I truly applaud what they've built. Now Kowalski's are all over the place. However. They are by far the most expensive grocery store in the Twin Cities. If that doesn't bother you then this is your place. The ambience is wonderful. The stores are beautiful. They have a Starbucks counter inside if you like coffee. They have quite a large deli. You can get an entire meal ready to go. I've tried these and they are quite nice. And they're not horribly priced. They have a large assortment of specialty items from pastries to candy to Kowalski branded just about anything. The service is spotty. Sometimes it's good and sometimes not so good. Sometimes you can stand at The deli counter for what seems forever while people go back-and-forth ignoring you. Other times they're very helpful. The parking lot is not very big compared to other stores so parking can be a problem. It just depends what time of day you go. They have an attached but separate liquor store for wines and spirits. It is a very nice shopping experience and they do have a lot of wonderful specialty items you won't find anywhere else. However, be prepared to pay the price. They've been around for something like 50 years so they must be doing something right.

They let me just get new peonies since I guess that happens with some of the flowers in their bunches sometimes. I always have great experiences here though and the snacks are always fun and unique. There is also plenty of parking out front which is great and I like coming early in the morning so it's quiet and pretty empty.

They also have beautiful flowers for amazing prices. The workers at this location are wonderful. If you can't find something they will be sure to find it for you in back or even let you know when the next shipment is coming in. This store can get pretty crowded so make sure you come prepared! Tip: The flowers they have are great for making your own floral arrangements and much cheaper than buying from a flower shop. They also have so many different pumpkins and gourds for very reasonable price compared to other places in the fall.

Fresh fruit and fresh veggies provide our bodies with the VERY best nutrients and vitamins of all other food groups. Steaming not boiling veggies also preserve the highest level of vitamins. Target is a great option for super low prices but stock/ variety are VERY limited and fruits veggies are extremely limited/ manhandled a lot by customers. Flavor is lacking in potatoes yams and in a lot of Targets fruit which is picked when green. Target runs after the cheapest resource. Their quality is not great. Then CLEANLINESS is essential to me. HyVee aces this. I love the WIDE spacious aisles, the extremely high ceilings and non glaring softer lighting. Thus you have a calmer more relaxed ambiance - - rare today in grocery stores. I come EVERY week here. Their daily sales on beef chicken and pork in special cases, some seasoned thus ready to cook, are excellent FRESH QUALITY! GREAT SALE PRICES too. Their homemade giant variety of FRESH BRATS are pure heaven - - cheddar and original are my FAVORITES! Their " drug store". Cosmetics Liquor store and kitchen dining products are beautiful with a wonderful selection. GIANT selection of tiny hand held liquor bottles at $.99 each too! ENJOY!!!!!!

It seems pretty big and even on a Sunday afternoon, was not a mess - the shelves were stocked and the staff were friendly. I was only there for some vegetables, but not only was I able to find ample options for what I wanted, the general condition and inventory of their produce area was very good. Often times, produce is picked over and need of replenishing. Defs recommend. It is also right off 394 and there is plenty of parking.

Hy-Vee has a larger-than-average selection of of items in most of its departments, particularly when it comes to health (its protein powder and bar selection rivals that of many supplement stores), international foods (as good as it gets unless you're going to an international grocery store), and beauty (they've got a better selection than some pharmacies). It's a popular place, so it can be busy. This, combined with some slightly narrow aisles, can make it feel quite crowded, but it's easy to navigate, so it's still efficient. Check-out is usually pretty quick, too. Add in plenty of parking, and you get a very convenient shopping experience.

I have been shopping the grocery story & wine shop for about 15 years. I'm in the store(s) 4-5 days…read moreper week, spending roughly $500 per month between the two. I have over half a dozen friends working there, the regular staff all know my face, and I even recently interviewed for part-time work there. I do not like paying 5 cents for a plastic bag every time I swing through for a few items, so I decided to bring my own bag today. It's a messenger bag that rests on my back, no side pockets. Many customers in the store carry purses and/or reusable hand bags. All of these people have immediate access to their style of bags, whereas my messenger bag would require me to take it off my back in order to open it. As I walked by a very indiscreet undercover security member I hear a man's voice telling her via radio to keep an eye on me. I was then followed around the store for the entire visit, again very indiscreetly. I say this as someone who has worked professionally in security from bars, to retail, to IT. When I realized I forgot an item in the produce section I walked all the way back across the store, only to see a male security member come out of the back and proceed to follow me to the register. I intentionally chose a lane with a bagger, and showed him there was nothing in my bag before handing it to him. At the end of checkout the cashier asked me if I'd like to keep the 5 cents or donate it. This was new to me since I normally do self-checkout, so she explained that the 5 cents is a form of encouragement to bring my own bag. I replied to donate it, then said it was ironic considering security followed me around the entire store for wearing a bag that I was now being rewarded for bringing. She snapped at me and said "Well if you have a problem, my manager is right over there", and pointed to the self-checkout where the manager present has known me for quite some time and is always very friendly to me. Normally I decline a receipt when asked, but the cashier printed it without asking me. Seeing as I was only making an observation and not trying to escalate like the cashier was now doing, I deferred from chatting with said manager, and walked out of the store after placing my receipt into the donation box towards the Animal Humane Society like I always do. I have enjoyed the niche items that Kowalski's offers that other grocers do not, but considering these other stores sell the same common products for up to 40% cheaper, and considering the harassment by security and the poor customer service today, I will forego these niche items in favor of shopping elsewhere from this day forward.

And they can be relentless when it comes to getting butter for your bread when you sit down and eat it. No offense, but did you notice how much you're charging for bread to begin with. And the amped up amount of prices you're putting in the up scale amount you add to each retail piece on the store you should be giving away butter for free lol. It makes me uncomfortable in this store if it wasn't so convenient I would never come here. I came complained about a soup time. It was so bad. I ended up throwing it away. They didn't reimburse me nor did they ask if I wanted to try a different soup instead. Just oh well and about their business they went. Terrible customer service. I would give zero stars if it was an option!

They rent out their community room for people doing cooking classes and fitness classes. I really love how much they give back to the community. I'll have to shop more here.
