    Chicken panini

Smoothie was good, wasn't a fan of the juice and the chicken panini has barely any chicken in it. Quinoa has too much celery and not much flavor.

Protein bars- was happy to see RX Bars offered!

I'm bummed to write such a "meh" review for a cute cafe like Trailside! Part of the reason our visit was so stressful was due to the lack of parking nearby. There's literally no street parking adjacent to the shop, and the neighboring building has a sign near the parking spaces that specifically say that you can't park there if you're going to Trailside Cafe at risk of being towed. Ooooookay. However, the Trailside Cafe itself is really nice! They serve up a variety of coffee and tea drinks, plus smoothies and a couple of lunch options in the form of soups, salads, and sandwiches. I was bummed that they didn't offer unsweetened iced tea, and only had the bottled kind with sugar, so I settled for a hot tea instead. I was delighted that Trailside carries Harney & Sons brand tea (my favorite), and even though a hot tea wasn't what I was expecting, it was still very good. My boyfriend was also pleased with his coffee. Trailside also offers a variety of pastries and baked goods, which looked tasty and would have been sampled if we weren't heading off to lunch plans right after. The cafe itself is small, but very comfortable and homey with ample seating and wall outlets, making it an ideal place to hang out and get work done. I also saw that they have a patio out back, which we'll be checking out next time. In the meantime, I hope they can figure out a way to make parking for patrons easier! I guess we'll just walk here next time.

My colleague and I needed a place for lunch and honestly there isnt much in Yorktown Heights. As we were trying to find a new place we stumbled on the Trailside Cafe. It has an interesting location where we weren't sure where to park but found a spot at a neighboring business. This is a small little cafe with an extension in the back that allows for more room. It is cozy and there is no table service so you order at the counter. The service is quick and most of the wraps/salads are premade fyi. I was a little confused on the concept. It seems like it is all over the place. They have frittata's, acai bowls, and other healthy items like salads. It doesnt seem like there is a set concept or specialty. They seemed like they were out of a lot of things or fazing them out. I understood why after eating the frittata. It wasn't the best I have had. The frittata was a hockey puck. It had ok flavor but nothing I would come back for. I also tried the tomato soup that had good tomato flavor but was a little grainy in texture. We sat in the back and enjoyed the extra space. It looks like they have some board games and other things to keep busy. In the end, this lunch wasnt bad but it wasn't anything I would come back for.

Right off the bike path in Yorktown. What a treat. Healthy alternative. Oatmeal with fruit was fresh, delicious. And not to bad 2 for $10.00

When I say, we found the perfect spot, we found the perfect spot. They were playing music, but not at that stupid loud volume that everybody seems to think they need to play music in a venue where you want to have a meal with friends or a cup of coffee and chat. It was there, but not intrusive. It was a great combination of eclectic without that mainstream pablum that you hear in every Starbucks, every elevator, every doctors office, everywhere. They had a wonderful selection of coffee and all of it was very reasonably priced. The staff was lovely; greeted me immediately and went out of their way to be kind. We found a great table and we were able to play and never felt like we were taking up too much space. Other people found their tables and everybody was very friendly. The decor was funky and just what I want from a café. They had food and pastries that I didn't get a chance to try, but my mocha with oat milk was fantastic. We live in Connecticut, but we might travel to go here, just because. Just because.

I'm sure you've never heard of him because you're too young, but we worked for JAQUES MAXIMUM. A little Napoleon that could get the same results even better results without screaming constantly! Nothing like being the only woman in the kitchen and having a bunch of Frenchman, screaming obscene words at you in both English and French. Why I tolerated that I still don't know I really wanted to learn. I was on the line with Alfred Portale, and was his commis. He opened his extremely successful restaurant after Jacque decided he had had enough and went back to France. He came every two weeks straight from the airport and started screaming before he even saw anyone down the long hallway. I'm truly not kidding. Alfred warned me don't look the CHEF in the eye. I think that's the first thing he ever said to me. Then the Anita Hill hearings happens and the backlash was incredible. They would sexually harass me every day and then ask me was I going to sue them? I'm not a violent person, but I felt like taking a kitchen knife and never mind. This was my first job in a good Kitchen and the manager had cocaine running out of his nose when he was telling me that I was only worth three dollars an hour. I didn't go to some fantasy school. I went to the school of hard knocks. My husband and I spoke to Mark a very nice guy, at least to us. Most people don't want to get any feedback and that's a big mistake. We gave him. Our feedback thanked him and left it at that he thanked us as well. We really were restaurant consultants. It's so easy to see what's wrong in the kitchen and what's dangerous in the kitchen at first glance and then when you dig deeper, oh my gosh, it's a wonder we even eat out anymore. If people saw what went on behind the scenes, they would never ever eat out, but we know ROOT 2 RISE is not we repeat not like that. You also sell some great crackers. We can't find anywhere else. We kept the box it is called BETTER BUCKWHEAT. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND NOT TERRIBLY OVERPRICED. I think someone might be making mistake when stalking the shelves for crackers and other snacks. Two wonderful ladies were sitting right in front of where the snacks are and when they started looking, we found a few items that are not vegan at all. We don't know how to send this privately, otherwise we would. Phone is terribly compromised. We love your Restaurant and wanted to succeed more than you can believe. We both have been vegan since 1996. We were both vegetarians at about age 11. We really appreciate your great work. Sorry we are terrible at technology and also the phone. She ain't so great.
