I was just about to give this place three stars for the fact that everyone is running around like cockroaches in the light in the crazy busy inside, but since a previous reviewer stated that they were moving down the street, I decided to give them the star I was deducting for location back. Trader Joes is everything you could want in a grocery store. The staff is generally helpful and the samples are always to die for. Minus a star for the fact that at any given time there are at least six people crammed into every aisle and there are people traveling in the store in the wrong direction making your chances of bumping into someone extremely high. Bananas are cheap cheap cheap here! The cheese is great, the granola is great, and if you're in need of a new shampoo or conditioner, the Trader Joes brand Tea Tree Oil shampoo and condition is wonderful! When you first come in, make sure you head down the produce aisle and pick up a jar of cookie butter before you do anything else. My personal favorite is the crunchy. Love Trader Joes! read more

I wish there were more trader Joe locations. The staff is always super friendly and if they see a line are prompt to open another register. I love their international selections and their prices are impressive. I would call it a cheaper whole foods. There's always at least one or two items to sample. Also a great place to get greeting cards, each only 99 cents! Some of which are actually funny. I don't mind admitting that I am a member of the Trader Joe's cult. I absolutely love their unique and tasty foods, friendly, helpful staff, and charmingly kitschy island vibe. I am impressed that this small branch carries a lot of great products while still being orderly and uncluttered. I can tell that a lot of Clevelanders love this chain too, because this store gets swamped. Weekends are a no-go: carts flying everywhere, people running into each other, barely any space to move. Even if you stop in on a weekday in the middle of the day, the store feels full. This branch is really small, and its awkward, cramped layout contributes to the claustrophobic feeling. I think that with some sort of re-organization of the shelves and display, there could be a lot more open space to move around. read more

I enjoy grocery shopping more than anyone should. I look forward to it every week. For me its relaxing and enjoyable and my favorite part is shopping at Trader Joe's. I have SO much love for Trader Joe's. Seriously, who doesn't like great quality groceries at amazing prices? I shop here about once a week and can get 95% of my groceries here because they have everything. They have a great selection of organic produce, canned goods and specialty items. Also, their plantain chips? THE BOMB. My boyfriend and I usually open up a bag and snack while we shop, they're addicting. They have a great beer and wine selection and you can usually sample some wines for ten cents! and the prices? So cheap! Everything is super reasonable and much cheaper then shopping at other stores. I know some people can't stand TJ's because it gets really crowded, especially on the weekends. Sometimes its a madhouse.I try to go at night during the week, but if I go during the weekend I just prepare myself for the crowd and its usually not so bad. It really helps is you make a grocery list and stay organized, so you're not wandering up and down aisles trying to find things. The only negative thing I can say is that they do run out of things, which can be annoying. They've been out of coconut sugar, chia seeds, organic black beans and sweet potatoes....all pretty common grocery items. It's not a big deal, but it sucks that I have to go pay more for those items elsewhere when I know I could have gotten them for cheaper if TJ's had them in stock! But really, that's a miniscule complaint. TJ's makes grocery shopping a great experience. They have awesome products at really reasonable prices and I love shopping there. read more

If you are a trader joe's fan then this place won't disappoint. The produce is so fresh and the prices are the best for organic options. The organic milk is $6.19 a gallon. I don't think you can find it for less anywhere else. Thank goodness there are more parking spaces in this new location. The only reason to not make it 5 stars is that they did not bring in new items for the larger store. I wish they had a butcher in house. read more

I ventured here on a Sunday so I expected it to be crowded. While the store does look huge on the outside, it doesn't really feel that spacious inside. Everything I was looking for was in stock although some of the salad greens didn't look the freshest. The lines were long but every register was open and I only waited about 10 minutes total before I was out of the door. Not too shabby. Although I didn't have any, wine samples were available for 10 cents each. I'm sure that could come in handy around the holidays. read more

