Sometimes good but many times not enough cashiers are working. I usually pay cash so I do not go to the self-checkouts, which are an abomination to begin with. People should get a discount for using a self-checkout. Just now and at other times I have gone in there to buy a gift card with cash and I left without purchasing it once I saw that the one checkout line that was open would take me forever to get through at the glacial pace it was moving with many people in it. Meanwhile the four self-checkouts were completely open because everyone else hates them too. I don't put cash in a machine. There's no proof that I put it in except for maybe some surveillance footage that may or may not be in use. And don't even think about going in any store right after work especially on a Friday because it will take forever to get through the lines even though there are multiple cashiers working. We stopped in to see if there were some fun snacks to grab while we were staying at the hotel next door in Legacy Village. I remembered that they had a pretty good bakery section and when I was younger we used to pick up slices of Cheesecake Factory desserts here along with candy. We probably spent twenty minutes looking around and were surprised by some of the regional items we found. The grocery store was also clean and well stocked and we were able to navigate it easily and find the sections we were looking for. read more

Very nice store. The layout is similar to other Giant Eagles, but it seems larger than most. Flowers, produce and prepared cold and hot foods are where you walk in. Other items are in the aisles throughout the store. Pharmacy is way down on the right where the restrooms are. Checkout lady was nice. Only paper bags were available, so bringing in your own bags is encouraged. read more

This is my favorite grocery store in the area. Much much better than the one on mayfield south Euclid their pharmacist pharmacy in general is a mess but this Giant Eagle at Legacy Village always has the prescriptions ready when they say I get a text message and come and it is actually ready where at south Euclid there was a 60% chance even after text they would say to come back tomorrow after 2. This grocery store has massive selection and it is well managed and has friendly staff and they don't have long lines but having just a good grocery part means nothing if your pharmacy is a mess and theirs is well organized. My only complaint is once a tech told me she didn't like to serve people on motorcycles in the drive thru and next time come inside. It seemed odd to me most especially bc they have an overhead overhang that protects so it really shouldn't matter but overall a great spot. To me Cleveland in general as bad service so to be good in this city is like being great in other city's . The ambiance is also nice it is modern and clean and the lighting isn't super bright and fluorescent their ceiling is a dark color which helps with the upscale Whole Foods vibe. My daughter ordered 48 pieces of prepared chicken for a party and asked me to pick up. Went to the prepared food counter. They checked under the name. Said they didn't have it and her mother in law's name picked it up and hour ago. Drove all the way to my daughter's house after texting her. She called Giant Eagle. They had the order. What the fuss?!?!?! We drove all the way back to the store. They really failed today. We will be 45 minutes late to our grandson's birthday party with food to be served. read more

I stopped in this morning for just a few things. Silk almond creamer in vanilla flavor is worth the trip but sadly is not always available. Ty was stocking the creamer section so I asked him if there might be more in back. He stopped what he was doing to go check. There wasn't any but he checked to see when a shipment would come in. The guy running the register messed up the order in front of me and then mine and didn't even try to fix it. Just sent us off to customer service. He probably wouldn't have screwed up if he wasn't constantly checking the clock for how much time he had left in his shift and muttering under his breath. You had 15 minutes left in your shift, bro. Don't quit before you cross the finish line. Btw - his f*** up caused my card to be overdrawn so it wasn't just a small f*** up. Super annoyed. Avoid the "gamer" type looking cashier at this location for your own sake. This used to be a great store with good selection and great variety. Then COVID hit and the store has been hit or miss. Yesterday, the produce section was pretty slim, and the shelves were empty. The green bell peppers were soft and wrinkly, no head lettuce, no cucumbers, inedible tomatoes. But the grocery section, deli section were fine. This is a store in a good area, but corporate ignores it's short comings. But if we want a really good Giant Eagle, we have to travel to Solon's market district. But this store is uneven. I am giving this location 4 stars because it is always very clean, organized, and easy to find what you are looking for. One of the nicest locations on the east side. They also have a Starbucks inside. In the big picture, if you are looking for overall value, this is not the best grocery chain for your buck. Like most, they do offer weekly specials which can be great and their own gas stations which save you .10 per gallon for every $50 you spend at the grocery store. If you prefer to do all of your grocery shopping here, the gas savings can be a nice perk. This location also offers a full deli, prepared foods section, eat in cafe area, bakery, liquor store, and florist. They also updated their beer/wine area recently which is much more organized with everything in one place. read more

