I called two weeks ago to make an appointment with my stylist who unfortunately passed away. The person I spoke to told me to walk in when she asked if I had an appointment. I walked in two days later and they said they are all booked up for the day. I was frustrated because they didn't allow me to make an appointment when I first called. I made an appointment 3 days in advance which was required per the stylist. At the appointment I was told she could not cut my hair stating she did not know how to cut the style I wanted. Totally wasted my time using this barber. I wouldn't take my grandkids much less my dog to be groomed here. The staff is rude and not very personable. I would not recommend any and all of my friends or family to frequent or use this business. They lack customer service. They seem to have more excuses of why they cannot cut or style your hair. As people living in a modern world, I think we all know how hard it is to find a place where you can get a good haircut. Or at least one that doesn't make you look like a fool! Lucky for me, I was able to find a great place pretty early on. I mean, I've definitely had some haircuts that were questionable in my day, but they were always due to my own questionable judgement. Jagged Edge has a very friendly environment. There's nice and cool air conditioning and exuberant hair dressers. Never will you encounter one of those dreaded awkward silences that you might get in some places. The price (as a guy) is pretty amazing, too. For $10 a haircut, you really can't beat it. Not to mention the fact that a haircut will usually only take you about 15 minutes, give or take. Ive been consistently going to Jagged Edge for over 5-6+ years now. I understand that there are different needs for each customer. Id like to say my needs are a lot simpler than others. I go to see Aunty Glenda every time and she has never disappointed me. I just come here to get a buzzcut and thats what I get at a very reasonable price. Just like some of the others have said, I notice that walk-ins are pretty rare to get just because a lot of people call in and make appointments. I recommend just calling in for appointments, its a lot easier and youre pretty much guaranteed a haircut or whatever service youre requesting from them, you may have to wait a little even if you came in on time, thats just how it is some days. I never usually do any reviews but I felt I needed to because of the disgusting and false accusations of racism that was made against this salon. Again Ive been coming here for over 6 years and not once did I ever witness any racism within this salon. I dont believe that any of the ladies are racist at all. First of all they can do whatever they want with the shop cause they own it, meaning if they have to close earlier than they usually do, they can. And lastly why be upset if the barber doesnt know how to cut your hair? Would you have rather let her cut your hair when she doesnt know how to? She avoided cutting your hair for your own good, she could have been greedy and took your money and possibly given you a bad haircut. We have every right to be upset with a business for whatever reason, but dont make up dumb accusations like racism when you have no proof to back up your statement. read more

So many rave reviews and I was fooled. The bottom line to this salon is the cheap prices for haircuts. Went there on a Wednesday morning, and I was told there'd be a long wait. I said, I don't mind waiting (not like I had anything planned for the rest of the day). Told me to come back around 11:30 am and so did I. Got there on time, there was a little wait as the lady who was supposed to take me was still with her client. Sat on the chair and explained how I have my hair, 2.5 blades and scissor cut on the top. Told her that I usually get a haircut every two weeks. Yeah, she obvs judged me. LOL. It was quick, efficient but I didn't get the shave/trim that I usually get from my usual barber. Awful experience. I went to Cheryl. She is good with color but terrible with hair cuts.

NO STARS FOR THIS DUMP!! (But for some reason yelp makes me pick at least one star) Walked into my 2 year old daugthers appointment LITERALLY 2 mins late (and we were in the parking lot on time) and we were turned away!! W Lorna saying she already took another person in our place!!!! WTF?? REALLY? My daugthers hair is MAYBE 5 inches long and would have taken them 5 mins to cut but she gave our appointment away while we were still in the parking lot!!!!! The ladies are very friendly and always happy to try and fit in a walk in. But beware there are friends that are walk ins that will get ahead of you if you don't have an appointment. There is a nice couple of benches for waiting and some magazines to read. read more

To say that I was unhappy with my result would be both a severe understatement and a blatant lie. I knew from the very beginning that things were probably not going to go well. I chose this salon based on the name "Jagged Edge". I was looking to get a nice mid length razor cut. Don't be fooled by their name not a single one of the "hair stylists" that work their know how to cut hair this way. I had already been waiting for half an hour at this point, and rather than leaving like i now know I should have I instead decided to give the place a chance. big mistake. I gave the woman cutting my hair a picture of how I wanted my hair done, and she glanced at it one time for about 2 seconds and went to work snipping all my hair off. Not only does it look absolutely NOTHING like the photo I brought in, it's much much shorter than I specifically asked. I'm 1000 percent sure I could have done a better job cutting my own hair, and I'm absolutely awful at cutting hair. Choose this place only if your appearance isn't that important to you. read more

Terrible experience. The lady cutting my hair barely said anything to me because she was too busy gossiping to other women there. She was very unfriendly to me, made me not even want to be there. She refused to let me watch her cut my hair, purposely kept me turned away from the mirror the entire time. Didn't ask if it was ok at the end, just took off the cover and told me the price. The customer service in this salon is unprofessional at best. I called in the morning for an appointment later that same day and the receptionist asked me if I had a particular stylist in mind. I said that it didn't matter, I just wanted to get both my boys haircuts in time for the holidays. She said they didn't have any appointments available but that I could come in as a walk-in. I told her okay and that I would be in with the boys at 2pm. She acknowledged me and hung up. Later that day, on my way in to the salon, I called to let them know we were on the way in. The lady that answered the phone said that they were all booked for the day and I couldn't bring the boys in for a walk in. I preceded to explain to her what I was I told earlier that morning, as our entire afternoon had been planned out. She put me on hold and when she returned she said that someone could squeeze us in in an hour. My children have sports practices, hence the 2p inquiry. When I told her the later time wasn't going to work she pretty much said too bad! There were no apologizes for the miss information or any effort made on their part to keep to what was said! If I was on the wait list or at least told verbally that 2p was okay, why wasn't that honored?! Yes this salon is small town and boasts $10 haircuts and that's the immediate draw I admit, but I would honestly pay $20 somewhere else to get better customer service! I wouldn't recommend this place and won't go here again! The haircuts aren't even worth it! read more

So far, we have visited this salon twice. My husband has a demanding and unpredictable work schedule so it's difficult to make any type of appointments in advance. We had heard good things about this place, and decided to just walk-in on a Saturday for the first time. As soon as we did, we were greeted by one of the hair stylists and she asked if we had an appointment. We said, "no," and she apologized and stated that they were all pretty booked that day. We couldn't afford a long wait time. So, we headed back to our car and as we were pulling out of the drive way, that same stylist waved us down because another realized that it was 10 minutes past the hour and her 1:00 hadn't shown up yet. We thought they went above and beyond to be accommodating. Glenda gave my husband a great cut at an affordable price, and he went back a couple weeks later. For the second visit (another Saturday), we did call in advance and schedule an appt. with Glenda for later in the day. When we arrived, again, we were immediately greeted by one of the stylists. All three of them have been nothing but lovely and professional. My husband definitely intends to continue patronage here. Thanks, ladies! read more