The Trader Joe's line of products consistently exceed my expectations. this store is a great example of how eating healthy doesn't have to cost a fortune. Whether it be the select cuts of meat, the fresh fruits and veggies or seafood, they've got you covered. And for those of us who have been known to enjoy an adult beverage or two the store brand beer and wine is just as delicious as some more well known brands. Don't get me wrong I love a lot of food from here. But there are three main problems that I face every single time I go. 1) The minute that I walk in it's a mad house, it's like I'm shopping on Black Friday. Not to mention that you can't get around people in the isles. 2) THE PEOPLE!! And I'm not talking about the cashiers because most of them are nice... well most of them. The people that I find and/or interact with at Trader Joe's are crazy! They'll cut you off, take something you're reaching for or even worse steal something from out of your cart! 3) I'm not a huge fan of there new location. This is Trader Joe's. If you have been to one, you know what it is like. :) I liked this layout because all the cold items were on the periphery of the store unlike the location at Crocker Park where I think people end up ganging up on each other between the produce, dairy, meat, prepared foods, etc. This place was CRAZY BUSY at 3:30pm on a Friday afternoon....very reminiscent of my Chicago Trader Joe's days. Honestly, I was a little uncomfortable with the amount of people in this tiny store. Also reminiscent of the Chicago TJ's were the kids pushing little people carts & the parent's completely unaware of where the kid was in the isle or who they were blocking. Aside from all that, I found "mostly" what I needed and what I didn't find a typically perky TJ's employee told me with a nice smile. I think the wine section here seems better than the Crocker Park locale too. As much as I don't like the crowds at TJ's I do generally like the people they hire and that they put so much emphasis as a company on helping to make the shopper's experience good. Will I stop here again? Probably. Will I get in & out quick to avoid the crowds? Yep. Will I try to go at odd times to avoid the stupid parking lot? Aside from being the only non-bearded guy in the store, which felt awkward, I had a great time at this unique and quirky grocery outlet designed to look like a maritime trading outpost. I love the nautical theme and aisle after aisle of hard-to-find international fare and European wine. I bought things like Miso broth, which I use as a base or sauce for the pan-seared Salmon I make at home. The baked goods and chocolate cake are awesome. There's good eats here. I'm an out of towner who had never been to a Trader Joe's but have always heard the accolades everyone has had about this place. I decided to check it out when I had some time on my hands. I was impressed at the quality and freshness of the products I came across. There was quite a large variety of things you normally don't find at your run of the mill grocery stores. In addition, their ethnic sections were quite varied in stock. The staff was very attentive and made sure on multiple occasions that I was finding what I was looking for and had no concerns finding anything. This was not my usual Trader Joe's, so naturally I was a bit discombobulated, but it still never fails to fill me with joy. I loaded up on frozen meals because they are so damn good, and I simply refuse to bother with Lean Cuisine or some other equally inferior brand. I also went after work, and had no issues with long lines or parking. Other than the food, I simply love their line of hand soaps. This Trader Joe's seems smaller than the Crocker Park version, but it's equally nice. Same beautiful flower selection, same gorgeous produce (lots are pre cleaned/pre chopped for snacking!), same great selection of unique items. Just like the other store, I love to browse here. I'm very inclined to try new stuff, because the ambiance (can a grocery store have ambiance?) is awesome. The staff is friendly, the packaging is fun, my God... I need an intervention! Oh yeah... try their pumpkin biscotti. Let's just say...mine was gone in 2 days. Sigh. The ONLY reason I don't rate higher for these stores... (and this is selfish)... they aren't closer to my house. Trader Joes is an absolute must-try grocery chain that is expanding in the Cleveland market. Unlike your typical grocery store, Trader Joes focuses on carrying a smaller selection of highly popular, high volume items, which allows them to keep prices low, product fresh, and store footprints small. They have a great selection of specialty/health conscious foods at very reasonable prices. Every visit I've made to this location, along with the location in Crocker Park, has been eye opening as to how popular TJ is becoming. I'd recommend using a basket, which can help with navigating the inevitable crowd. read more

Trader Joe's is one of my favorite places to shop for food. Lots of options especially for health food nuts like me. I swear there's something for everyone here. Grassfed burgers, organic this, organic that. They have the best chili lime sauce ever here, too. I usually go here just for that sometimes. It's in a nice location too with lots of other shops next door. My family is actually in anthropologie right now. And one is in The North Face. Great stuff here My only complaint about Trader Joes (which is an all around complaint about every Trader Joes) is their prices. If you're on a tight budget, as much as I like this place, you want want to reserve shopping here for just specific items like I do. I don't do heavy shopping here. Just onsies and twosies here and there. This place can make someone do broke with chicken breasts at 8.99/lb. But for select things, this is your place ! read more

I believe this is the only grocery store that still acts like a grocery store. No self serve checkouts. The employees are all (for the most part - there is always a bad apple or two in any orchard) helpful, friendly and nice. If you cannot find something on the shelf they will go into the back and actually look to see if they have anymore in stock, unlike Aldi's who when you ask will lie to you and say nope sorry we don't have any stock in the back. I am not sure what's happened to customer service and why most businesses these days act like they're doing you a favor when you give them your business instead of the other way around. Trader Joe's is everything you remember from thirty years ago when it was still about the customer and not only about a businesses' bottom line. Also the Trader Joe's brand is always top notch and this idea that Trader Joe's is expensive like for instance Whole Foods is completely false. In fact for the quality of Trader Joe's products they beat the prices of Giant Eagle and even Marc's (now that Marc's has started taking all credit cards and their prices have gone way up). Starr (I believe it's with two r's) was our cashier this past Saturday and she was a complete delight. The cashiers know how to be friendly and still be fast which is a lost art in these days of customer depreciation. Oh and they don't only have two registers open like every other grocery store these days no matter how busy they may be. read more

