I love this Trader Joe's so much. There is always plenty of parking. The staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about all their products and where they are located. They almost always have plenty of registers open to make checking out a breeze. Their products are always just great. I almost live on their Raw Argentinian Red Shrimp. Their fresh produce is usually very good. My only disappointment is their green onions which come in a plastic bag. They are pretty tired, beat up and lack flavor. Their cheese selection is incredible. The Trader Joe's Triple Creme Brie is just amazing and rivals other Brie's that are double or triple the price. They offer a nice selection of breads, buns, muffins and various desserts. I love the minerals, supplements and dog treats they offer as well. Their plants and fresh flowers are always fresh, beautiful and they have everything you need to create a beautiful arrangement. read more

Not sure what's going on with Trader Joe's and the rapidly decreasing quality and safety of their foods but in the past 2 years exactly we have had several bad experiences- from a blue chunk of plastic in frozen potatoes, to tiny pieces of glass in the fried rice to a sugar-coated string in the Frosted Flakes to, most importantly, bad chicken salad that made all of the members of my family that ate it, very ill and sausage that I discovered was WAY past the expiration date when I got home, opened it and it smelled like sulfur. I immediately went back and they had to pull almost the entire stock because it had been stocked from the front. I only thought to photograph a couple of the incidences. What was once a weekly or even twice-weekly shopping trip has turned into a once a month stop just for the coffee my spouse likes. Sadly, the same rapid decrease in quality is happening with their sister- company, Aldi. :( read more

I love the layout of this store due to the spaced out entry where the flow isn't choked right away. The employees at most TJ locations are friendly but this particular location is hands down so sweet. What I love about this Trader Joe's in particular is how integrated they are with the community. Today they had parents/teacher with their special needs students exploring learning and checking out the market. It felt welcoming and safe. At the check out counter the display of over a dozen art pieces by the local 1st grade class always gets me so giddy. So cute and the students are extremely talented! I've lived near this Trader Joe's for over eight years, and I honestly love this store. My friends joke that it's my second home because I'm here so often. My coworkers automatically assume that any food I bring to the office, or even the ingredients I use for cooking is from Trader Joe's, and the funny part is... they're usually right. I've even earned the nickname "TJ ambassador." The biggest reason I keep coming back, though, is the staff. Everyone is genuinely friendly and helpful, which makes shopping here such a pleasant experience. The store is always well organized, it's easy to find what I need, and I can never resist stopping for the free samples. We were at Breakfast Republic having a late breakfast. When we were done, we noticed a Trader Joe's nearby. Woo Hoo!!! We decided to see if we could find something different. Every city seems to stock the basic layout, but sometimes the department buyer will pick up something our local store doesn't have. Trader Joe's sells all your essential grocery needs with a little twist. They have produce, meats, dairy, frozen foods, sodas, various nuts, cereals, fruits, chips, supplements, bakery, and much more! We love all of the Trader Joe's foodie finds. It is always so blissful to visit Trader Joe's. I discovered this location only recently, thanks to Yelp. The parking was a breeze. As soon as we walked into the store, we were surprised by how clean the store was. The produce was so fresh that we bought a lot of variety. The employees are so sweet. I was running in circles, trying to find high quality handmade bronze cut pasta and they were able to help me locate it. The price of the pasta was reasonable as well. I was also looking for fresh cheese and they had a wide variety. I was so happy with the overall quality of all the items we purchased. They also had a nice range of plants and flowers, all reasonably priced. This location is close to me and I'll definitely be going in more often. Highly recommend Trader Joe's! It's good quality at a great price! This specific location has extra friendly employees, but not the best parking situation. Trader Joe's has always been my go-to when I want beautiful fresh flowers, especially orchids! Aside from flowers, I also love coming here when I want to make a charcuterie board. They have so many varieties of cheeses, meats, dried fruits, nuts, crackers, spreads, and fresh fruits. A new year means a new Trader Joes review because if you know me you know I LOVE Trader Joes! This store really does have it all and is very spacious so it isn't as overwhelming as other locations. I always have employees coming up offering to help me out here as well which is super nice but half of the time I am just taking my time looking at every single item they have because I love seeing every new thing they have come in. Don't miss out on the new items area where they display all of the new items which makes it slightly easier compared to looking down every aisle for them. Love Trader Joe's employees, produce, merchandise, everything. I usually only stop to pick up some essentials (love their seasonings and frozen goods to keep in the house) but somehow I always end up saying "oh that looks good" and walking out with a few full bags of goodies. I especially love their selection of cheeses and their premade summer salads (the orzo pasta salad and the lemon pasta salad are really good and only $5/each). They have such a wide variety of foods it is nice to be able to grab something new each visit. My favorite time is usually the holidays when all the fun Fall and Winter goodies come out. Trader Joe's is a great place to pick up good quality, good for you items that are different and easy to make (especially when life gets away from you sometimes). I've been looking for them and had almost given up! They have a limit of four per person, so I ended up getting two of each. They are perfect for a lunch bag or as a gift! More than one place to return carts and the parking spaces are wide, so those male up the additional star. Shopping in San Diego, California... Somehow, I always can find something for someone at Trader Joe's! Anything here is the perfect gift for a Hawaii resident because there's no Trader Joe's in Hawaii... And probably never will be because of the cost of shipping. That's why the friendly cashier asked me if I was bringing things home. Haha! I guess when you buy a large quantity of something, it can't be all for yourself... Or could it? Each Trader Joe's is about the same in every city that I've visited. From Virginia Beach to Pasadena and Las Vegas, I look for favorites and new items. My favorites are the greeting cards. The new items were the ube cookies and mochi cake mix in Virginia Beach. At this location in San Diego, there were no ube items nor mochi crunch. I did find some arare popcorn - I hope to surprise my friends and family with it! Hope they're not reading... LOL! Anyway, I probably will go to another Trader Joe's in Los Angeles later this week. I don't visit Trader Joe's as often as I should! Their selection of fresh produce and frozen ready meals are always well stocked. Their snack section is always well stocked as well! Whenever I visit, I ALWAYS have to get the crunchy curls and the freeze dried bananas. Those are definitely my go-to snacks! The employees are always so cheerful and ready to lend help whenever I'm looking for a product I can't find! The only downside to this Trader Joe's establishment is the parking. Since this location is located in a complex with restaurants and other stores, the parking can be hard to come by. read more

