Close to home. Smaller pool but nice water temp on a hot summer day. Also enjoyed the cooling effect of the sprinklers.

It was a bit strange today having only one person swimming in the giant pool. It was overcast and rainy, Saturday evening... I guess I was the only one that needed to do laps but, when you're face down in the water, you don't really see anyone else or talk to anyone else. This is my favorite swimming/exercise spot . Can't say enough about it. Don't forget, the membership here also allows you to go to the other Reno area pools. Including Idlewild, north Northwest and Mount Evelyn or Evelyn Mount whatever it is. Lol

Ok, maybe it is a clean pool smell. The building, locker rooms, seating areas, parking lot and outdoor areas look good. If you haven't been and you are thinking it is just another community pool like Alf Sorrenson or Idelwild, it is not. This is a jewel in the Parks & Rec. Department's offerings. This facility gets bonus points for being fully self sustainable with the hot springs and solar. The rates are reasonable with discounts on Wednesday evening and Sunday. RecConnect passes start at $12 per month.

Met with friends for a open swim play date. Haven't been here in years but it was a fun and…read morerelaxing afternoon. They opened for open swim 1:30 - 6 pm and only charged $2 per kid and $4 for adults. Lots of ample parking at the park as well as their own parking lot. Clean restroom facilities including showers, changing rooms, and toilets. The pool is huge going from 3ft to 10 ft and the middle section separated with floaters for those who may want to do laps. Lots of trees on one side of the pool that provides shade for guests. They also had signage at the entrance explaining that any kids under 18 that would like to swim in the deep end must do a quick swim test (from the divider to end of the deep end). After passing, they give the kids wristbands. The deep end also has several diving boards. They have an abundance of lifeguards all keeping a close eye on the kids. They also have lifejackets on hand for the younger kids that may need it. It was just what we needed to cool down from the heat and I loved the fact that you can bring in your own food, swim toys, and chairs to relax in. Even with two summer camp groups stopping by, it didn't feel crowded. It was definitely a nicer, relaxing environment than a busy day at the water park.
