It was a bit strange today having only one person swimming in the giant pool. It was overcast and rainy, Saturday evening... I guess I was the only one that needed to do laps but, when you're face down in the water, you don't really see anyone else or talk to anyone else. This is my favorite swimming/exercise spot . Can't say enough about it. Don't forget, the membership here also allows you to go to the other Reno area pools. Including Idlewild, north Northwest and Mount Evelyn or Evelyn Mount whatever it is. This facility gets bonus points for being fully self sustainable with the hot springs and solar. The rates are reasonable with discounts on Wednesday evening and Sunday. RecConnect passes start at $12 per month.

LRC is the best gym in town, better than any commercial gym…read more There are 8 squat racks and 4 benches. That alone tells you how much better this gym is compared to others. Other gyms are bigger, but only have 2 or 3 squat racks. This gym also has rubber plates, so you don't have to worry about breaking the plates when you drop/rack your weight. You can be as loud as you want! There is also an open area for crossfitters, 2 basketball courts, diving pool and a lap pool, and 4 racquetball courts. If you are a student or faculty at the University of Nevada, take advantage of this gym! If you're not a student/faculty, it might be harder to access this gym, as you might need to buy an alumni pass and/or a magnetic ID card to get in. And that's on top of your gym pass. So the only reason why I'm giving this review 4 stars is the price. But you do get what you pay for!

I arrived here fairly early, and I was greeted warmly by the front counter person. He already had my name, welcomed me, and offered me towels. He gave me a short rundown of the amenities, and then set me off to exercise. It was not too busy this morning, everybody was quite friendly. It seems this is not open to the public. It did have a exclusive feel about it. Everything was really clean. And they had a full variety of exercise equipment as well as a nice outdoor pool. I jumped in the pool, even though it's freezing outside, the pool was around 80°. Sun was shining. It was definitely exhilarating to be out in the open, swimming in a heated pool, with all of the snow still surrounding the recreation center. After the swim, I jumped in the hot tub and there were a few people in the hot tub. Good conversation. It was really an enjoyable visit. I would absolutely come back here

You just pay and walk in. No chairs or benches to change into you swim suit. I just dropped trou in the bathroom and changed out. There is limited seating around the pool. The swimming pool is small but there was room enough for everyone there that day. They have a nice water slide for adults and bigger kids. They also had a little slide for the younger kids. There were plenty enough lifeguards around and warned kids when they were playing unsafe in or around the pool. The also have a little snack shack that sells ice cream, hot dogs, and other snacks. The price was cheap. I don't think they're trying to make money off people. Seems like they just want people to be happy. If I ever felt the need to take a dip in a pool, I'd go there again. Beats swimming in the irrigation canals or ditches. I don't think anyone does that anymore.

The amenities inside are impressive: two water slides, a kiddie pool, two diving boards, a rock climbing wall over the water, and a competition pool. Outside, the setup is just as beautiful, featuring another competition pool and a large grassy area with several covered picnic spots. The lifeguards here are super friendly and excellent with little kids. One lifeguard at the rock wall even took the time to give my daughter and other kids tips on how to climb a bit higher. All of this comes at a very affordable price: $6 for kids and $7 for adults, which is an amazing deal for everything they offer. We visit the pool several times a year for our kids' swim meets. Our favorite events are the outdoor meets because the grassy area is perfect for setting up canopies and relaxing while cheering on the swimmers. Highly recommend Carson Valley Swim Center for families looking for fun, affordable, and well-maintained pool time!

This gal named Parker (so I think, younger and blonde) was really saying some not pleasant things to and about the lifeguards around her. Some of those things were inappropriate and very mean. I like the facility is great however the staff (specifically this Parker girl and the other younger ones) are pretty hostile and rude to each other.
