What a great little addition to the Marriott family! The staff was super friendly, but three times I went to the desk and all three times there was no one to be found. Rooms were clean, bathroom shower could use a little refresh. Beds were comfortable, but a little soft. Not Marriott beds, but seemed like Marriott linens. (Can you tell I love all things Marriott?) No ice machines, but they are very generous with ice they bag from the kitchen. All in all I would stay here again. read more

We stayed here for a long weekend while we visited Bearizona and Flagstaff. It is very conveniently located near the park, which is great if you want to get there when they open. The hotel is pretty much at the far east end of the main street that runs through town -- which is actually part of Route 66. There is a "canyon coaster" park next door and you're walking distance to many shops and restaurants in Williams. This is a motel-style place that is an upscale version of the motels that you'd find in "the old days" along Route 66 in towns like Williams. You park in front of your room and there is a pool down by the hotel lobby, which also has a restaurant and an indoor gathering area. They have bicycles that you can borrow and many people were using the pool during our stay. The room was nice and well-appointed. Notably, the in-room coffee was much better than 90% of the places I have stayed in the US. It appears to be a special "Trailborn Blend" from Huckleberry Roasters and is packaged as an instant coffee rather than the goofy single-cup brewing that many hotels/motels have these days. The front desk and housekeeping staff were nice and helpful. We had a short stay and the only thing I really needed was more coffee. :D I would come back as an option on the way to the Grand Canyon, a visit to northern Arizona to get out of the Phoenix heat, or as a waypoint along Route 66. read more

We stayed here because the Trailborn is tied to the Marriott Bonvoy program. It's a motel style property with a cute western theme located right on Route 66. I loved that you could easily walk to the stores and restaurants downtown. Keep in mind that motel style typically means there will be more noise from inconsiderate neighbors outside your door. My advice would be: stay in the Roundhouse section of the property. These rooms are set farther back from the road and the pool. You'll still hear the trains but it's not too bad. Also, ask for a second floor room so you don't hear Sasquatch clomping around above you. I was fairly impressed by all of the thoughtful little details in the room. 1) A reusable laundry bag that you can take home. 2) A nice cooler that you can borrow while you're staying there. If you really like it, you can purchase it and take it home. 3) Complimentary bikes you can borrow. 4) The bottled water was $5 but then you could refill it in the lobby with filtered water. The room was very comfortable and clean. I was disappointed by their on-site restaurant (Miss Kitty's) but I'd definitely come back and stay here again. read more

This is such a cute hotel in the middle of Williams, close to all the stores and restaurants. This hotel is located right next door to canyon coaster adventure park. We came for a quick 24 hour trip because my friend needed to pick up her daughter from a camping trip. My friend and I were looking forward to line dancing in the camp hall but unfortunately the camp hall was closed for a wedding. The hotel should have mentioned this to their guests in advance. Miss kittys is a small restaurant inside their hotel. Food and drinks were awesome! Highly recommend even if you're not staying at the hotel, go for dinner! We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening. It's so nice to enjoy the cooler temps outside while relaxing in a hot tub and star gazing. read more

When we planned our Route 66 roadtrip from Chicago to LA, we decided to stay here because the Marriott points were low compared to staying in Flagstaff. This is not a Marriott property, but they've signed a long-term partnership with Trailborn. The hotel was originally the Thunderbird and most recently a Red Roof Inn. It's located in Williams, which is a super cute Route 66 town about a one-hour drive from the Grand Canyon south entrance. It's the first hotel on your way into town and is located right next to the Canyon Adventure Park that has alpine coasters and other activities. We were a little nervous based on the pictures online, but were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The property is decorated with mid-Century and Western inspiration, with the room furniture and lamps, as well as the onsite restaurant and gathering room, fitting the vibe. Onsite amenities include a pool and spa, outside game activities, the Camp Hall gathering room with shuffleboard and board games, and bike rentals. On the weekends there are other activities in Camp Ha like dancing and bingo, but we were there on a Monday night. There's outdoor seating with a fire pit, and you can buy a s'mores kit if you're interested. You park right by your room motel style, and there are 4 Tesla charging stations available. We didn't dine in the restaurant but did order hush puppies and the chile apple pie to go. Both were delicious. Only complaints are that the beds are a little soft and you can hear the train what feels like all night. read more

