My niece went to Tram's to do a simple gel polish with a French tip on her fingernails. *No manicure was requested and none was done. She was taken advantage of and charged almost $40 for the french tip gel polish only. Also, the job done was very unsatisfactory! Horrible work! Reached out to Tram in hopes of a resolution, but was given odd amount charges for services, including a V French that was never requested for by my niece (See pic below). Tram and her employees are such awesome professionals. I'm a stickler on my pedicures and not once did I even have a complaint about the service I received. I'm not a fan of having my toe skin clipped, like a nail spa I visited in the mall. This never happened at Trams and I've been a loyal customer for over 6 years. Tram has been doing my eyebrows for more than 10 years now- when I was a little teenie bopper. Nobody does it better than Tram for the eyebrows and threading/ waxing. She's really friendly and likable. I particularly like that she does waxing threading and plucking. All three! You'll find sometimes you see someone for waxing and that's all they do no plucking. Went on a whim because couldn't find any other place. We wanted to get a massage and a facial and this place did both for about $110. However, probably not worth that much. The facial felt great. It was very nice. The massage wasn't. This isn't really a massage place. They have some sort of beauty school program going and I ended up with a student. She never did my back or shoulders in a full body massage. I was so confused why she didn't do that. Also, they put me in some back room where the curtain was open 75% of the time. The lady broke some giant glass vase during my massage because the room was very small. It was loud the entire time. And the lady kept coming in and out unannounced. read more

Walked in to see if they do brow threading, and they do! I could not believe they accept walk ins as well, the other place I've gone to I've always had to make my appointments months in advance to be able to get in. The whole staff was warm and welcoming as soon as I walked in, and Tram was incredible. She had tricks to make the threading less painful as well that I've never tried. She also showed me how to properly fill my brows with a fine tip brow pencil. Wonderful experience, I will definitely come back! read more

I thought the quality of the service was fine, but feel like I was upsold on everything to the point of frustration, and have had 2 friends say the same. Someone who books an appointment for an eyebrow waxing does not want their upper lipped assaulted (verbally or physically). It can be very insulting to go into a place and be told you need to fix yourself in a number of other (costly) ways to look better. I also found that I was given a "deal" but when looking at their price list later that day I actually paid full price (and then a few bucks more). My tip at the time reflected my awesome deal so that added insult to wallet injury! This town is too small to be practicing bad business ethics! Don't lie to your customers about your prices when your price list is posted. Don't tell your customers they need more stuff done to their faces to be better looking. Just be happy people come at all. I won't return even though I love how the work turned out. read more

Nice atmosphere, pretty friendly people. Wait area isn't that comfortable, but I was seen right on time. She immediately got to work after pleasantries, the waxing portion of my brow experience was fast and almost painless, after which she plucked the last littles hairs before threading to clean it up. I don't usually do this but since I've walked out it's been on my mind. I called today to make an appointment and they told me 3:05, of course I came in earlier just to check in and I had to be out of there by 4. I got there at 3 and checked in, waited for about 45 minutes until I was actually serviced. When I called to make the appointment I asked how much a Brazilian wax is and they only said $45, nothing else. I go in, I get my wax done and as she's doing it she tells me since it's my first time they're gonna charge me $65! Where in the world did that come from?!?! My fault for not asking further questions but I assumed since they told me $45 that was the set price because they didn't inform me on any further information that would be great to know before starting. At the end of the waxing I go to cash out and the total comes out to $71.01! I'm very upset and bothered by that because the lady I usually go to has a set price no matter what and $71 is a ridiculous price for what I got which isn't totally clean. I hate to do this but I'm very upset about it and I don't have $70 to be spending on something not worth the money. read more

I have been going to tram for my eyebrows for years now, and there is a reason for that. She is an absolute pro at eyebrows, threading waxing plucking all of it. She has always been kind and friendly and so has her staff. I read some comments about the wait time and yes sometimes there is a wait, but it's well worth it. I also love the atmosphere, sometimes there are kids, sometimes there is commotion, and I personally enjoy that rather than a cookie cutter salon. But regardless she just is terrific at what she does and I highly recommend her for anything eyebrow related. read more

