They have a most amazing thin crust pizza made to order, and, unlike most of what they sell, the price for a personal pie is cost effective. Not cheap, but not pricey either, running from $10-$12. I love their olive bar too, small but awesome. Their salad bowls, which you can also request made to order, are generous and a good value. The staff are kind and accommodating. A competitor, Ermina, recently opened in the neighborhood, but I prefer Amish Market - it's got far better customer service. Have never had a rude or indifferent interaction with staff here. Amish Market catered my rooftop party for 35 people on Saturday night. Everything was absolutley perfect!! It started with a great experience with Janet figuring our what and how much to order. Changes etc could be requested up until the day before so amazing flexibility. The delivery arrived right on time and the gentleman and our server, Mafsiel, set up everything and even brough hot water up to the roof in a thermous for the chafing dishes. There was even an extra side dish sent at no charge :-). Mafsiel was absolutely outstanding! F or over three hours she served, collected empty dishes from guests, set up for dessert etc.etc. She was so sweet and efficient with a great personality. She even took our group photos and brought some special serving dishes and decorations. Last but certainlly not least, the food was outstanding!! But across the street from where we stayed in Midtown, we discovered the Amish Market! It's so unassuming on the outside, so we didn't go in until our second day in town. Stopping in for a late lunch, I have been here for groceries which is a great variety, and fresh produce. I thought to myself today, why not skip a $30 poke bowl and check out the food bar. This location is a mix of a grocery store with an area downstairs for lunch-in. As I mentioned if you live in NYC and around grand central great for your grocery needs, lines are long at the bakery counters but butcher and registers move pretty quickly. That being said I came by for what I thought was a decent cheap meal. I grabbed myself a container to fill up with some hot/cold mix food bar which is 13.99 a lb., I believe. I was trying my best to do the healthy thing and skip the burgers and pizza next door to my job and thought a leisurely walk while not paying for delivery would make for a nice late lunch. A couple of the stew and chicken dishes were not visually appealing, some pieces seemed left too long on the warmer. I picked up the best looking Salmon piece I could find from the hot food and proceeded to grabbing a mix of some balsamic chicken, avocado/tomato salad, grilled vegetables and mushrooms. Yes I know i know point of a food bar or buffets in general, is go for the lightest and most expensive items but I thought it would be fine. I thought I was light on the veggies but the avocados must have done me in because 4 oz Salmon and sides came to $28. Salmon was well cooked, not overdone, moist but not dry in any parts. The vegetables were decent as well grilled right with a little bit of char on some lucky pieces. Balsamic chicken salad was not as tasty with many of the pieces being a bit dry probably due to sitting out too long, to me it shows that its not maintained to above proper standards. There must have been some issues with theft or something because there was a staff around the food tables and one at the door, cautious and understandable but for me not warm welcoming feeling to eat there and grabbed to go. Love mushrooms but all the veggies probably could have been seasoned but otherwise no complaints but nothing exciting. As I mentioned prior, a decent place for your groceries and have had pre-marinated skewers from the butcher before and never had any complaints, produce pretty fresh as well. Variety of gluten free and dairy free items around. Food bar on the other hand, probably not worth it for the price, better options in terms of food the vicinity that may be same or better quality. Would have loved to give another star but few noticeable things and leaving out any nostalgic experiences left this to be a fair rating. read more

Came here once to get groceries. I saw pretzel challah and thought I gotta have it for my chicken salad meal prep sandwiches. As I was meal prepping, to my dismay, I found mold on the bread! I was so sad more than disappointed. My bf took it back the next day for a refund. On a another note, we got pizza from their deli another time for take out. The bianca spinaca is amazing -- actual artichokes on the pizza! And not too creamy. Beats artichoke pizza from Artichoke Pizza any day. The funghi + olive paste pizza was a little too salty. Out of the 3 we had, the pesto pizza is my favorite so far. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the pizza. read more

I love this store. It's local to my job and easy to grab some food. Every employee I've encountered had been helpful and friendly. It's very clean and bright with a lot of options. I haven't done much grocery shopping here so I can't speak to the prices but it's great for a quick bites. There's sushi, pizza, a deli, a salad bar and a coffee bar as well as some pre made and packaged items and a hot food bar. Generally, I stop in for a mid afternoon coffee as it is more affordable than other local spots. read more

Cute market that is actually bigger than it seems! There are two sides and they have a lot of items it and it feels like you can get anything you need. Quality seems good and they have a large variety of specialty items as well for different dietary restrictions that for some people are more difficult to find. I have not tried their ready made food, however, I do see people eating it so I assume it is not bad. Prices are a little on the high end, however it is NYC and quality matters so its not too bad. They have been here for a long time and I think that says something as well as it's hard to survive here unless you are good! read more