This Giant Eagle location seems to be doing a great job of taking precautions in the store that were impressive. Walking in they were cleaning carts for people and they have one door to enter/one to exit. While we were there we heard an overhead announcement that announced a reminder about social distancing, masks, and limiting number of shoppers. That same message also reminded staff to hand sanitize and wipe down areas. Something so simple had such big impact on shoppers and employers. Nice to see employees wiping down handles on doors in frozen foods and other areas. They deserve to be noticed for their efforts. read more

The way this location has adapted to the COVID climate is remarkable. They are still diligently disinfecting carts as they come in and making sure patrons only get clean ones. The floor markings and one way directional aisles are a great effort. I've been in a few times when the siren sounds and a message plays from the speakers announcing to all cashiers that it is time to disinfect their area. They go all out as well and leave no stone unturned. Makes me feel safe and like they care. They even have self scanners now for a scan as you shop contactless experience. Recently I tried out the curbside pickup service and it is stellar. I never pegged myself a curbside shopper and imagined horror stories from letting someone shop for me. I couldn't have been more wrong. Your personal shopper also texts you as they shop in case there are any last minute additions or substitutions necessary. Bravo to this location and all of their efforts! read more

about the only thing good about the giant eagle in Legacy Village is the state liquor store. Also, the bulk of the cashiers are sweet people and they have some nice people working the aisles like the lady who collects for curbside pick up. Their prices are all too high on everything and their produce department really stinks. Half the time they don't even have prices marked on things and you have to walk a half a mile to get a plastic bag for your grapes. They have a monopoly of some kind in this area on grocery stores, and I think it's very sad. I came back to Ohio from California where they have a lot of competition. read more

Terrible curbside service. I put in a curbside order to be picked today. The first red flag was my shopper never sent any messages that they were going to pick my order. I got the notification they give as a reminder that your order will be ready. Key word will. When I go there I was told that my order was not picked. I asked to speak to someone to resolve the issue and she never called me. If your customer chooses a service to save them time on shopping, maybe make sure that customer gets their order. Love this Giant Eagle, hands down better than any other stores in the area. I've never had any issues here and the staff is more than accommodating regardless how busy they might be. Only downside, if there was one, they recently began renovating and lots of traversing around while they replace pretty much everything. By the looks of it, I'm guessing they are upgrading into what looks like one of those Market District stores like they have in Solon? Looking forward when it's done and see how beautiful this supermarket turns out. They have a Starbucks when you walk in, which is a huge plus for anyone that loves coffee. BUYER BEWARE: This store fraudulently lists incorrect per pound prices on some meat products and refuses to honor the clearly listed prices when asked. Specifically they list a specific price per pound on the sticker but calculate the total cost with a higher price per pound. This is easy to catch if you have decent arithmetic skills, but could easily dupe a rushed or less math-savvy shopper. Note that this is not an issue of needing an Advantage Card to get the listed price, as the error is with the math on the price sticker itself. read more

