Sold Us a Moldy, Leaking RV -- Then Refused to Help When Caught Review: We purchased a 2012 Jayco White Hawk Ultra Lite from Trailside RV Center in Grain Valley, MO -- and it turned out to be a moldy, water-damaged, structurally unsafe nightmare. None of this was disclosed at the time of sale. Shortly after purchase, the floors began softening and rotting. Active leaks were found throughout the unit. A pest control professional confirmed it was uninhabitable due to excessive moisture and decay. During a conversation at the dealership, a manager accidentally read aloud from an internal inspection report -- clearly stating "bad seals" -- which Trailside never disclosed to us. That was the moment we realized: they knew. When we reached out to resolve the issue, Pat Baggette, Trailside's controller (who also happens to be a licensed attorney, though not listed as their legal counsel), responded by email stating that, due to our decision to involve third parties like the BBB, they were no longer willing to work toward an "amicable solution." We paid over $13,000 for a trailer that was unsafe and unfit for living. Trailside chose to walk away rather than make it right. If you're thinking about doing business with them -- don't. Get a third-party inspection. Record every interaction. And most importantly, don't trust their word. read more

Traded in a Jayco 22' NorthPoint for a used Super C. They claimed I misrepresented my trade although I provided detailed pics. There was one minor issue that was my fault which happened after the online appraisal form. Once I dropped the trade off a day before we were to make the deal, they went over it in great detail and used their assessment to devalue my trade. They claimed $5k in repairs needed to resell. They brought up issues that I had no knowledge of and many were Jayco quality and workmanship related. They attempted to assess the unit as if it were brand new. They sell this junk to us knowing its junk then use that against you to devalue your trade when the time comes. Just like all RV dealers, shady and untrusting. Did the deal anyway as they caved. Your better off buying from a private seller as dealers cannot be trusted. read more

i had Trailside service center service my generator on my Alegro Open Road Motorhome. It required installing a new fuel pump. Donnie; Service Manager and the service team got my unit in on time and got the generator serviced and the new fuel pump installed as soon as possible. The entire crew was great to work with. Very friendly and cooperative. They gave me a feeling I was the most important person in the shop at that time. Donnie saved me as much money a he could on the new fuel pump. We worked with Lane, our salesman Chuck, Michael, and Anthony and they were all extremely knowledgeable, professional, and went out their way to make sure any questions we had got answered, how to contact them after the sale if we had questions, and explained every detail about our new RV while we were there. I can't give anything but a good rating with our one-time encounter with Trailside at this point. We stopped in to just shop. We are considering purchasing a RV in the near future and wanted to just browse. (This is a compliment, not a frustration)... I LOVE that we didn't get bombarded by sales people. I HATE THAT. We just wanted to browse. Love that they leave the for-sale options open for browsing. We saw a good amount of options. Didn't find the exact one we wanted but we most certainly were pleased to learn things we weren't looking for in a 5th-wheel. I have purchased 2 new Jayco Trailers from Trailside. My second one has been in numerous times for warranty work. Don't expect special service because you bought your rv there. It takes weeks to get an appointment. I left my trailer there last October for several repairs. They had it for a month and fixed one of the three items. A window seal was coming out and I would not stay in place. They said one item didn't need anything. One item was fixed and the window they said was repaired. When I looked at it, it either had not been even looked at or came out when they moved it. The service tech said he would order a new seal and send it to me to repair. Never happened. I made new appointment 2 months in advance to spring and left it again. A month later, I called them to see if it was done. Awhile later they texted me it was now in shop. Two days later said it was done. All they did was push it back in place and did not replace with new seal. Lady said she did not know about needing new seal. I dont think they even looked at it until I called after 30 days. Don't expect good service from this place. I will never go back. read more

I purchased a 32' travel trailer from Trailside RV about three months ago. I have used it about five times so far and the air conditioning would not work. This is a brand new trailer which is under warranty I brought this trailer back to Trailside in which I compiled a listing of defects outside of the AC not working. The last trip was ruined since we did not have Air for five days. Trailside told me the AC started working when they lifted off the cover that is on top of the roof and they also stated Jayco is saying that there could be a grounding problem with the cover. Trailside is telling me that I have to go on another trip and keep testing it out for them in stead of changing the AC unit out. This is very poor customer satisfaction, asking me to ruin future trips instead of replacing the defective unit. read more

My friends and I came to look at RV's. My wife and I are looking for a camping rv and our friends are looking for a 5th wheel to retire in. You can't look at anything without going into the sales office first and when we get to the door they require masks to to enter. We don't even know if you have what we're looking for. why should we be forced into speaking with a salesman just to look? Why should we be forced into wearing a pointless mask to walk around outdoors? We'll take out money somewhere else. read more

We purchased a Jayco travel trailer from Trailside in August 2018. The purchasing process was simple and easy. We recently took a trip to Colorado and had several issues with the camper. The shower drain disconnected, gutter/awning pulled away from the camper, water heater stopped working, and our roof looked like a balloon on the way home...air was getting under the rubber roof and caused it to become unglued. I was in contact with Nancy in the warranty department about these issues via email as soon as they happened. She guided us through some steps to fix the awning while in Colorado so it was secure enough to make the trip home. On the way home we took the camper directly to Trailside and met with Nancy to review the needed repairs. She said they were currently booking service repairs 3 weeks out, but she would try to get us in so we could make our next camping trip 9 days later. After initially looking at the roof, it was determined that they could pull it back, re-glue, and reattach gutters. When they got the camper in, the found a few places where the roof and torn. Nancy rush ordered a new roof in, had the old one removed, new one installed and fixed all the other issues and now we're sitting in our camper at Roaring River State Park. A huge shoutout to Nancy and her crew for the exceptional job they did in making the repairs and keeping us updated throughout the process. I would highly recommend Trailside...they definitely take care of their customers. read more

Sad to read previous reviews - I'm sorry they had poor experiences here. I cannot speak to the actual labor dept. as we only needed a few parts, but the parts department here had exceptional customer service! After losing the bar and hold down for our propane tanks somewhere between Mount Rushmore and Sioux Falls and no luck with multiple RV and hardware stores in the Sioux Falls area and calling multiple places on the road between SF and Kansas City, Trailside RV not only had what we originally called about but were all so friendly and helpful. They even tried to help us figure out something else we want to do and spent time and energy into trying to find a way to make it happen then gave us recommendations for a nearby business that may be able to help. Great customer service in parts - highly recommend if you need something to fix a small problem yourself on your RV! read more

Bait and Switch!! Needed my microwave replaced. Was told I could buy a Sharp Convection/Grill which they would install. The install date was three weeks out, so I paid for a months stay at the Trailside RV Park. Next day, I told they would not install the Sharp but would install Contoure at $360.00 which could be installed in three days. Now I find that model CMC11040B was discontinued with a discounted price. I was charged full price of course. Charged for one hour labor to install microwave, okay with that. Then was charged another hour of labor to install a bracket for a 24 inch flat screen TV. Instead of charging for the actual labor time, their system is to charge a separate hour for each item of work done. Would you want to pay $218. for less than one hour of time? Form wouldn't allow me to give them no stars for that service. Did not receive the card to register the microwave, who knows where that is..... Sure hope this saves other Rvers. Get everything in writing up front! Do not take their word. read more
