I would give this location all the STARS but, their volume level of Music is too Distracting! The music is so loud that I loose focus with my shopping experience. I also find myself yelling while shopping with my Mans N Em. I love the Music selection but, must it be sooo loud. Thank you. read more

I like where this location is but, I'm not in love with this location! It seems to get super packed which is great for them but not my anxiety if I am not in a rush, just dilly-dallying I can go there. All of the usual foods (fresh, frozen,etc) are there and now that I'm into their skincare it's helpful to not have to travel downtown. I am not sure how it can become better but something needs changing. It's accessible though, major PLUS!! read more

This Harlem location is very spacious! They had the music playing on a great speaker system. It was great to see workers singing while working and customers singing while shopping! Every item that I shopped for was in stock. The cashiers and staff were just as polite as other locations that I have been to! I would come back to this location if they always have music on. Trader Joe's in Harlem is near my friend's apartment. I'm a fan and there's so many great businesses in this neighborhood my daughter and I have discussed moving here is we leave the Upper East Side! I'm always grabbing the Trader Joe's greeting cards when I'm near a store. For $1 each they're great and have colorful creative artwork and sentiments. If you're living in this neighborhood and you don't shop here I'm surprised. It's your typical Trader Joe's excellent service. read more

New Harlem-Trader Joes. I'm not normally in Harlem but a lady on the subway informed me of it. So, today I got a chance to check it out. It's in the middle of the block adjacent to the Whole Foods. It has everything the other Trader Joe's have, i found everything I needed. I just need to get use to the lay out. It's friendly, enough, no one bothers you. Plus, there's security there as in all stores So, No Worries! I loved the entrance, so that's all the photos I have. Store is the regular set up. read more

I do like this location but I don't love that it's in the basement. You can't get any service so it makes it hard for you to use your phone that has nowadays everything from your banking apps, to your debit cards information. I mean I have to bring my actual card when I visit this location and that is the reason for four stars and not five, other than that, I love this store. It's really a different vibe than the one downtown. I don't know if it's because of the different music that is being played, or the fact that everyone from the workers to the customers all seem happy. The lines are always long but move pretty fast, the way the store is set up, with everything being on one level making it easier to find things. It's really spacious so you don't feel someone breathing down your neck or bumping into you with a shopping cart. It's just a pleasant supermarket and I'm happy that it's not all the way downtown and close enough for the local neighborhoods of Harlem or The Bronx to get to. The food prices are always good, and they have things that my regular supermarket doesn't have or may charge an arm and leg for. Thumbs up for me. Happy Yelping! read more

The store was well stocked and I was able to find everything that I wanted. However, the wait to check out was very long (10-15 minutes) and This was because there were at least 15 cash registers that weren't staffed. At 3 pm on a weekday they should have more registers staffed!! read more

I've been a Trader Joe's fan for many, many years, long before they appeared here in the East. And I have been grateful to have a TJ in my neighborhood, but lately the store is disappointing. The music is intolerably loud. I'm not particular about the kind of music they play, but does it have to be audible three blocks away? The noise is overpowering inside the store. Further, the last few times I've been there, the cashier has overcharged me, counted one too many items, for a total of a couple of dollars-ish. I never go back to protest because the process of protesting a charge in TJ is humiliating to both cashier and customer. But if they are charging even a dollar too much for even half the thousands of daily customers, then TJ is making a ridiculous amount of profit OVER what their actual profit should be. In truth, I am way more comfortable going to Whole Foods across the street. And, by the way, the myth of WF being overly expensive is just that: a myth. 365 brands are often less expensive than similar products at TJ. You just need to know how to shop. Besides that, at WF the cashiers are way more careful PLUS there is the option of a self-check-out. read more

TJ's Harlem new location is a spacious shop with wide aisles, numerous cashiers in an equally roomy checkout - perfect for when it's going to get really crowded! All your TJ's classic favorites and new favorites should be there at well-posted competitive national prices. And everyone was so friendly! This TJ's is a welcome place to shop where the bulk of our Harlem neighborhood grocery options are all lacking in one way or another. It won't break the bank like Whole Foods. Or rip-off prices like Fine Fare! And compared to Lidl on FDB... (of the many differences) TJ's has shopping carts vs. Lidl's low, floor level, wheeled plastic baskets that require you to reach down to the floor to 1) clean out someone else's litter and 2) pull out every item to give it to the cashier! A short walk for me. Look forward to making my weekly or more frequent trips! read more