Got a call that the majority of my order was not available. Did I still want the rest of the order. My order was placed A day and a half ago. There was three hours between the order was being filled until it was complete and ready for pick up. I attempted an online curbside pick up today. It was my second time. The first time went fine. Now they have a new website. What a nightmare. Duplications. Lots of excuses from staff. Curbside rep hung up on me. Customer service wouldn't cancel the order, instead sending me back to a curbside member. No guarantees of any accuracy with the order. The store itself is okay, but the Curbside Express is a mess. In general, they do a good job, but their App is very basic and can't do many things. For example, if I add a few things with the app and then go online, the online account does not see the App items (and vice versa). One thing I really dislike is that if they substitute something, they don't have to math the price they quoted you when you ordered something. For example, lets say you ordered 16 hamburger buns (1 pack) but lets say they only have 8 count packs in stock. They will substitute to two 8 count packs which sounds okay, except the two 8 count packs cost more. At the other major retailer in town who has curbside pickup, they will give this to you at the original lower price (never higher). In fact, a few times, we got more of a product (36 oz of something vs 24 oz) at the original products price since they said they had it when I placed the order, but were out in the store when they picked it. I might try this again in a few years, but it seems they are left in the dust by the major competitor in the area for now. read more

OK, So your doing some grocery shopping and you get a sushi craving. Grocery store sushi? That is usually crap, hard rice sitting overnight, bland. Wait, this looks good. I will try some tuna and salmon rolls. Holly crap this is better that sushi rock. No shi*. So now when I want sushi take out I call the store and ask to speak to the sushi guy.( I won't mention his name.) I only get the raw stuff. The spicy sauce is one of the best, and as far as I can tell there is no mayo in it! I will even split a platter with my dad. So 5 stars as this is the best grocery store sushi in Cleveland and better than a few Japanese restaurants. And the sushi guy is very accommodating. read more

Let me just say this might be the fanciest Bird I've ever been to! Le sigh....I just wish this Bird was closer to my home instead of the crappy one by my house. I happened upon this GE one day for lunch when the water was off at my place of work. (i.e. things were getting really gross up in there and I needed to escape!). Who knew the Bird would have such a fancy-pants ready-to-eat section all with a nice seating area so you can enjoy your food purchase right there and then! I purchased some delicious brown-rice-sushi! YUM! The employees I interacted with on this visit were very nice. I even visited the restrooms (something I don't normally do at a grocery store but if you read the above you'll understand why I did on this occasion.) and they were clean and tidy! I'd probably shop the bird more frequently if mine was nicer like this one. So, if you live / work in this neighborhood, I'd recommend you shop this place! Its sooo nice! read more

This is a large store with many food options -- including prepared foods. That being said, I would like to focus on this store's excellent alcohol options. 1. Wine! The wine section is huge, broken into regional subsections. There is even a miniature chilled walk-in champagne room. 2. Beer! As expected, you can find almost every mainstream brewery beer at The Eagle. More surprisingly, however, is this store's vast collection of specialty local, national, and international ales and lagers. The huge walk-in "beer room" is great. 3. Hard stuff! Just arrived home from out of town and logged on to test out Giant Eagle Curbside express. I had a busy few days ahead and was in serious need of groceries to get me through the week. I carefully selected items, some from the weekly ad and other basics. I selected my pickup time and arrived at the store with my toddler and newborn ready to pop the trunk and head home. Instead, I was told that my order wasn't there and that i should try to call tomorrow. Hmmm... if tomorrow was what i wanted, I would've selected that option on the site. I repeated my order number from my confirmation email and still nothing. So I asked to speak to a manager. The attendant placed me on hold briefly then hung up on me. I was forced to come into the store. I asked to speak with a manager and was introduced to Shaun. He listened and apologized, which i certainly appreciated. It was just a terrible intro to the curbside express experience and I wasted my time placing an online order only to have to come inside with 2 young babies unexpectedly. read more

