Anyway, with hormonal shifts and passing time, my brows have been looking sparse these last few years. Drawing in and powdering my brows in the morning takes longer than I would prefer. I did a deep dive into microblading and nano-blading, weighing the pros and cons. I settled upon a few permanent make-up artists in the area and reached out to them. It was time for me to take charge of my morning routine. Saena Kim has a robust repertoire on Yelp and Instagram so I reached out to her. Making an appointment was easy as she utilizes an online booking system. The consultation is $50 and goes towards your procedure if you choose to continue with her. With my oily skin, I knew that most PMA would suggest combination powder brows, but she suggested nano brows that are machine assisted. I trusted her with literally tattooing my face, so I went with her suggestion after voicing my concerns. I asked about the inks, she used (which are inorganic). I asked about her experience with nano brows (4+ years). I asked about the numbing prior to the procedure (topically applied). My appointment from start to finish was about an hour and a half. She took the time to shape my brows, get feedback from me, and went to work with her machine. My pain was minimal; I might have fallen asleep. She has offered microblading services for years. She also offers lash extensions, brow lamination, brow correction, and lip blush too. She rents a space inside Sola Salons in the Woodbury Town Center. It's a small, cute space with feminine details and bright lighting. There are other beauty services offered inside the salon as well, just know where you need to go. There is plenty of parking in the lot. I will be back in a few weeks for a touch-up session but so far my brows have been looking more shapely than ever before. I knew right away it was the place for me. It was many weeks before I was able to make an appointment as my calendar limited. After booking it online (totally for this process) I received a text asking me preliminary questions as well as requests for screenshots of my brows. Long story short, Denise is a professional. Doing her homework to assure her success and her clients satisfaction. She proceeded to suggest a style and shape and drew it on my brows to show me what it would look like. When I told her I had my own ideas and wanted to look similar to the way my brows were before the over plucking and over shaving and age, she did not necessarily agree with me. But because they're my brows and I explained in detail what I wanted, she went with my request. When she was finished, she was pleased and mentioned she had not done this style but was going to put them as an option to her classic styles. Let me just say that Trang, if you can get ahold of her, does AMAZING eyelashes. The only reason I'm giving her one star is because she has COMPLETELY blown me off, and this is after literally months of texting, calling and emailing her to get an appointment. Here's the deal: I went to Trang every three weeks for about four months. Loved her work, loved her, loved it all. I was drinking the Kool Aid in big huge gulps. Life was grand. Then I had surgery. It was a planned surgery (some nipping and tucking here and there) and I ended up with some complications, so I literally was unable to lay flat or really on my back at all for almost two months afterwards, which clearly meant I couldn't get my eyelashes done. When I was finally able to get them done, driving was still fairly painful to me, so instead of driving to Irvine where Trang is, I went to a place right around the corner from my house...and hated it. HATED it. I wanted to go back to Trang. I texted Trang and told her what had happened and asked her if I could get an appointment with her. That started an almost two month process of me texting, emailing and calling her...I basically did everything except show up at her door unannounced. She has yet to return any of my texts (probably 20), calls (three) or emails (two). So. Effing. Rude. Apparently I did something to piss her off. Was it going to the other eyelash gal? Maybe. But are we five years old? Pick up the freaking phone and text me back to let me know what's going on. I was an extremely loyal customer to her, dropping $85 every 2-3 weeks on fills and never missed one appointment. That's just rude. Bottom line: maybe you'll have better luck tracking her down than I did. If so, you'll love your eyelashes. Good luck. read more

Mia C., How did you give a review if you didn't receive any service? I am not going to leave a food review at a restaurant i never ate at. Trang doesn't work at salon because all she specializes in is lashes. A person at a salon is not going to cut your hair, give you a perm AND be able to do your lashes like a lash specialist. I agree with Jae. Let Mia go to a salon and get her lashes done and she'll not know where to go because you can't get them done anywhere else like Trang. I got my lashes done by Trang about 4 weeks ago and they still look gorgeous. My roommates tell me she always thinks I wake up with make up on. When I showed her close-up what my lashes look like she had no idea they were extensions until I told her. I can't ask for more! The lashes are beautiful, natural and durable. Thanks Trang! It was just too heavy, so I called back later and asked to remove some since they were just way too big for my eye shape. Given all of this, I still wasn't upset at all since she was just trying to make it more full, as I asked, just a slight miscommunication. Aside from this, I've been getting lashes for around 8 years now, and have never experienced so much pain and soreness from lash extensions. Something about their glue is insanely hard and pokey, or maybe she used too much (?). The extensions were placed so close to the lash line, and none of the extensions were isolated, which both made my lashes and lash line so sore. I don't typically like to express negative experiences, but I really tried to wait it out and just use lash serum to make my natural lashes grow faster so the soreness and pain would go away, but it's been 2 weeks, and it still hasn't. If you've been getting lashes, you know the worst feeling is when there's one lash you can feel that is so sore, but over the past 2 weeks, it feels as if I find 5 a day. I've ripped out so many of my natural lashes, too, since it's so uncomfortable, and now have only about 10 lash extensions left. This is really disappointing since I thought I found my favorite lash salon, and considering how much I paid and the good reviews online, I was expecting a much better application of the lashes.

I tried a few different spots and they were just ok. Then I found Stephanie on Yelp and decided to give her a try. First of all, her prices are extremely reasonable(less than everyone else in the area), its extremely easy to book with her(you can just book everything online), and her location is really convenient right off the 405. Her studio is SO cute, quiet, and comfortable. She is really gentle you barely notice she is working on you. She is also a sweetheart and very welcoming and kind. Now onto her lash work. I was BLOWN AWAY by her expertise. I have officially done everything from natural, hybrid, and volume with her and I can honestly say she is amazing at all of them. Its honestly the best lash work I have ever seen. She is really good at making you have full lashes but still looking natural(if you want to do a more dramatic look though she can do that too). On top of it all, my lashes last SO long. I have a fill with her tomorrow after 3 weeks, and I could seriously go another week and be ok(I used to get my lashes done every week so im a freak about them looking gross and they aren't even close).
