I try to support small local businesses whenever I can, especially ones in my own neighborhood. In early January I stopped into Addax Tactical while I was out riding my e-bike with my dog. The staff were friendly, they were cool about my dog being there, and they even let me bring my bike inside. My first impression was positive. A little later I went back to order a rifle. I wanted a Henry Big Boy .357 Lever Action Rifle. They didn't have it in stock, and I was told it would take about two to three weeks to arrive because the SHOT Show convention was coming up. While doing the paperwork, I also decided to purchase a Ruger 10/22 so I could complete both purchases with a single background check. I left a deposit of about $1,200 toward roughly $2,000 total for the two rifles. Both rifles are very standard models that most gun stores typically have available or can obtain quickly. I could have easily purchased them elsewhere, but I made a deliberate choice to support a smaller shop in my neighborhood and was willing to wait the extra couple of weeks. Based on the timeline I was given, I expected the rifles to arrive by late January and to have them in my possession by mid-February after the required 10-day waiting period. That didn't happen. After three weeks I called to check on the order. Nothing had arrived yet. I waited another week and called again. Still nothing. The responses were always very casual, with little explanation other than that the rifles had been ordered. Around six weeks into the process, I was told the Ruger had arrived but they hadn't called because they assumed I wanted to pick up both rifles at the same time. I went in immediately and started the paperwork to take possession of the Ruger. During that visit I learned something that had never been mentioned before: the Henry rifle had not actually shipped yet, and the shop generally places firearm orders in batches rather than ordering individual rifles. This was the first time I had heard that, even though the original estimate had been two to three weeks. At that point I agreed to upgrade to the octagonal-barrel version of the Henry since I had always wanted that model anyway, and I was told the change would not affect the delivery timeline. After the 10-day waiting period I picked up the Ruger and again asked about the Henry. The answer was still that it had not arrived yet. By this point we were about eight weeks into the process, with no clear timeline. About a week later I called again and received the same answer. At that point I decided to cancel the Henry order and request a refund. I was told the refund would come from accounting and that I should expect a check in two to three weeks. After two weeks I called again and was told it could take up to 30 days. I eventually went to the shop in person to check on the refund. This time I was told I could not bring my bike or dog inside, even though I had been there several times before with both and it had never been an issue. Eventually I received a call saying the refund check had arrived. For the sake of transparency, I'm writing this from memory without the receipts directly in front of me, so the dollar amounts may be off by a few dollars either way, but the numbers below are very close to what was paid and refunded. When I picked up the check, the amount returned was about $370 out of the roughly $1,200 deposit I had paid. That means that after roughly 12 weeks, the final outcome of this transaction is that I effectively ended up with a $830 Ruger 10/22 -- a rifle that typically sells for a few hundred dollars at most gun shops. Even assuming some type of restocking fee, it's difficult to understand how that result makes sense, particularly for a rifle that, according to the shop, had not even shipped yet when I cancelled the order. I went into this purchase specifically because I wanted to support a small neighborhood business like Addax Tactical and was willing to wait longer than usual to do so. Unfortunately, after the delays, the lack of clear communication about how orders were handled, and the final refund outcome, the entire experience ended up being extremely frustrating. If you're considering ordering a firearm here, my advice would simply be to make sure you clearly understand the ordering process, timeline expectations, and refund policies before leaving a deposit. Posting this simply to document my experience so other customers know what to expect when placing a special order here.

By the time we entered the firing range, I had learned proper stance, range etiquette, how to load a magazine, and the importance of proper technique when racking the slide. But the most unexpected thing I learned was that my nervous system (as a first time shooter) would be taxed. He explained that my first shot would likely be my best shot because once I knew what to expect I would begin to anticipate and I would have a bit of a "fight or flight" response. I never would've expected that and so when it happened, I was well prepared. Even though most people know to expect the sound and the kickback of a weapon, you're not really prepared for it if you've never done it before. Sure enough, my hands got shaky, my breathing got shallow my heart rate raised, but he coached me on how to relax and breathe through it. I'm glad I listened to their suggestion as it's quickly become my favorite indoor range to practice at. They have a wide selection of firearms in the main shop and a decent selection of accessories for firearms, they're the only shop I've been to in the area with PDP mags on the shelves. They also have a good selection of firearms for rent on the firing lanes. Their staff are also very helpful and friendly. I've been there a few times and a younger guy named Sebastian has helped my newer friends improve their shooting with various tips about their grip and whatnot. I look forward to coming back regularly.

