It was time for my appointment like always as soon enter to the building. I was welcome for the ladies in the front desk. I didn't have to wait for so long when they was time for me to start my check up my prescription change a little bit and they told me that everything was good they recommend me to get reading glasses too. We can talk about that in my next appointment lol and since my prescription change so that's mean if it's time for new classes I went to check the frames and I love all the options that they have the lady who was helping me that I can't remember her name. She was so sweet telling me if he's the frames they look good all my type of face at the end I can resist. I got the Prada and of course they had to be teal or have a little teal. They ladies they know my obsession with the color teal and like always I had the best customer service did take care of me when I was there and they told me my glasses were ready like in two weeks. Great friendly staff, on time and prompt. didn't have to sit in the waiting room for ever. Dr. Soares is very nice and talks to you like a friend. Staff was very helpful and patient while picking out frames because I'm really picky when it comes to frames. Over all a great experience. read more

Dr soares is the best eye doctor around! He is the only doctor I will go to for my eye care needs. I've had the best experience going to him! He is SO friendly and goes above and beyond for his patients. His staff is amazing as well! And to top it off, the office is beautiful. Careful when you place appointment.... I called to cancel my appointment a couple days before and got sent a no show fee. Ridiculous $50

They make you get dilated or charge you 20$ that's not covered by insurance. Which should be optional. Dr soares can't get a prescription right. Had 3 glasses recheck with no difference. I had to bring in my old prescription that was eight months old from my prior OD. My eye exam was April 27. It has been four months and still have no prescription glasses. Do not waste your time, benefits, and money here. No pateint care at all, the only interest they have is money. I'm out 200$, while they complain that they're out of pocket 600$ when it's their fault they can't get my prescription right. First couple visits ok. Last one decided it's time to go somewhere else. The service there is like a favorites first kind of service. Went there to get my glasses adjusted again. Told please wait. Signed in waited 15 minutes here comes a friend of theirs. Sure we get you right in. No signing I'm for this person who sat down and we were left sitting. Sorry but when you confront someone an apology is acceptable but when you say something and they all look at each like UM I don't know to say. I got caught in the cookie jar look. I recently moved to Los Banos and have had the opportunity to use Advanced Eyecare Associates a few different times. Dr Soares is an excellent Optometrist and along with his staff, has always been helpful and professional. This last time I was there, I was looking for new frames for my glasses. Lauren, the girl who helped me, was not only sweet and kind, but she was genuinely helpful and had a great attitude. I had a hard time finding the frames I liked and she made me feel well taken care of the whole tome. I really appreciated such excellent service. read more

Even though I have not had an eye exam with this OD, the staff he employs are super friendly and always helpful. I went in here trying to get my sunglasses fixed, and they went out of their way to try and help me. In the end, they couldn't fix them, but were nice enough to refer me to another OD in town. If you want to go to an eye doctor that has favorites this is the place for you. If you like rude receptionist and doctors that spend maybe 3 minutes with you then this is the place. Do you ever get annoyed with people being to nice? Well you won't have that problem here. A few months ago I was having problems with eye swelling and I called to make an appointment because eyes are kinda important and they didn't answer the phone and they never called back. My experience with Dr. Soares It took them 3 weeks to see me, I understood that when showing up to my appointment 20 minutes early I sat and waited for 30 Minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment, then I sat for 27 minutes EXACTLY in the exam room to be told they were WAY behind by an assistant, well for an extended lunch break I am already behind schedule. I could hear the doctor talking and chatting up a storm for over 15 minutes about nothing relevant to the other patients visit. the doctor then came in without introducing him self , ran thru my ENTIRE exam, which was my first there and first since I lost my glasses 9 months ago when I was with a much better eye group IN 4 MINUTES THEN I HEARD HIM GO OUTSIDE AND laugh and SAY "WELL THAT ONE SHOULD CATCH US UP" I felt very very insulted by this experience 4 days later when my glasses came and They had already ran my insurance and took my co pay and payment in full for lenses and frame of course the prescription was WRONG made me dizzy. First time going here, my visit was quick and friendly. I was helped right away and I was there for less than an hour. However, it's been three weeks since I've been to my appointment and I still haven't received my glasses. I was told it'd be a week and I've called multiple times. Last week I was told they'd come in on Thursday and it is now Monday and I haven't got an answer. Extremely disappointed and have never had to wait this long, especialy when I need my glasses for every day use. read more

I've been a patient here since 2003 and absolutely love this office! I even drove back here for appointments when I moved to SJ. The OD is great at what he does and has always been nice and personable to me. The rest of the staff is just as great and have always made me feel welcome and comfortable. I LOVE picking out new frames here because they have such a great selection of regular frames and sunglasses too! I wear my glasses everyday so picking out new frames is always a big deal to me and I tend to take my time but I've never felt rushed at this office. In fact, I always have fun with the girls there. I like Dr. Soares and appreciate his knowledge and the way he explains my issues and the options available to me. However his office staff is hurting his business. They are not friendly nor helpful. I am used to waiting well past my appointment time. That seems standard for that office. The frames and lenses are over priced. I take my prescription to C & J Optical in Merced. They have a much bigger selection, much more reasonably priced and the glasses are ready in days instead of weeks, like Soares Office. read more

The doctor is rude, impatient, and behaved angrily towards me when the growth of cataracts created a glare that made it hard for me to see during the eye tests -it seemed because it inconvenienced his need to be done with me quickly. I waited a very long time past my appointment time (which I was early for) to be seen while listening to the doctor socializing elsewhere. Though I have good insurance coverage, they pressured me to pay for screening using an expensive new machine not covered by the insurance. Perhaps he thinks that because it is a small town without hundreds of eye doctors, he will always have customers, and maybe that is true, but it is not worth it to me to leave an appointment feeling worse than when I came in. read more

So, let's just say that I'm a VERY dissatisfied customer. My husband did like the actual doctor but other than that this business is terrible. The staff are just rude, and in general $$$$$. We were quoted $260.00 for 1 yr. supply of contacts. Our insurance would cover $120.00 so we would pay $140.00 out of pocket. So, they ordered the sample and that took almost a week. My husband picked them up and they wanted to see him back for a fitting. So, he goes in for the fitting and it's an additional $25.00 plus we had to pay in full before they would order the contacts. We decided to take our business elsewhere, and were quoted $160.00 for the same brand of contacts. Insurance would cover $120.00 and out of pocket we would pay $40.00. The VERY helpful lady @ the front desk ordered the contacts without receiving payment upfront and they called my husband the very next day to let him know his contacts were in. So, I went and picked them up & actually ONLY PAID $10.00 out of pocket. I was stunned !! read more

I've only been in Los Banos for two years..but finding good doctors is very important to me. Last year I came and actually didn't get to meet Dr. Soares. But today I had an appointment with him and he's great! This isn't my first rodeo with eye doctors as I've had glasses/contacts for sixteen years..yet he was able to explain things that no one has ever told me!! I didn't feel rushed and he was very thorough. His office is very clean and staff is just as amazing! I believe I have only met Gianna but she's very sweet!
