I wish I could say I love working out, but I don't. That's exactly why I need a personal trainer like Shain at Elite Triangle Fitness. After years (ok, decades) of making excuses to myself and my loved ones, I finally had to admit that what I was doing (basically nothing) wasn't working. But I still wasn't completely sold on working with Shain until I actually tried it. After just two months, I've moved from 1x per week sessions to twice per week. I'm already feeling the results, and I don't think it's my imagination when I say I can see it too. Still, it's not always easy getting myself up and down to ETF for a work out. But Shain keeps it interesting by continually changing things up and challenging me. It's never boring, like walking endlessly on a treadmill and waiting in line to do the same old exercises on a circuit at the gym. Speaking of gyms, the other thing that's really great about training at ETF is that it's a private setting. Sweating, huffing, and puffing while surrounded by a bunch of glistening, beautiful hardbodies at LA Fitness or wherever would do nothing for my ego or motivation. And best of all, it's very affordable. I had no idea that I could get this kind of personalized attention and expert help with achieving my fitness goals. The only thing I'm kicking harder than the bag at ETF is myself, for waiting so long to get started.

Recently I made the fearless decision to change my career path…read more In order to begin this path, I had a deadline to meet for a physical ability test. With little gym training, I had to search for a personal trainer and fast! I found Burntown Fitness! Personal trainers Kisar and Traci have the expertise and patience to get you through your challenge, whatever that may be. In less than 3 months, I successfully completed the physical ability test exceeding minimum qualifications, and was able to be tested remotely at their facility. I have interviews lined-up in law enforcement! I am beyond grateful!

I was looking for a gym that was close to my house, and that had early morning sessions to fit my schedule. What I didn't expect is an amazing facility, with a fantastic training staff, an owner who cares about every single one of his clients on a personal level, and a clientele with that get-it-done attitude to keep me motivated. I am the kind of person that needs a trainer to tell me what to do, to push my limits, and take an interest in my health and fitness goals. I feel like Kisar (the owner) is always trying to improve the classes by bringing in new and fresh ideas to the table, which is great, considering I really enjoy challenges. And if you work out with him, be prepared to get REKT. That guy pushes you to your limits, every time!! Burntown also has nutrition programs to help you kick start your journey. And the trainers... can't be spoken about highly enough. Each one is FANTASTIC and adds their own flavor and style to their classes (s/o to Emily who has a booming/motivating voice, who takes time to correct my form and lets me know if something looks to easy for me). I love a gym that takes time to learn about each members goals, and help them achieve them. And I love a great community that supports one another, and you get that here with Burntown!

I've played sports and now in Portland, live on a bicycle. Now in my forties, I need to remain active. I went to a Yelp event and by default, I won free foundations classes and a one month membership. I had never done crossfit. Enter a little energized sparkplug by the name of Alex, and you have Mt Tabor CrossFit's reason for being. She is encouraging, positive and great at correcting your form. I have always been used to isolated workouts, so getting used to circuit training is a bit different but, so far I've adapted well. It is just me and one other in our class and we've caught on pretty quick. So far, so good and if you are up for trying something new, go see Alex. Enjoy.

It's high intensity, short duration that trains you to be a well-rounded athlete, hence the name Crossfit. Alex is a little fire-cracker of a coach and she's wonderful at explaining the movements, I love the support I get from Alex plus cheers from fellow classmate! The workouts can seem intimidating but it is modified to your fitness level ... If you are looking for a challenge and see what your limits are, this may be the place worth checking out, it is a very competitive environment but you are mostly competing against yourself.