This place looks small but is deceptively bigger than you think and so chock full of good stuff, they are great at maximizing their space. The prepared meals looked and smelled tasty, the olive bars, salad mixes, meat and poultry and seafood is quite impressive. I would be surprised if you don't find what you need here. We were in need of some sparkling water and some snacks. We will be back more the rest of the weekend and week we are here. It's a good one stop shop for whatever you might need. It's fun going up and down the aisles, up he ramp and all around to discover all of the edible eats in this fun cornucopia of goodness. I have been coming here for 6 years while I have lived in this neighborhood. Was a regular throughout COVID too. Unfortunately, this place has really declined on multiple fronts. Firstly, the prices are completely out of whack. I know we live in an era of high inflation, but many typical items are marked-up 20-30+% above what Whole Foods charges (and that is saying something!). You can compare it yourself but everything from produce to standard branded items - including ginger / garlic paste, cooking cream, tomato paste, onions, pastas, butter and even bottled water - are significantly higher priced than comparable stores. Secondly, the meat department here should be shut down. The beef and other red meats have large patches of grey. On a given weekend, you may find sausages that are expired. And on multiple occasions, I have bought chicken thighs or drumsticks that did not smell okay and the store managers accepted my return. At the minimum they should upgrade the refrigeration in the meat counter and chicken section because it is evidently not cool enough. For example the chicken is often moist because of the lack of refrigeration. If you regularly eat the prepared foods on the hot bar, you might want to check out the fresh meat counter. I would assume one might be the source for the other, but that is just an assumption. Personally, I would not feel comfortable. Lastly, I think the store caters to a lot of folks from an older demographic, who have been purchasing from here for several years and will likely remain loyal customers due to their familiarity with the store layout and staff, and proximity to their residence. However it is a bit amoral to just charge egregious mark-ups to neighborhood regulars. I have had multiple conversations in my building with older demographic folks who have also noticed the higher prices. The positives are that the staff here are very friendly and hardworking, and they have some hard to get ethnic foods (Bulgarian feta cheese, labneh, marinated olives, etc.). read more

The endless varieties of chips, smoked fish, honey, olive oils, meats, cakes, made-to-order chopped salads, chocolates, meals-to-go, snacks,...you name it, they've got it here & not a single person of the Amish community in sight! We had a gigunda turkey w/brie, etc. hero that was well worth the $8 price, seeing as it was enough for one & a half meals. Quick update: love this store, but wish they would use lighter-weight take-away containers. When I buy cake (they have GREAT cakes) or something at the salad bar, it's served in a very heavy gauge plastic. I recycle diligently but find myself (single guy) filling a bag a week with these containers. Really bothers me that there's not something simpler and more environmentally-agreeable. Additionally, they have a larger section and variety in comparison also. The cheese selection is overwhelming in the best possible way, lol. The hot/ cold food bar is always fresh. Oh wow The Amish Market, It's been a while since I been here, but I was surprise that when I checked into Yelp I had no review ??? Oh well better late than never, so why should you go to this market when lots of items here you can find somewhere else? Well I haven't seen any Amish here but what I have seen is a nice selection of fresh fruits and veggies. They got a bakery with beautiful cakes. Oh and I have to mention the cheese, lots of it and a big selection of cheeses. They not only have blue cheese, but a blue cheese section.  About a third of the market is set up for serving up food like pizza, and sandwiches made on the spot the way you want it, to eat in or take out. The people working here are really nice, so helpful when you ask for something. Now not everything is perfect like prices missing on some items but unless you plain to fill a shopping cart you don't have anything to worry about. read more

We were most impressed with the gourmet deli sections, and savored some 5 year aged New Zealand block sharp white cheddar cheese. We purchased a flavor sensation of hazelnut Turkish candy, wow!! Talk about dressings, sauces, and any kind of condiments you desire! Customers placed cake, sandwich, empanada, coffee/latte/cappuccino/espresso, and pastry orders at one counter. Amish Market sells lots of great prepared food and groceries. But it is more expensive than eating out or shopping at Whole Foods. (WF gets a bad rap, but more on that in another review). AM has prepared salad bar, olives, pickles and the like sold by the pound. It can get expensive for heavy things that would be otherwise cheap. I would recommend coming here to pick up lunch to go but not to grocery shop. A wrap and a drink will run you about $12. read more

This is the closest grocery store to me. Is it the best? No. Is it the worst? Definitely not. Does it have most of the items I need? Yes. Selection can be a little limited in my opinion. But I have to say... I am OBSESSED with their Salmon. The pre made grab-and-go baked salmon w/ asparagus... DEVINE. The salmon, brown rice and broccoli...oh so good. Also, their chopped/tossed salad bar also offers Salmon as a protein choice. Reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars: - Butcher can be a litttttttle mean and impatient sometimes. - Limited selection - Some items can be pricey. Your average pricey grocer, with a few hidden price treasures. Avocados come in bags of 4 only, for $5. They have fresh ginger for about $1 per big piece. The raw meat in the lower section of the store (hidden behind the hot food trays) was abismal - had only 3 packs of chicken breast for $12/lb and the red meat looked old. Cheeses and olives seemed like great prices for good quality stuff. During weekday lunch, the hot food and salad bar were packed. Checkout in the lower section of the store is painless and quick. At the higher floor, I got stuck in line for the cashier because it lines up adjacent to the build your own salad line. Once I figured out I was standing in the wrong line *not the only person who did this lol* I was out in no time. I do wish they'd offer a rewards program, a phone number for points or specials, anything! They do not accept coupons. I did find a dozen cage-free medium eggs for $3, though. read more

Solid neighborhood market but the prices have been creeping up so high. I was about to checkout on a Whole Foods delivery and then I thought I would do better to go here. So I had the WF prices and total in my head. Some of them items were literally double the price from WF. All of them were more expensive. The quality of the products seemed great, and made shopping as a tourist who likes to snack, convenient. I liked the variety. Lots of already cut up fruit and cheeses, not to mention that bangin' $8.99/lb. olive bar. The selection is good, but I have to say that a lot of the olive varieties were reeeeally salty. Found that out after we purchased them. This kind of reminds me a little of Baron's market back in San Diego, except a little pricier. I liked that they had cut up coconut chunks (don't see that too often). Their hot/cold food bar was really extensive, with quite a few options. Since a lot of the food has been sitting out, or dried out a little, it's 50% off after 630pm. I would probably just stir the bottom up, of the selections.
