I hit something on the road that damaged the side wall of two tires on the same side of my horse trailer. They were able to locate a matching tire, get it delivered, mounted with new valve stem and ready for me to pick up in under 5 hrs. I was in a bind, they absolutely came through for me, at a fair price:-). I plan to return to have them replace the other tires and service the running gear. Clearly I am not the only one who found this place knowledgeable, reasonable and helpful, to get regular service it's a 2 week wait. Trailer repair and maintenance is all they do. It is a "mom and pop" type operation, which has its pros and cons. Nice friendly people trying hard to do it right, but more limited hours and sometimes a little harder to reach. Ultimately it's why I make it 4 stars not 5. Standard operating procedure is to drop off your trailer for a few days, come back and it's good as new. Metalwork, axel replacement, tires, brakes, inspection, sealing roofs, if it's trailer repair they do it. Prices are very middle of the road, they aren't rock bottom but they aren't crazy high either. Turnaround time does vary with time of year and how slammed they are, but if you're in a hurry they will try and accommodate. No "showroom", no wall of accessories, no selling of new trailers, just fixing them. read more

I had written a review about this place a couple years ago and noticed it has been removed. No idea why and I will be brief here on my original post. When we brought out trailer to be inspected and have a small repair we found that the repair was never done and it seemed that the inspection wasn't either. In fact, we took it to another garage in Winchester and was told that the trailer should not have passed the inspection and that it was obviously dangerous to be on the road at all. I've been going to have my horse trailers inspected at Trailer Care since they opened. They have always been knowledgeable and fairly quick with their inspections. They are good about reminding me and asking whether I'd like routine maintenance like greasing the ball bearings in the wheels, etc. All in all they seem like a good, honest business. read more

I can not say enough about how helpful and customer service focused the foreman is at Trailer Care. He spent 15 minutes with me after closing time to explain what he did to my trailer. I called Trailer Care to see if they could attach my new boat motor to my Jon boat, and to adjust my trailer so it could support the motor. The foreman mentioned this is not something they normally do but was willing to assist. 7 days later he made all the adjustments to the trailer, attached the motor and built a transom saver to support the motor. The foreman did not need to explain his repairs especially after the store was closed but he did. Really good customer service. Work quality excellent. I never forget this experience. Not common for this type of service at a repair shop! Not only was the foreman helpful but he performed a service they don't normally do. Much appreciated! read more

I want to love trailer care. It's close, I trust their judgment, I don't think their prices are terrible. The issues I have involve how busy they are, which is a good sign, but a major inconvenience. They are the only trailer repair in the immediate area and this is horse country. A small shop of local guys, their business model is more mom and pop with hours from M-F, 9-5 and Saturday 9-12 (maybe 8am?). They close on and around holidays. And that would all be fine, except every time I've taken my trailer there, no matter what time of year, it was at least a week, maybe longer, before it could even be seen. Once I had them add saddle racks to the nose of my trailer and was very disappointed at how sloppily the work was done for the $350 I paid - raw wood, not painted or finished, and screws poking through the outer skin of the trailer. I think it's because they try to hurry through things, because they are always so far behind the work load and in that case quality definitely suffered. They offered a few options for fixing the issue with the screws and fixed it, but it ended up wasting more of their time in the end. And it makes me wonder what other corners they might be cutting. They've had my wrecked trailer now for just shy of 4 weeks and have yet to even look at it. I brought it in after I was hit a week before thanksgiving and I need to know if it's totaled or fixable, so my insurance company and I can move forward. We are not even talking about fixing it yet - just assessing it for insurance. I've been stuck in insurance limbo, without a trailer in the middle of my busiest riding season for 4 weeks (so far), because they can't find the time to look at it. My suggestion would be to add employees, lengthen business hours (for example, to 8pm on weekdays and 3pm on Saturdays), have the employees work in shifts, so everyone's still workin the same amount of work time, but more work is getting done. Whatever you have to do to ensure quality work and quicker turnaround time without losing the small shop atmosphere. Seriously, 4 weeks for an insurance assessment is ridiculous. read more

I've used Trailer Care for years and never been thrilled (you always have to leave your trailer for a week, even for inspection only). Honestly, how hard is it to do routine maintenance and inspect a horse trailer. After last year's experience I should have known not to go back again this year, but they are close by so I went again. Last year the lights I paid for them to replace didn't work when I went a week later to pick up my trailer. I was so glad I checked before pulling out of the lot! They brought out a ladder, realized the "kid" mechanic had wired them backwards, and made me wait while they rewired all the lights. Fast forward to this year and after a week on the lot for an inspection (and I had asked them to repair a water leak-which they declined to fix unless I wanted to leave it there for at least another week) I found the fender damaged. When I went into the office to tell my husband, who was at the counter paying, that there was damage the woman ringing him up yelled at me that I should accuse them of damaging our trailer. I was shocked at how rudely she treated me and told her I wasn't accusing her of anything I was merely informing my husband. He went into the bay and asked the mechanic to just come bang out the dented fender and we were on our way. It wasn't 100% repaired but we were mobile and so happy to just get out of there. Have my brakes serviced on my horse trailer and some lights repaired. The price was OK and the service was OK...I had to bring it back once to complete the service as two items needed to be looked at again. Would use again and recommend to other horse trailer owners. read more

Have been there multiple times. Prices are insanely high because they are the only place in the area. They will do stuff to your trailer without asking you first or confirming a price and then expect you to be okay with it. They told me that something is wrong with my trailer and when i brought it somewhere else for a second opinion I learned that they completely exaggerated the issue.