The new owners spent a lot of money but gave no thought to the renovations. Recently, I asked for an ADA room. The staff was accommodating and found one (I wish the Marriott website would make it easier to book ADA). When I got to the room, I was amazed at how little thought had gone into the remodel. No luggage shelf except a much too narrow spot in the built-in closet. NO portable luggage rack. Ended up with my suitcase on the floor; not good for a disabled person. The tub had a good selection of grab bars but was a tub, so the disabled person has to step over and stand in the tub. No tub seat/chair to transfer to. Worst of all, there was not one single chair or place to sit except for the bed. NO chair, NO desk, no place to plug in and work on a computer. Six feet of vacant space between the foot of the bed and the wall, with nothing. I guess people in wheelchairs have to sit in their chairs all the time. Now, disabilities come in all types, but this room doesn't work for any type of disability. Hey, owner, next time hire a competent architect or consult with disabled people. Lovely property right on Route 66. Situated perfectly right next to the mountain coaster, with plenty of dining and tourist shop options from the moment you walk out. Super well maintained. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The hotel offers things to do such as dancing and free bike rental. The lobby has a little shopping section full of trail bare branded items that are actually cute and not tacky. The detailed brochures and signs were beautifully designed. When we had an opportunity to drive our girls home from college from North Carolina to California my husband said he really wanted to see the Grand Canyon on the way home. He chose Trailborn probably because abuse it has ties to the Bonvoy collection of lodging. Trailborn Grand Canyon appears to be a remodel project where every detail has been thoughtfully executed. The branding is immaculate. So cute. Honestly reminds me of my daughter's artwork and creativity. The accommodations are tight/cozy but super comfy. I needed an iron and they only provide steamers. I picked this place because I was coming to Williams and had a free night through Marriott that was expiring. What a charming score. Kind of vintage motel on Route 66. We didn't do the happy hour or eat there, but the room was clean, the beds were comfortable and we had plenty of pillows (as requested). Front desk staff was professional and friendly. This is a cozy two level motel just an hour or so from the Grand Canyon. It's clean and the guests all seem to be traveling Route 66 on which it resides or visiting the canyon... so it seems low key. It's been a long time since I've looked forward to reviewing a diamond in the crown of hotels local to Williams. From the moment of arrival, the appearance and spirit of the Trailborn embodies everything in a rustic, western, old school environment. The property is immaculate, from the lobby to the grounds to the rooms, the staff are up to the task of providing a pleasant check in process, all of the necessities needed for a memorable stay. The rooms are undeniably comfortable, beds are just perfect, well decorated and just damn charming, a walk back into the past, think back to any summer camp you went to or experienced and you're starting to get the idea. Take into consideration the grounds, a pool and spa, a towering fire pit, bicycles for use by customers, a remarkably beautiful motif with colors that blend in with the towering pine trees, I mean it just couldn't be any more beautiful. Its location on the Main Street of Williams is a brief walk from bustling downtown Williams and all of its shops and eateries, but if you are looking for a spectacular place to dine ? The on-site Ms Kitty's bar and restaurant is going to satisfy every craving, the food is off the charts. By virtue of being a customer ? A 6am complimentary breakfast will start your day before you're off to the Grand Canyon, BeArizona or the Forest slide right next to the property. My past reviews have usually included some disappointment or disdain with some expectation or service, I couldn't find anything wrong here if I tried. Simply put ? When you start researching your vacation or stay ? This property will either show up as available or won't because it's sold out, this being a still relatively new addition to Williams, the word is getting out. The prices are reasonable and most certainly are equivalent to others in the area but there's so much more to offer here. It's takes a village to become top notch, and this will easily become the crown jewel of Williams Arizona while everyone is watching. This hotel is in a great spot and it has potential but we won't be back. We had issues with our room. Checked in 10 minutes early, and was told room was still being cleaned, so we waited. Walked in, and noticed floors weren't mopped or vacuumed as there was dog food on the floor and crumbs on the tile. Showers were not cleaned as my husband said there was a huge wad of female black hair bundled up on top of the shampoo/conditioner dispenser. We understand we are in the desert, but this is the only hotel we've ever stayed in out here that had a bug issue. Within 2 hours of being in the hotel, we killed 2 spiders, 1 cricket, 1 nat crawling on a pillow, and one beetle that was crawling across the ceiling. Again, sad to say for the price we expected more. It has so much potential, but the cleanliness was not there whatsoever and was a huge disappointment. Upon checkout, I was asked how our stay was and responded "it was okay, could have been better." and no concern from front staff to ask what any issues were. This is a nicely renovation place with many fun amenities. They does have 4 Tesla universal charges that you pay through Tesla. The customer service needs some help though. We had $10/day credit and stayed 2 nights. We had $20 credit but was never told $10 must be used for each day. It was a Monday, and they power washed the exterior at 7am when people are sleeping. Dirt got all over parked car. I even heard a child slip due to the floor being wet. The room floors were squeaky and difficult to be quiet when others are sleeping. read more