This old lady wow looks like she hasn't seen a salon in 3 years lied to another "stellar" employee about my asking price. This place has a bad reputation for a reason. The old bag who I dealt with (you can spot her, by looking for the lady who drew on her eyebrows different on each side. She looks like The Rocks ugly cousin who swears she is clean off heroin for the 12th time this year) is the absolute worst "customer service/sales rep" I have ever encountered. I asked him was he able to look up my items to see how much it would be to get my items out. The gentlemen told me to check my ticket. I stated that I was not in front of the ticket right this second and asked if he was able to look it up by my D.O.B. The gentleman just repeated "TICKET NUMBER,TICKET NUMBER" louder and louder into the phone. I stated once again that I did not have to ticket number in front of me at that time can he look it up from my D.O.B. Eventually the gentlemen asked me for my DOB and told me I have items that are expired, I informed him thats the reason I was calling to see what is the amount I owe for the expired items. He immediately tells me my 'Items are gone". I asked him to double check seeing that i was only a few days behind. He stated again "Items gone". I told him I just got back in town and just got the notice, How can my items be gone? He the proceeded to say "i dont know you come in", then hung up the phone in my face. When I get there a young man who Ive dealt with multiple times and who is always respectful, comes to the window and I asked for him to look up my items. This time with my ticket in hand, I hand the young man the ticket and he proceeded to look the number up and tell me my items are gone. I asked what do you mean their gone? I was only a few days behind. He then informs me "once the item is expired, the owner takes it out and it is either reposted for sell or its melted down". I Immediately said "melted down"? even if im only a few days behind? Yes he stated. I then asked if he was able to contact the manager and see if my items are for sure gone or melted down because i recently had a death in the family and i wasnt in town to recover my items and the items that just so happen to be pawned was the items in question. He then called the manager and said something in a different language and then the phone hung up, then he tell me " he said there gone". He stated that I can call the manager 3 days from now on a sunday. I asked if the manager is here tomorrow or is he only here on sunday's? He stated no "He's in vegas right now". I said so that why he doesnt want to have you check if my items are still here because hes in vegas and the young man said "YES". I then told them how any other time my items expired ive always been able to come get my items even after weeks or days of it being expired. Once again he told me that my items are GONE and I can come when the manager is in. I asked if the young man would please just check the ticket numbers and just see if my items were in the back. After going back and forth with me for about 5 more minutes he grabbed my tickets and pretended to go to the back to check then came back within less then 20 second and said "yea they're gone". I just left my info and asked if the manager would call me when he gets in. The fact that I had to beg for them just to go check the back to see if my items are there, just for him to pretend to go check as if I couldn't see him in the reflection of the glass just walk a few steps away then turn around like he checked is just SNEAKY and DECEITFUL. I will never pawn any other item in this place and i recommend you all not to either. There is a better pawn shop up the street who is always honest and holds your items if need be and not only send out a notice before and after your items are close to expiring but they will also call you to inform you. The name of the shop I WOULD RECOMMEND is A&G PAWN ( in the parking lot of vallarta on sepulveda and nordhoff). Over all I was yelled at over the phone and was basically told my items were GONE AND MELTED DOWN after being a few days late.

I been a customer with them for a long time maybe over 20 yrs had no problem everyone is excellent and helpful except with this new guy don't know where he come from he acts like he's the owner of the place To Helen and Gino the owner your going to loose customers if you going to have a kind of employee like this on your business its really bad for your business.
