Had just bought a car and had the car insurance switched over right away (from my old car to my new one). I ended up with a flat tire the day after purchasing my new car. Called for roadside assistance and was informed that coverage was only showing for my old car. I had confirmed the day I bought my car that I had insurance and was even sent new ID cards. Long story short, I was told I would have to pay the tow fee of $115 and they would "see" if I was eligible for reimbursement. I had to hound State Farm for 2 and a half weeks to get reimbursed. One staff member agreed to meet me and give me a check for reimbursement, but "totally forgot" and asked to reschedule. Barry told me to come to his office and he would issue reimbursement...almost 3 weeks later. When I arrived he had all sorts of excuses for why everything went wrong. No apologies, just excuses. And the instant I told him I'd be finding other insurance he went silent. Was rude as could be and didn't even so much as say goodbye when I left. If that's how you treat your customers, then I know I'm better off. I would highly recommend finding any other insurance or insurance agent for that matter, besides him.

He is not pushy and provides the details that I need to make decisions. I always contact him and get insurance rates on prospective automobiles prior to purchase. Yes, he has to provide multiple quotes, but this helps me decide what car to purchase (similar cars can be $40 a month difference in premium). I also do the same when purchasing a home or investment property. I seem to think about my insurance needs during the weekends and nights & he ALWAYS calls me back the next business afternoon (I am not a morning person)...I am glad because I often forget that I had questions and he is ready to answer them. Yes, I may be a little more "high maintenance" than most insurance customers, but he has more than "earned" my business and I am glad to have a great agent to turn to. Oh, I have had an auto claim (totaled car), a house claim (tree fell on my own home) & various glass/towing claims too. Before saying I am unlucky (I may be), remember I have been with Country for a LONG time. I have always been satisfied with the claims process & Roger even follows up with these. Many agents distance themselves during this time, but not him.

As it turned out, my policy lapsed and I had to be set up with their overpriced and substandard company. They apparently were sending notices to an old email address I no longer used. I contacted Shannon about this and nothing truly got resolved. If they offer you insurance with Bristol West, run. Truly a nasty, unethical company. I had a claim due to a wild horse hitting my car in the Nevada desert. I have 3 legitimate estimates for $4000. They paid $2400. Their excuse was that they could total the car if they paid more money. The car is worth more than double the legitimate cost to repair. I guess we'll just have to go with small claims. They did manage to send their worthless newsletter to the correct email. It just showed up in promotions. Time for a complaint to the Department of Insurance. Bad service all the way around.

We have Safeco insurance on multiple rentals, our home, two vehicles. Plus an umbrella policy. Over the past 18 months, we have been selling the rentals and she has unfailingly sent us the correct form to cancel our policy and promptly processed it. Ditto auto insurance. At one point, I wanted to see if we could get better coverage and contacted State Farm, Allstate, etc. through other agencies. That's where Maggie's service really shone. Responsive, accurate. We stayed with Safeco. Last year we moved into one of our rentals and sold our old residence, requiring a policy to be changed from landlord to homeowner. I, a genuine insurance dummy, got confused about all the refunds and Bal Due statements. Maggie hung in there and patiently explained what she had to do to align all our policy terms to end on the same date, again to help this dense policyholder.
