If you wanna hang at the pool, better come with a credit check and Vegas money, baby. I'm surprised they don't charge you for sunlight. I know the days of $200 cabanas that come with admissions are long gone, but this seems unsustainable for Reno.

Also there are no restrooms in the pool area. You've got to leave to fenced off pool and walk quite a long way to get to the restrooms, so if you have a child, make accommodations. All of that said, it's a heartbreaking scene. I've been coming to this pool since it was the MGM changed hands in the 80s I think, to the Hilton. It was always so nice. Even…read morethough the instructors are of a younger age, they seem to take control of the kids and deliver the skills described for each level of instruction. Good value, too! Classes 4 x week and a discount for Sparks residents. They taught my kids more in 2 sessions over 4 weeks last year than I could have hoped to accomplish all summer. Hooray for learning water safety and another year of skill building! Ok, so the park is a bit sketchy, but the pool got a lovely re-do several years ago and it's a great asset to the community. Grateful that City of Sparks offers these lessons and discount swim Tuesdays are a great way to beat the summer heat! Dive in to Deer Pool!

This facility gets bonus points for being fully self sustainable with the hot springs and solar. The rates are reasonable with discounts on Wednesday evening and Sunday. LRC is the best gym in town, better than any commercial gym…read more There are 8 squat racks and 4 benches. That alone tells you how much better this gym is compared to others. Other gyms are bigger, but only have 2 or 3 squat racks. This gym also has rubber plates, so you don't have to worry about breaking the plates when you drop/rack your weight. You can be as loud as you want! There is also an open area for crossfitters, 2 basketball courts, diving pool and a lap pool, and 4 racquetball courts. If you are a student or faculty at the University of Nevada, take advantage of this gym! If you're not a student/faculty, it might be harder to access this gym, as you might need to buy an alumni pass and/or a magnetic ID card to get in. And that's on top of your gym pass. So the only reason why I'm giving this review 4 stars is the price. But you do get what you pay for!

The regular swim tests are a great way to ensure that those entering the deep end are confident swimmers, which definitely adds peace of mind for everyone. I also want to commend the new lifeguards -- they've done a great job making sure young children stay out of the lap lanes. This has made it much safer and more enjoyable for those swimming laps, as it helps prevent accidental kicks or collisions. Staff needs customer service training when speaking to the public. This pool would be utilized more if hours were receptive to families and schools in the neighborhood.