I only have three cons: it is often crowded, shelves are not stocked, and I hate parking here. I alleviate this by shopping before 5pm and not on Sundays. I ask for things that aren't on the shelves (75% of the time, they can get it for me). I can't divulge my parking secrets. I like TJ's concept: a small foot print of a store offering good stuff at great prices. I like that you can feel free to try out stuff here. If you don't like it, they give you your money back. How do you like that? I just learned that the other day when taking about TJ beer with a staff member. Service is always awesome and knowledgable. Prices generally cannot be beat. My personal favs: ladyfingers, wasabi seaweed crisps, rosemary raisin crackers (with their goat cheese), eggs (they are always fresh with orange yolks), chocolate covered pretzels, butternut squash raviolis, salsas, sparkling water, Greek yogurt. This list could go for awhile. They also have cheap avocados, papaya, and KerryGold butter. But again, just try stuff and see what you like. My fair warning to you is some stuff is seasonal. You might be addicted, but have to wait a whole year to stock up again. read more

Quirky, super nice, helpful employees. I would say 99% of Trader Joe's food is awesome. I have only found 2 items to be sub-par: the frozen crab cakes and the cooked grilled, marinated chicken strips. The crab cakes are very fishy, and the grilled chicken strips were slimy and tasted off. Everything else is great. The prices here cannot be beat...and that includes a few crossover items you will find at a Giant Eagle or Heinen's like Kerrygold butter. I recently tried the grass-fed buffalo milk butter and it was really good. They are always keeping it fresh in there, changing displays. You don't just shop there...you DISCOVER cool stuff there. read more

I don't like this location. The workers aren't too friendly and OMGSH they don't offer organic fruits! I stopped there for apples, pears etc and they had NOTHING! The store is clean and they had a nice selection of flowers but that's not enough to keep me coming back. I will continue shopping at the one in Westlake, those are my peeps! read more

I went to Trader Joe's for the first time last Friday and I had a wonderful experience! The workers there are so nice and truly helped me around the place. I enjoyed the list they have available for dietary needs such as vegan! The list was very helpful! Also the way the labeled everything was truly helpful! Since it was my first time there they provide me with a free Trader Joe's reusable bag- which I already used to return some library books. While I was checking out the cashier also informed me of some products I should try my next visit and how the manager at the store has been vegan for years! I have been to this TJ location several times before my experience yesterday and have always been please by the polite staff and quality selection of affordable vegan/vegetarian foods! Yesterday was NOT a good day for me (nothing to do with TJ...stay with me on this one!). An appointment took 5 hours and cost more than $250, a day off unexpectedly wasted and a handful of other frustrating developments. So, when the cashier (I am pretty sure his name is George) asked me about my day I blurted out "pretty terrible, but that's certainly not your fault". I tried to joke it off, but he apologized and sincerely told me he hopes my day gets better. After I pay and bag my items, he hands me a bouquet of flowers! He had apparently asked another associate to grab them when I wasn't paying attention. He handed them to me and said "I hope these improve your day". That simple gesture really did make my day better. Instead of the tears of frustration that I shed earlier, I shed happy-tears. In a day as frustrating and exhausting as mine was yesterday it was such a wonderful and warm action from this true gentleman. Thank-you George: you helped make a sad lady happy and restored my faith in humanity when that faith was at a dark point. read more

Trader Joe's is an insane asylum. The aisles make up the labyrinth that somehow still passes as a grocery store. The whole place is crooked. There are shopping cart crashes frequently. There are fruit fights every time I'm here. If I get a little crazy and want to head this direction, I'll come here, but since it's not close, I don't often get the opportunity, which is for the best. It's always way too crowded (I know it's been 4 years since Scott G. reviewed, but nothing has changed--the rude soccer moms are abundant) and sometimes the frying it does to my nerves is just not worth the great prices for weird stuff. There are some products, though, that keep me coming back. The selection of unique items is the fun of the this place, so I always make a huge list that I can work from and stock up on everything I need all at once. The foods here seem to be geared toward people that are into more healthful choices, organic foods, or simply better options than the cookie cutter Giant Eagle layout. read more

Trader Joe's is a great, unique grocery store. The location in Woodmere is one of two locations in Greater Cleveland; the other in Westlake. This one is smaller than the one in Westlake and I imagine most other locations. The food they offer here is great. Most of it is their own store brand, which in many cases isn't that good, but here, they pull if off nicely. You can get some great dinners from their frozen food selection. They also offer plenty of other things, such as produce, wine, cheese, health foods, and various other food products. I've never had a problem with the people who work there. Overall, if you want a different, unique food experience, stop in a Trader Joe's for a new experience in grocery shopping. read more

I absolutely love Trader Joe's, it's my grocery store of choice, and I would gladly shop here weekly if I had one closer. I love the variety of grocery items they have without being overwhelmed by aisles and aisles of stuff. I also love the service, both the floor workers and the cashier workers are friendly and helpful above and beyond what is necessary. All that being said, I absolutely hate how crowded all Trader Joe's seem to be. Even though this place has now moved to a new, improved, bigger location, it still felt swarmed on a Monday afternoon. I can only chalk it up to the layout of their stores and the tiny aisles. I know this is part of their business model, but I can't help but wish there was just a bit more elbow room while doing my grocery shopping. Gotta love Trader Joes! This is the new location and I know people who drive from far away to come here. Everyone is super helpful and I have ordered my favorite wine here by the case because it always sells out as soon as it comes in. I had the wine at a restaurant that charges $15 a glass and it is here for $11 a bottle!! This location is bright and always so clean. read more
