TRADER JOES! And I personally think that it's the best Grocery Store out there! If I move outside of MN, one of the first couple of things I will do is look for the nearest Trader Joes. When I looked at colleges and out of state internships, I went straight to TJ's website to see where the nearest TJ's was located (sadly, this is the truth)!