Good selection there^^ but bruhhh they charged me for things i never got and charged me extra for drinks I got. I got 2 of the colombe drinks and then got scanned again the colombe drink. So i paid for 3 drinks when I got 2. Same thing happened with the A mini pumpkins too. Annoyed but next time will count how many products i got so I will double check. Just on my way home from here on day 12 of Harlem Trader Joes. Truly amazing that finally uptown Manhattan has a TJ's. Gone are the days of lugging your ass to the upper west side, Murray hill, or god forbid Union Square. The space is the standard TJ with a smidge bit of dead space for moving around. The layout on the other hand is lacking. I feel like all the other TJs have a designed path about them. The aisles and flow of the market are designed for one way traffic. This one doesn't have it down pat yet. It's very chaotic. To add to the chaotic feeling -- went on a Monday afternoon and 80% of the freezers were empty. If was hilarious to watch a bunch of the tall guys on staff in tiki shirts explaining to 4ft abuelas why things were empty. The manager was doing an amazing job repeating, "Please forgive us. We just opened." Watching people's angry expressions melt away. A couple of line mishaps and blockages. Again the manager came around and sternly but politely corrected and guided the back of line flag guy. The best part was they haven't got their cashier number paddles yet, so they've improvised with their numbers written on paper bags. The line was long but once on it-- it took around ten minutes. Not too bad considering it felt like my whole block was at the store. Cashiers were lovely as per. Of course, there is a funky little hole in my heart for Trader Joes. Do I think it's well priced enough to be your one stop shop? No. Definitely not. (Which I tripled confirmed today with a Whole foods, Food Bazaar, Lidl shop day) Is it a great place to get unusual seasonal items like, Dill pickle mustard, and strawberry crème biscuits? Yes. Totally. I'm grateful they've opened uptown and have saved me from commuting for silly grocery treats. I'm sure in a few more months all the kinks will be panned out and I'll update this to a 5/5. My only other wish is the return of the wine shop. *Gushy Sigh* Also -- if you're reading this in early August 2024. The plants are Lidl are 30% cheaper. read more

They always say, "closed mouths don't get fed" and I forgot how friendly Trader Joe's employees truly are. I went there looking for the viral soup dumplings everyone has been raving about but to my surprise (not really), they were all sold out. So, I paced around seeing if they would be restocked and nothing was stocked. I went up to an employee and asked if they had anymore and sure enough, they did in the back and they brought them out right away and gave me as many as my heart desired! On top of that, they gave me some other suggestions that they love as well (which I picked up and they were delicious so thank you!). Absolutely, amazing people and amazing products. Plenty of veggies in stock. Dairy on the left hand side. Frozen fare in the back. Cashiers up front downstairs. It really wasnt stocked up like how it should be when I went. You can tell its new. Really happy to have this new TJs in a more convenient location to my home in Washington Heights. The layout is super spacious, clean, staff has been friendly, and they seem well stocked now (not at first though). I did get spoiled ground beef from them one time, but I suspected it was bad before I even bought it and shouldn't have gotten it. All the ground beef packages were puffing out, which tells me they were stored improperly at some stage. Should have trusted my instincts. When I went today there were no insulated bags out but I wanted to safely transport chicken and frozen goods home after an impromptu visit. One of the staff was nice enough to run to the back and grabbed a box of insulated bags so I could buy one. Great service! read more

This is a new location, it is big and spacious and one of the better Trader Joe's Layouts so everything is very organized and easy to find. Staff is always helpful and friendly and they are generally fully stocked or I. The process of restocking. Lines can get pretty long depending on the days and times you shop but it always moves quickly due to the amount of cashiers they have and they play ALLLLLLLL the good jams (every genre) so you can always have a little dance party if ever you have to short wait. New food products are always displayed and I never have a problem finding anything. read more