I hope nobody will experience what I went through regarding my visit there. Before arriving, a worker said that my services would be $45. During my appointment, Tram, the owner, continued to tell me about other services she does and I felt very uncomfortable as she kept talking about it, encouraging me to try her reduction cream or her threading. At the end, I chose not to add to my service and she charged me $70 which was only supposed to be only $45! I asked why and she said new customers are charged more. I couldn't believe it! Later, I reached out to Tram, saying that I was not happy with the service and was overcharged so she offered to give me a full refund no questions asked. I finally went in to receive my refund and she only gave me $20 back that she overcharged me. I was fine with this, however, throughout my communication with her, she kept saying that she is a woman of her word and takes pride in terrific customer service. At the end, she said that she refused to give me a full refund, but she'd be happy to send a check to a charity in my name. Basically, she punished me for standing up for myself as I was overcharged and made uncomfortable by her pushy attitude. Please do not ever step foot in this place! read more

60+ year old senior citizen had my very first facial ever. I scheduled a "eyebrow appointment" and right when I arrived, Tram had me seated in her chair. She asked if I wanted waxing or threading, I didn't even know what the difference was. After explaining both, I opted for the threading. I also had her do the little hairs around my mouth. Then I had my facial done with Momi who had nice soft touch, but did a heck of a strong facial massage. I loved it. Such a wonderful experience with a great technician. By the time I was done I decided that I would be bring my husband the next time so he could also have a facial. The best part though was looking into the mirror when I was done. No, all my wrinkles didn't disappear, and I didn't magically get younger. But my face looks brighter and healthier, and my brows are awesome. I highly recommend Trams Day Spa! read more

I'm not one to do reviews but I was very disappointed with this visit. I went in for a eyebrow threading and eyelash extensions because my normal eyelash tech was on vacation. My eyebrows are great, always does a good job on eyebrows however, I wanted to get individual eyelash extension which is my normal. I laid there for almost two hours, eyes burning and watering like crazy and left with a bill of $180 (not including tip) which I don't mind paying If I absolutely love what I got but, this was not the case! The next morning I was getting ready and noticed an eyelash extension hanging off the outer edge of my left eye, so I pulled it off because it looked terrible, and came to find a cluster of extension on one glue stub. I was very confused because I thought I paid for an individual eyelash extension, when there was about five strands of artificial eyelash all attached to one end, glued on to about 4 real eyelashes. Throughout the day I kept looking at my new set and came to realize I got semi individual and not individual set. Might I add a big price difference in the both. Anyway it kept bothering me so I contacted the salon and was told they are clusters of eyelashes set on an individual eyelash. And was informed that it looks more natural that way and if they fall out it will still look okay. Well I was very unhappy because that was not what I wanted or had paid for. I explained that I was very bummed out and the owner kept telling me "it's better, it's better this way". Well it's not because one set already fell out and now I have a missing Chunk of eye lashes that is noticeable and it's only been day two. I will never return for eyelash extensions. I was mostly left in the room, unattended, in the middle of my facial for about 45 min to an hour. I won't go back. She cut someone's hair in the middle of my facial. Tram's was able to get me in and she was wonderful!!! she did my eyebrows sooo well... wax and threaded...she asked if i had ever tweezed or removed the hair on my upper lip, i never ever thought to do that...but after the great job she did with my eyebrows i had to let her show me the big difference it would make for my lips...and wow...i'm amazed...and that wasn't all she suggested other services that they offer...and i scheduled a deep cleanse facial for next week saturday...but by the time i got home i was way too excited about my eyebrows that i called to reschedule my facial for tomorrow!!! hahaaa... well i would highly suggest it...they are friendly and for her to take the extra step to offer other services... read more

I've given this place a few chances. First, I got a bikini wax from Tram. She was nice, but seemed a little rushed and flustered. It turned out alright. Then, I got another one 6 weeks later from one of her students. She literally left with with patches the size of nickels and irritated red bumps. Then she charged me full price, even though they say student services are 20% off. Today I made an appointment to get eyelash extensions. They called me 5 minutes before my appointment to tell me that 'the lady' wasn't there and I had to reschedule. Then they got me on the phone and said come in, they'll do it. I sat there for 40 minutes before Tram rushed in and gave me the extensions. She got glue in my eyes and she totally botched my eyelashes. I could have done a better job on myself with one hand. I refuse to give these people any more money. Be weary. There's a reason they're the only salon in Hilo with appointments available. read more

I got eyelash extensions for the first time. It wasn't what I expected. Tram put medium extensions on and I thought it looked unnatural. I wish she put small ones on. And the glue burned my eyes and my eyes were tearing like crazy. I guess my eyes weren't made to handle the experience. But she did make them better. By removing two extensions off each eye and she made a worker do it. And I would say she was better than tram herself. Although tram does great brows. The eyelash extensions were just not meant to be for me. But go and try it for yourself. If you want too. I would probably not come again for extensions. If you do go I would recommend going to Brenda. She is very nice, patient, and caring! read more