The store is quite large, and they tend to have a variety of brands available for each type of product. I also love that they have a selection of organic, speciality, and ethnic products. Giant Eagle is a supermarket company based out of the Pittsburgh Area. This is by far the nicest Giant Eagle I have ever been to! They have everything! Ice cold beer in it's own refrigerated room, lots of beef, seafood, sushi, wine, lots of ready to cook and pre cooked foods. This would be the perfect place to go for a quick meal to take home a cook for a date when your low on time and still take all the credit. Everything is easy to find and the store is easy to navigate. I even like how the little black shopping carts have a little section just for your bread so it won't get smashed. I don't come here for the regular grocery items because things are substantially more expensive here compared to where I usually shop. Many people hate Walmart, but I'm not one of them. That's where I get most of my food because it's cheap, but when I need a special item I come here. I was looking high and low for powdered egg whites, Target, nope; Walmart, nope; Whole Foods, nope! Finally I found them here at Giant Eagle. The produce is phenomenal and always of a high quality. All of the other stores I've mentioned don't come close (except WF) to the quality of GE. I rarely find produce with blemishes, I could almost make my selections with my eyes closed and come out just fine. Anyway, for produce and special things I make trips to GE. They are unbeatable for these little missions, but you'll spend tens to hundreds of extra dollars if you buy your regular groceries here. read more

I am a single, working Mom who commutes to work. My child is three, that means I cannot take my child into the grocery store. It always ends up in her begging for things I don't want to purchase, her trying to eat snacks before we buy hem, her refusal to ride in the cart, her begging for balloons, toys, etc. I love this location. It is big, beautiful and clean. However, the Curbside Express or Delivery options leave quite a lot to be desired. I've done delivery a few times. My food comes all stinking of cigarette smoke from the driver. My fruit is all smooshed and bruised, and they make mistakes. Curbside pickup is also a freaking nightmare. It is infinitely slow. It takes them ages to answer the phone. Last night in particular I sat waiting with an exhausted toddler in the car for 45 minutes. The gentleman (term used exceedingly loosely) had no sense of urgency. Originally, he told me my order was not ready and it would take him 25 minutes to shop for my things. I told him my pickup window was 7-8. I arrived at 7:55. We did not have this conversation until 8:0. When I asked why, he had no answer. I tried to reschedule my pickup for the following day and then he miraculously found my order. I called back ten minutes later as no one had come out yet to bring me my groceries or the person that was there before me. He claimed he was walking out now to handle the person in front of me. He didn't come outside for another ten minutes. I ended up having to change my potty trained child into a diaper in the car as we had been there so long and she was no longer able to hold it. We didn't pull out of there until 8:45 pm. I had to get out of the car and get my own groceries and put them into the car. He moved so slowly when I asked him to please give me the apples so they wouldn't roll around in the car and get bruised. No apology given ever. I called there customer service and was put on hold for another ten minutes as they tried to locate a manager. I said forget it. I will never shop here again. I've been a huge proponent and supporter of giant eagle. I love the get go and use my card to get discounts at both. But, this is the worst customer service. When I called to vent, she cut me off in the middle of a sentence and put me on hold. read more

Customer service has continued to dwindle. Went in to this evening to pick up a prescription, plus a few items. Went to the deli counter. No one in line. Three employees working at the time behind the counter. One sweeping/cleaning. One back faced to the customer (me) while talking to the employee sweeping/cleaning. Based on the conversation, a lot of complaints about work. Another in the back, wearing food safety gloves making eye contact with me, took their gloves off. After that, another 20-30 seconds pass. Not a single one made a gesture to assist. I am done with Giant Eagle. Went out of my way to go to Heinen's and will shop here moving forward. Greeted immediately, with other customers in line. Prescriptions will no longer be filled here as well. Don't get me started on a previous time when behind the meat counter a worker with their gloves on grabbed a tissue and wiped their nose.... read more

Understaffed. Checkout took literally 30 minutes on a Friday. Their corporate office needs to improve pay and add more people or add more self checkouts. In a recent visit..I think it was Christmas eve..I finished shopping and was about to push my empty cart to the cart Corral ...the store employee that was gathering the carts found some trash in the bottom of two carts...he took the paper trash out of carts and throws it on the ground in the parking lot.....why would litter the parking lot of your own work let alone anywhere else...very disappointed...where do these people come from ? read more