Love the Marriott Brand,as retired military used them a lot and seen this property online. Online it Looked very well kept, nice, and clean compared to some of the other "Court Style" Stays in Williams. Online Rate showed 119. Definitely affordable for 2 Retirees with 2 Senior Dogs. However upon arrival, the kind Desk Clerk quote was the Online Amount of 119. AND THEN, +150. incidental fee+ a 35.+35. per-pet, Per-Night FEE +TAX + Lodging Fees ,= to the Total Amount of Around ?? lol, (did not quite get to the total by then), but around a whopping 700.00, for a 3 Night Stay. However, just Maybe the 150. would be credited back appx. ?? days after our stay?? We have stayed with 3-5 Star Properties without Any Incidental Holds or Charges of 70.PER-Night for our Dogs. No wonder the mention of Pet Friendly. But for a 119. a Night Room. lol. I'm all about capitalism and fought to preserve it, this isn't so much about the Price of the Advertised Room Rates as it is for the Un-Advertised Pricing through FEES that stings. Almost forgot, Good News VETS. They Honor your Service with a Discount of around 6 Bucks. Horrible, Horrible!!! Id like to start off by saying I never experienced racism my whole life until i came to this hotel, started off at the bar when sat down. Never greeted by the old lady bartender. She kept talking to all the white folks and asking if they were good except me, their cups kept getting refilled as i sat there with my credit card in my hand! After the drunks left which were only 3! Then she asked me what i needed and said she was closing at 8! I brushed it off and paid for a drink and left. we checked in the hotel and the shampoo/conditioner and body wash container were empty! Dust everywhere and stains all over the carpets. The window in bathroom was cracked and allowed cold air all night to get in! When we woke up we expected a nice breakfast! Disgusting! Old stale expired cereal and milk! Eggs were cold and food wouldn't get replenished fast enough. Our last day we reserved at the steakhouse miss kitty s, food was not good! Our waiter AMY looked like she just smoked meth in the back, she said half theyre menu was out so only had a small option,how was it possible when we arrived at 430 and restaurant opened at 4? She was so unprofessional, coke machine was out! We even got hit with sorry we have no ketchup to go along with your fries! How does a restaurant sell out of ketchup in 30 minutes!? My wife ordered a margarita and 20 minutes later she said "oops I forgot to hit the send button on your drink" she still had the nerve to charge herself a $20 tip! The whole staff seemed like they were all high on meth! Missing teeth. House keeping kept knocking on our door after us telling them no thank you! We got jeeper creepers vibe our whole stay there! The fire pit was a nice touch. The rooms are cozy and even have a nice high-tech tea kettle, without having to use the usual coffee pot that most hotels provide and I never use (because who wants to smell musty coffee in your tea?). However, my BED was absolutely HORRIBLE. It's an embarrassment for a hotel to charge as much as they do and have beds of this quality. You can buy a cheap mattress from Walmart that will be comfortable enough for most guests! Get a FOAM mattress with medium firmness, Marriott. It'll suit most guests. There was a horrible mattress dip in the middle of one bed that had me tossing and turning all night. The beds are just way too soft and aren't meant to withstand nightly guests. I made a reservation for this motel on the Marriot Bonvoy app on Oct 20, 2025. I reserved a room with 2 queen beds for two nights, April 3-5 2026. When we arrived on April 3, I was told they had no record of my reservation. I gave the front desk employee my confirmation number from Marriot, she said even with that she could not find anything in my name. She said she did have one room left but it was a single king bed. I asked if they had cots for my two teen children to sleep on, she said no they didn't. The clerk did absolutely nothing to try and help me. I ended up leaving to find somewhere else to stay. Marriot should be ashamed to be affiliated with this terrible place. read more

Every one was friendly but my son wanted to go swimming and the pool was very clouding and we brought that to their attention and they said it was the calcium. Wrong, the pool needed chemicals. The attendant emptied the strainer basket and left. I also got double billed for the room WE ate in Kiitys Steak house and ordered Tri tip medium rare, in came out blod red.We sent it back twice. The third time it e was well done and like leather. We told the waitress and they didn't offer us anything any thing to make it right. read more

Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it's a dog friendly property. If those are your main concerns (plus being near the Grand Canyon) then I would say this is a good place to stay. It doesn't get the full 5 stars for me because I couldn't help but feel the customer service was off/lacking. We had a poor experience at Miss Kitty's. We tried to have dinner there with our dog, when we walked in the hostess didn't even greet us instead she mumbled something about the dog and walked away. She and possibly her manager? had a whispered but still visible to us annoyed talk about the dog then turned to us with a super fake friendly smile and told us we couldn't bring the dog inside. I totally understand dogs not being allowed inside, it was the insincerity that bothered me and unfortunately I felt that several times from different employees throughout my stay. Again, if you just need a place to sleep, great. If you care about customer service.. meh maybe look elsewhere. read more

My wife and I stayed here on our trip to the Grand Canyon, It was a nice place and the staff was super friendly, especially Dana who checked us in, couldn't have been more helpful and informative. The free breakfast was ok, on par with a Holiday Inn Express breakfast, but decent for included. We really enjoyed our stay. Only negatives and reason for 3 stars is the they had a Quinceañera in the main hall that blared music till past 11pm with ZERO consideration for the people paying to stay there. Also, they offered a $10/day dining credit when we checked in, but at checkout the girl would only apply $10 for the 3 days we were there because she said she didn't know how to apply it to the other days. It's only $20, but don't offer it if you're not going to give it or have employees who know how to work your systems. read more

Stayed for two nights in late August. I like the vibe and branding, the camp hall area was great, fun games, big open event space off the lobby. The setting was cool and convenient at the end of the 66 strip and service was good. We did have a few issues with our room. The beds are not good, which was surprising considering they should be almost new. Already have low spots, aka back killlers. The sink drain had issues actually draining, and other guests had a similar issue. The body gel and hair products containers in the shower did not work, or were empty. The upper corner of the room door was splitting so hard to open and close. And the housekeeper didn't restock coffee or soap. The only deal breaker for me was the low quality mattresses, if I can't sleep at a motel, why I am there? read more