I love this Trader Joe's location. Large parking lot shared with other businesses but they've put timed labels on some now due to the breakfast republic opening nearby so it hasn't been too bad. They offer stickers at the registers for kids and coloring pages to enter into their monthly contest. Staff is always super nice and friendly both cashiers and regular employees. I love the atmosphere here, so much better than a regular grocery store. Prices are a little higher than other places. The only cons are the fruit/bread/salads expire within 1 or 2 days after purchase. That's the only issue I've had with items purchased here. I love the ever changing seasonal items! We are long time customers of TJ's, both in San Diego and elsewhere. We shop at a number of grocery stores and have special items we look for at them all. We usual go to the location on Carmel Mountain Road in Rancho Bernardo, but also have used the one on Center City Pkwy. in Escondido and the one at the Highlands center off the 56. We find their vegetables of all types to be fresh, well packaged and priced right. Some of the frozen foods are perfect for our household of two. Cheese selection is great, and canned goods are very well priced. We also like their pastas, particularly the raviolis. Some things are hit and miss, like Taiwanese pancakes...some stores have them, others don't. Once in a while they have Kringle, shipped from Wisconsin. If you see them, try for yourself. They are dangerously yummo. The only problem with TJ's, and this is true at all of them, is parking. It can be a challenge, but we choose to be patient and wait our turn. Staff could not be friendlier, always chatty and pleasant, willing to help if you can't find something. read more

So sad to have such a low score.... But, Trader Joe's has turned into something else than it used to be when it first opened in the Bay Area, Vegas and now San Diego. I am sad that another is opening in Poway to take business away from sprout's. You cannot find Organic fruit other than blueberries, or organic vegetables there than Roman lettuce and smaller tomatoes - loads of other vegetables and fruits, just a hand full or organic. Today we went to the frozen section, they changed it and not much in frozen vegetables at all. Love the staff - always will to stop and take you to something, if they haven't stopped production on your favorite thing. Also really great register and bagging people. And instead of find the money, it's find the octopus. My kid went off to university now and not shopping there because of memories. So, goodbye Trader Joe's. Was in the area and decided to check out Trader Joe's. I didn't have much time so I was unable to buy actual groceries. Upon walking in, the store was very clean. It seemed smaller than expected because usually I don't shop at Trader Joe's; but maybe it's the location. I decided to grab a few snacks such as the Salami and Provolone Cheese pack, a honeycrisp apple, and almonds and cashews. Staff was very welcoming and the checkout was quick. The apple was very refreshing and crisp; while the Everything but the Bagel flavored almonds and cashews had a nice taste. I would define return if I'm in the area again to try more food items and maybe shop for groceries. read more

In conversation with a Truly Wonderful, Charismatic and Wowmazing customer service from cashier Jermaine D. He kindly asks what I do for work- honestly my worst ask because it can be taken two ways, negatively or with a sense of compassion.
